Tbh, this was bound to happen. Takuya and Rika is doing what it takes to not draw suspicion of a fake marriage. However, they are clever enough to recognize what could be traps.

Expected an awkward episode and that's what we kinda got. They got to spend a lot of alone time though.

Well the couple had a very awkward night but it was funny to watch.
Hopefully they will be able to make a repost and things will work out.
I just wonder when the marriage is at this point.

Leveraging the bond of couples as a selling point huh curious idea. Never thought that Rika would go for it though. Spice collecting is a nice. Still learning to love together should be an interesting experience for them. Curious to see how this would end next week.

“If we went ahead and got married maybe we wouldn’t have to worry so much” ❤️ Fuck man Rika and Takuya are so cute! I’m gonna hate to see them off next week. This season went by so fast. My pet peeve with romance stories is when we get 10 episodes of buildup and only 2 episodes of them actually being a couple and doing cute shit. This is supposed to be a reward for the time we’ve endured with them but it’s too short lol.

I like how we saw them slowly get less awkward as this episode progressed. Going from not even able to discuss bills and moving in with one another to having a nice heart to heart there at the end. Some of its played up for laughs, but as an introvert I definitely relate to some of their struggles lol.

Kinda excited, but also not excited since it’ll be over next week for the end.

So, the boss lady gave them an assignment where they had to live together. That is an easy way to suss out if the two are actually engaged or not. Clever. The two being the lovable idiots they are actually took the job. AND they're actually living together to write the blog. Wow. If it was me I'd just ChatGPT it. If this show came out a few years later with the cast being younger maybe they would've done that lol.

Anyway, it's good that they didn't do that. Takuya and Rika living together in the same apartment is cute as shit. Especially since this time there are no distractions and Rika is actually staying the night. I wish something did happen. Can't let the girl cook in that sauna of a tent.

It makes me sad that there's only one episode left. I really hope that a 2nd season will be announced right away. Will be very disappointed if it doesn't.

Where did Kurokawa get the idea they were living together? Or is she trying to plant that suggestion with them?

Damn right you have to support Kama's lifestyle expectations.

"Here I go." And I suddenly got an Evil Overlord thought of the boulder falling on her.

Kama likes the smell of Rika's feet.

The way to Rika's heart is ....

No Takuya, that is not at all how it feels to be living together.

Underwhelming bath scene. ☹️

Ask not "Is something going to happen?"
Ask and decide "What am I going to do?"

Takuya's call icon is a cat butt.

@LordCrueltyV In earlier episodes they hosted a small party in Takuya's house with some coworkers, they decorated it with paired toothbrushes, glasses, etc to make it look like they lived together.

The girl that looks like Mimi from Digimon probably told the manager about that day.

Wow, "the hardest thing about living with your partner is getting used to not being alone"...
Now I understand, Rika and Takuya starting to live together is a big step, but what the fuck, how can they be so close and nothing happens between them? bruh

Even so, I liked it a lot, although it's somewhat frustrating that they can't move forward with their feelings, it's still realistic, in real life lonely people don't "grow" courage overnight ._.

This show is more and more about what it feels like to work for a company that doesn't respect your free time and personal life. "We're a family!" being used as an excuse to justify taking every bit of you. I mean, it was already that right from the premise of "you have to be willing to uproot and move overseas if you want to keep working here," but this latest invasion of privacy is starting to feel like employee abuse....

@LordCrueltyV College dorm is different than someone you’re romantically interested in, which is why she was freaking out about bathing at his house but had no problem going to a public bathhouse or using a convenience store bathroom

I can’t figure out why the boss gave them that task—it feels a bit suspicious—but honestly, I’m grateful it led to them living together. It’s official: Honjouji has been accepted by Kama, the true master of Oohara’s house.

Even though they tried to set boundaries to avoid more kisses or awkward moments, deep down, both of them clearly want to break those lines. Watching them interact under the same roof was both hilarious and frustrating, and Kama perfectly captured my own expressions during those scenes.

It’s a shame there’s only one episode left, but at least Oohara is starting to consider that being truly married to Honjouji might not be such a bad idea after all.

Fun fact with the cat scene that happened about 10-11 minutes into the episode-

for all the monologing Rika did about the cat and its concern about it accepting her- when the cat was rubbing up against her, it had its tail straight up- meaning it was feeling friendly and sociable to her in that scene.

If the cat did not like her? The cat would have had its back arched up and its ears would be back in her presence

As I thought Kurokawa had no I'll intentions and just scammed them but good that she did.

Seeing two of these idiots struggle while living together is so cute. Boundary setting is one thing Rika wants to live as a prisoner lol. Atleast Kama accepted her, no problems.
Concern over bathing is natural but they didn't even using bathroom why? What. Takuya waiting for Rika outside bathhouse was nice and he achieved his objective as well.
Two of them waited for things to happen again but it didn't this time, half expected another kiss tbh.
Yeah Rika is hot(inside the tent)
Yes don't think get married.

