Finally, Taiki got some balls and rejected Hina. To be fair, if not for Chi, perhaps Taiki would have fallen for Hina even if he started with no feelings for her. Thus, it looks like their friendship is over. Taiki can't afford to remain as friends if he will continue to be swayed by Hina.

All my Homies hate Chinatsu. Can't stand her. And Taiki takes an L. Rejects the best FMC for the worst one. Stupid choice. Stupid MC. The only reason I'm gonna watch the next season is for Hina. Don't even care about Taiki or Chiantsu anymore.

good for us. we don't need retards in our fandom

Says the guy with a Rent a Girlfriend as its pfp and favoutute manga XD ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚. Yeah sure whatever. Chinatsu has been very boring this season. You cannot deny it. Hina is much better. Unless she's interesting next season, it won't be very fun. Personality wise Hina is much better. And I'm just stating my opinion. Did I call you a Retard ? Stop with the ragebait.

Watched this early after seeing some crying Hina photos. Yes finally some good content at long last. Thought gonna clown on Hina fans but even as Hina hater felt bad for her.
Gonna ignore:

She had every right to fight for her love tho and so seeing her get rejected is still sad. Respect to Taiki for finally showing some honesty. Commit to Chinatsu as you always wanted. This halfhearted state needed to end, it was dragging a lot.
For a 2 cour romance series the pinnacle to be a rejection is not good. Still has 1 episode to let's see.

Oh I hope this Kyo×Ayame isn't a bait. I want my best girl and best boy(minus Haryu) to get together.
Or else this will be my reaction.

RIP Hina x Taiki. I feel bad for Hina but it always was going to be like this. At least it's the end of this friends where one likes the other relationship. Like Taiki said it's unhealthy. Ayame trying to push forward the Hina ship only caused it to sink faster but this is a good thing in a way. Now they can have more time to go back to just friends and allows Hina to be properly rejected so she can move on instead of just waiting. Also with the sink of one ship it's the start of another...Ayame and Kyo maybe...

This ship was always going to sink but you still cheer her on and from now on I'll still keep cheering for her. It might not be Taiki but the end of this love means the start to another. I hope Hina can find someone great too.

Honestly Hina could have win this fight easily IF she notice her feeling and confess to Taiki BEFORE Chinatsu live in Taiki's house.
She is just a few months too late....
I mean Chinatsu was like those "high and above goddess" for most of her admirers (including Taiki) and anyone with a realistic expectation would not pursue Chinatsu.
It is because Taiki live with Chinatsu that ruined everything, changing Taiki from a "admirer" into "close friend."
Taiki would have accept Hina's confession if that's the case..

Finally, Taiki ended it and said his feelings to her...now Hina, time will heal you...and you'll be moving on without even realizing it.

You can write all you want if the point is that this is also the case in real life, but.... From Taiki's perspective, this is a great folly. The boy wants so much to be fair to Chinatsu, whose feelings he is not even sure of, that he ended his relationship with Hina in the first year of school. It's obvious that after something like this, a person breaks off contact completely. They may see each other at school, but they will already treat each other like air. As if this scene was later I would have no complaints, but here Taiki is simply an idiot.

From the viewer's perspective. This whole triangle lasted almost 20 episodes and from the beginning it was clear who would win so for me it is a waste of time. There is no surprise, etc. If the author wanted to write only about Taiki and Chinatsu then there was no need to introduce any love triangle. Overall this series seems like a poor version of Chihayafuru.

wow, that "gome". Even i was hurt and feelt it in my cheast. So cold and sincere but also the most merciful thing he could have done. She needed a blunt and decicive rejection to help her eventually move on and not just hold on to the hope for something that will never happen. All of it sucks but it is what i is. Im truly wishing we will see her finding some happiness and not just focusing on Taiki and Chinatsu, even just a small sign of her moving on :cccc

She has feeling for him but she's like "nah, i'd just chill here cuz i knew i'd win w.o doing anything"

I've seen animes doing a way better job at emotional manipulation than this ...

The whole beginning was clearly just made so that you get feelings for her and root for her, but we could see it come 100000 MILES away

I hate being taken for a fool and having this happen in front of me expecting me to bite when it's so obvious. Dropped a point more because of that ...

Hina literally has the best personality, the most mature, the most calm and not manipulative, she just likes him. And we have dummy Taiki that likes a girl with the personality of a wet cardboard, which is somehow dry. She's as mature as a kindergarden girl and somehow Taiki fell for her and not the more emotionnaly mature one, but the show makes it look like Hina has a single chance ...

Show doesn't have much in regards of sports either so I'm wondering what's the point here

I have to admit that I feel bad for Hina, I wouldn’t lie. She has stated her true feelings to Taiki, she has a lot of memories with him and so on, but she just cannot be together with him.

I believe Taiki and Chii are destined to be together earlier or sooner. I am sure Hina would find someone who will be able to love her as much as she wants and to accept her.

My personal opinion remains the same: Hina stole the whole show. She kept making her presence visible to Taiki.

@animelovenow Clearly the author likes the design/ look of Chinatsu more so she auto wins XD.
I agree the last point the most, Taiki can be his TRUE self in front of Hina, like a husband and wife.
When he's with Chinatsu he has to act humble/ shy/ awkward/ respectful.
Irl Hina would almost always win though.

Eu estava rindo durante a cena, mas estava rindo de nervoso ;-;

You just know it was coming. Forget about this being the penultimate episode or this being a training camp with bonfire, which in the world of anime has a RICH history when it comes to making or breaking couples, but yeah, they weren't even a couple, as you know this was always about Hina and how one-sided everything was. All that talk over how she wanted things to go down and how it still will not, was genuinely sad.

