Still only two cours into it, but Yume no Crayon Oukoku is a really fun one. Also, Magical Hat is really doing a good job of worming its way towards getting a high score from me.

Digimon Adventure was pretty good. Not the EngDub, though, they butchered things. I mean the JapDub. It also holds up past childhood.
Second season was a bit cringe, but at least the ending was decent. Tamers is good again.

Yes Ox Tales, one of my childhood favourites, and it's still fun to watch again. Maybe Bakugan if that fits the genre too.

@Otakupervert890 That's why y'all seem like noobs to me. ๐Ÿ˜†

Not that there's anything wrong with being a noob. Just means you have so much more to experience and appreciate than I ever had. Know that anime has a long and illustrious history that is worth exploring. A lot of the best stuff came out before this century started. It's worth exploring, Don't be a lemming leaping from the latest hype cliff.

And please, try and stay warm up there! Been a long time since I was last in Quebec, but I am sure it's still tres froid.

@JoeChip Was a staple of Club Dorothee, a french TV show that mostly broadcast anime betwen 87 and 97. DBZ, Sailor Moon, Ranma 1/2, Maison Ikkoku, Saint Seiya, Hokuto no Ken... City Hunter. City Hunter's a kid anime in France (and I believe Italy), and absolutely iconic. To this day, a good chunk of the western fandom is french, and we recently had a (bad) french live action adaptation. I watched most of it when I was 4 to 6yo :p.

DBZ is arguably less kid-friendly than CH.

@Lucifrost Yeah but we all watched it in black and white, since you had to be rich to have a color TV back then. Even if you had one, a lot of the stations weren't broadcasting a color signal.

Not sure if these are considered "Kid's Anime" but, here are some I remember liking/watching a lot as a kid:

Digimon
Beyblade
Crush Gear Turbo
Mirumo de Pon
Akazukin Chacha
Ninja Boy Rantaro
Sugar the Little Snow Fairy

Easy answer as my favorite among these would be Digimon, but I also remember enjoyingly following the Mirumo de Pon series, probably much more than I did with Digimon.

All those kiddy anime are flawed, but the best ones hold up on a rewatch when you are an adult.

Digimon Ghost Game honestly might be my fav Digimon anime. Which is wild cuz I watched Digimon when it first aired on Fox Kids. Tamers was solid on the rewatch, I haven't gotten around to a rewatch of the others.

Zoids Chaotic Century and Guardian Force more than held up on the rewatch. Every fan of JRPGs needs to watch that anime.

Cyborg 009: The Cyborg Soldier also held up amazingly on the rewatch. It's a lot of episodes, but worth the time.

The finale of the reboot of Yu-gi-Oh season 1 was incredible. We 80s and 90s kids deserved to watch that as a special on TV. The JP dub was better anyway, so I guess it shakes out ok.

My two most recommended anime for kids are The Big O (BTAS vibes with a great story) and the goat.

Sailor Moon S. We would have been extra hyped if we got to watch a proper unedited version as a kid when it originally aired, regardless of if you are a boy or a girl. I was a 35 year old man watch Sailor Moon Super and getting goosebumps off the Super attacks. If only there was some way to send that awesomeness to the kid version of me.

Technically, shonen is for little boys, but I don't think a younger version of me could have appreciated The Promised Neverland the same way an adult me did reading the manga. 80's and 90's anime blurred the line of what was for children and what was a little bit spicier. So I don't know any other anime to recommend.

No amount of coping or mental gymnastics will change the fact City Hunter is not a kids anime but don't let me stop you. I almost expect you to say City Hunter was made in France instead of Japan .

@JoeChip If making weird and unsubstantiated assumptions about others helps you sleep at night, go for it, Joe-kun.

(And yes, unsubstantiated assumptions is a pleonasm. Congrats on noticing it! Don't point it out to get a false sense of superiority tho, it was intentional)