It's funny to me that in so many series like this (doesn't have to be pure romcom, but many types of romance really - including the more ecchi and harem-esque ones), the male protagonist would almost always be painted as the principal problem and hurdle to overcome in the communication gap between the two in terms of the miscommunication and lack of total communication. The girl may be portrayed as belonging to the same subculture like also a nerd/otaku or with similar interests and personality traits (but toned down somewhat), and even also shy, quiet, and reserved. But it's usually portrayed and kind of hinted at too somewhere in the narrative that the bigger problem is with the guy lead not speaking up enough. It did seem like that was the way it was going to go here as well with Oohara, since he also is quiet and reluctant to speak or stand out, and has that classic non-assertive and non-outspoken, socially anxious and awkward personality type.

But relative to Honjouji, he's actually pretty "normal".

Some of what I said may just be because in those other series the male main character is really considered uncontroversially the primary main character or the sole main character, whereas here it really feels more evenly split with both being equally important and therefore it gives us more of her inner monologue and insight into her psychology instead of just of his.

But the way she thinks everything out to such a cartoonish and obsessive level of meticulous detail and even has to engage in elaborate physical ritualistic actions like traveling somewhere and walking under that anomalous stone bridge to knowingly psych herself up before taking actions in her personal life and mentally stepping outside of her comfort zone, she's definitely on a different wavelength beyond even where Oohara is at, let alone of much of the audience...like, neurologically.

But this series is also a lot more realistic in that way than what I expected from the epitome of an average-looking romcom. Many would have taken the traits Honjouji is exhibiting now and dealt with them much earlier on, only retaining a watered down version of them as a reminder and cute quirk. But much more manageable, sidelined, and "tamed". Whereas this isn't really compromising in how extreme the characters are/can be and how dysfunctional and non-functional it makes them - including, and even especially with respect to advancing the plot.

Aah enough already but man I'm starting to get annoyed with their cute wimpiness, tents in the house, raising your hand to talk etc. You're exaggerating too much now. Come on I'd say okay if you don't kiss but to be honest what are you waiting for to accidentally have sex? >_<

Nah, the fact that they need to raise their hands before speaking is insane and unreasonable. They're gonna look stupid as hell.

If she's gonna sleep in a tent, she shouldn't be next to the window since they suspect someone is watching them. Also, I think the tent is more of an inconvenience to Kama than anything else. Ngl, I did wish Kama would've attacked Rika for the laugh and giggles.

Rika pisses me off so much its not even funny.

Life is so much easier when you've dated for a while and are comfortable with each other and moving in together then. Not moving in before y'all are even official. I hate this stupid couple so damn much. I have bad social anxiety, but Rika's in a whole different league to the point where its unrealistic. Why tf can't they communicate like adults?

Grown up relationships are typically this complicated. They're just complicated individuals lmao

I hope there is a second season because I'm like a few chapters in advance (almost an episode in) and while they could end it up fine right there, there is still a little more than an half of the manga to cover. So it will be almost halfway adapted, and a second season would be so good.

Thankfully, it turns out that Kurokawa wants both Takuya and Rika to document their marriage life for a report, and as such as the opportunity to avoid going to Alaska is prominent, this project is a go at the very minimal. And just like with their fake marriage plan, it has a plan that's succinct to the point, and only the points that matter...acting like lovebird idiots with their antics, like raising hands before speaking. The lord of the house being Kama, and its acceptance of Rika...is quite the anti-climatic rollercoaster.

The independent cohabitation does have its problems, not with the food, but in concern towards the bathroom, having to run home then to his place back and forth is quite the dilemma. So, in tandem, using the public bathhouse is the only amicable solution, and the hardest part of sleeping together (but separately) being yet another dilemma in and of itself...

...where does this adult romance drama go, if they want to get married for real?

Honoji Rika at the start when she's hiking...there was a moment when she looked like a child at 4:38...wtf? I think someone on the animation team mistook this for a flashback or just was bad at drawing he foreshortening.

Ohara-kun was a surprisingly good cook, eh. It was nice seeing that he has some hobbies like collecting spice souvineers from around the world too. I'm glad that they showed this little tidbit about him, as I imagine most people who work for a tourist travel agency likes to do some traveling themselves. I figure that might even be a prerequisite in the hiring process.

Documenting your living together for a fake marriage, what a way to add layers to the suite of lies. Welp, his family already knows what's up so only her mom could have something to say if she wasn't taking trips all over.

Don't give up on the romance dream. Clap for him loking out for her, don't send her off to Alaska.

The dude keeps reaching his hand out to her, just take his hand. And she has him wait a week for it.

Ah yes, can never forget the cat's approval.

@WatchTillTandava I think they try to portray some kind of neurodivergence. People with autism spectrum people often collect stones from the childhood like Rika.