It's easy to hate Taiki here, but for him, this was never something MORE THAN a friendship. We never saw him holding any sort of feelings towards Hina, even after getting confessed to by her some 10 episodes ago. Sure he was confused but that's normal for someone his age when two girls have the same kind of feelings for you.. which in itself is not really normal but okay xD He was clear with his communication, so yeah, the stuff could've been delayed(it actually would have if Ayame wasn't so super smart), but this was inevitable:(

The ship has sunk officially, deeeeeeep down. Power to Hina, and it's over to just Chinatsu from here on out.

Clearly the comments are where what I expected, the anime has gone too much deep into Hina, creating this thing among those who have never read the manga where Hina is the real heroine and Chinatsu the autistic thing.

I liked the portrayal of Hina, but it saddened me to see they did not do the same for Chinatsu, but it was part of what they pretended, I do not know why really...

I loved the episode for how well the closure of this arc was shown.

Hina being the losing heroine of a childhood friend who saw the love of her life losing chipping away against the better Chinatsu, the many chances of love where she could've flourished and took Chinatsu's place to fulfill her dream of a possible romance...just simply let things be as it stands based on their close friendship, given her own view of things in her roller coaster of a monologue. Kyo and Ayame may have differing beliefs when it comes to the wishy-washy topic as well, and the latter insistently wanting Hina to always pair up with Taiki, it's always on purpose.

The campfire to celebrate the end of the training camp, while both Hina and Taiki can view from the gym just chatting like their usual. That is until Hina popped the unthinkable question from the King's Game they played the previous night, barring that she still loves Taiki one and the same time, and the man himself, now giving her his official reply that his heart will never waver for Chinatsu. At least Taiki was being mature to consider his current scenario that he is just stringing her along on her many teases, and this has to stop at one point, which is now, and possibly forever.

Ayame's plan completely backfired against Hina, sulking that Taiki will never accept her romantically.

OH, THE PAIN FOR HINA. This is such a beautiful, but heartbreaking episode.

Not an unexpected outcome, but a painful one nonetheless.

Hina's been my favorite character since the beginning; she's just very well fleshed-out and relatable, not to mention lovely! I knew she didn't stand a chance, because this story is nothing if not predictable, but watching it all play out like that still hurt. I thought her inner struggles were very well communicated, and the conflict was nicely handled.

Ahhh, I wasn't expecting for this anime to make me tear up...

It's incredible how we all knew this was bound to happen, yet, it was so hard to watch.
So we were right when we said that Taiki made his decision by the end of the last episode, and the moment finally came: Taiki rejected Hina.

Since the beginning of the episode, it had this melancholic vibe, that was already preparing us for what was coming, while showing us what Taiki then mentions later, when he rejects Hina: the situationship they were in was just hurting her, everytime she looked at Taiki, and he was either looking at Chinatsu, or she saw them together, she would silently suffer.

Like Taiki said, this is something that he need to do. It wasn't fair for Chinatsu that Taiki approached with a "back-up plan", and it was even less fair for Hina to be that "back-up plan". Taiki wouldn't love her the way she loves him, while he was still looking for Chinatsu, it just wouldn't happen.
Although Hina is suffering a lot now, we know that it's for the best that this situation ends now, or she will suffer much more, for much longer.

I have to say that the rejection scene was even better done than what I was expecting. The moments that Hina just runs at Taiki and closes his mouth is just heartbreaking, she really didn't want to face the harsh truth...
I really appreciate when anime take their time so set up a scene like this, with the soundtrack and the scenes with leaves and everything, just turns it much more cinematic, which adds to the tension and drama, and just makes the scene ressonate with us much more.

The episode ending with Hina crying was just brutal... I'm genuinely heart broken now. Although I knew this was happening (last episode had all the red flags, the opening and ending also spoiled this), it doesn't make the scene any less heartbreaking.

I have to say I wasn't expecting the Ayame and Kyou scenes. Do I feel some tension in the air? Is it possible for them to be the next romantic pair, I wonder?
Anyways, it seems like Ayame isn't so sure of herself as we thought, because Kyou's words ressonated with her.
Also, seeing how she, in a way, makes her personal emptiness better by supporting other people's love interests, I wonder how she will take Hina's rejection. It's clear she was really invested in it, and the truth is that Hina ended up being rejected, because she made her go to Taiki, without Hina knowing it. Will we see Ayame suffer some character development because of this?
Also, I'm down for more Kyou screentime.

Anyways, this episode was probably one of the best, if not the best, of the anime so far, especially because we've had so many episodes to build this tension, and they really nailed the rejection scene, so the build up payed off.

That`s the type of episode that reminds me how special this anime is. It`s full of all the old tricks we`re seen a million, but is done in such a distinguished way, focusing on emotions, perspectives, outcomes, etc, that it subverses expectations delivering exactly what we expected (if that's even possible).
It`s been a massive hit on Hina, but in life, that`s the type of blow that ends up turning you into a better person. And for Taiki as well, I loved the way the story handled his emotions. His best friend comes out saying she loves him, every person would at least be moved by that, feel the uncertainties he felt since the school festival. "What is going to be of our friendship, how's she going to feel knowing I love someone else, would it be so be if we got together?". It's such a genuine and verisimilar reaction, I love it.
And all of this not even touching on the Chinatsu's side of things. How's she interpreting everything that's been going on, what are the consequences for she noticing Taiki and Hina's absence.

The show never runs away from the decisions it makes, every action has a relevant outcome, a real development not only for the plot, but for the characters as well, and I keep on being amazed by it every week. What a nice journey this one has been, fellas, I'm really gonna miss it.

Couldn't describe this anime better. The way we all knew this was coming, and yet, this scene still hits harder than a truck...

Can't believe we only have 1 more episode of Blue Box, going to miss this anime a lot :(((
