Cleopatra perhaps has a narrow appeal, being weird without being avant-garde. |

| Weirdness is what makes me want to watch something. Though a lot of avant garde shorts I dont find appealing at all after watching them. Some are quite good but the ones that use claymation and stuff tend to be awful but being short i have no reason to avoid it entirely so i check sometimes. |

| @Yuu_Kanzaki it has some of the best world building and long-form storytelling in the medium, which admittedly is something you do only start appreciating once you invested a lot of time into the series. it also has some pretty good comedy. mind you, I'm saying this as someone who doesn't particularly care about OP. the pacing is glacial, the characters are flat, and fights are too cartoony. the way I managed to get through it was reading the manga, allowing me to skim all the boring parts and endless flashbacks, and even then I had to stop during Dress Rosa because I just didn't care enough. |

| @_ohara did you miss the part where I said I read like 700 chapters and ended up dropping it? the show didn't hook me when I watched it as a kid on TV 20 years ago, and it didn't hook me when I read the manga 2 years ago. I think it is fair to say that some people just don't vibe with it. |

| Years ago, I watched a few episodes of Baki, but I stopped because I thought it was too ridiculous. However, for some reason, I decided to give it another chance this year, watched the whole series on Netflix and I found it quite entertaining. Your appreciation of a series definitely varies greatly depending on your mood or criteria at a given moment. |

Those numbers are baby compared to to one piece that has 1000 episodes. Have you ever thought the possibility that it's not one piece haters have poor story comprehension, but rather one piece itself is poorly written? One of the hardest things in writing a good story is writing a good ending, and seems like one piece is struggling. I watch moist but his takes on anime are as bland as ever.
