This is undoubtedly my favorite anime of the season so far. I'm really digging this kind of toxic relationship; seems like Kirishima has completely fallen for Yoshino's fake persona. It's a refreshing change compared to other romance series filled with beta characters, passive dynamic relation.

Episode followed more of Yoshino's life and I think it's an interesting development, seeing at how observant she can be.

I find it amusing how chaotic Yoshino's life has turned after getting involved with the yakuza..even getting dragged into a nightclub. She and Kirishima were able to track down the woman they were looking for but there's definitely some shady people in this show. Kirishima is scary as hell when he's focused on beating the shit out of someone imo.

I'm not feeling this couple at all, but I can respect Kirishima for being absolutely ruthless in combat. Good luck trying to pull two humans' worth of blood from that guy. Going by the driver's rumors, the delinquent-to-yakuza pipeline is still as strong as ever.

Kirishima is a total and absolute psycho. Not sure if Yoshino can take that crazy out of him.

That was some satisfying beating up and loved watching Yoshino throughout the episode. Their interactions are amusing. New guy at the end gonna be a love rival?

Are these guys dense or something? Or my bad, JUST Kirishima. Why the HELL are we having a meeting/talking about Yakuza stuff, you know, IN FUCKING SCHOOL IN A CLASSROOM??? I know most people won't know what they're talking about, but all it takes is ONE person to know what they're talking about, and boom, busted.

But yeah, Kirishima as much a badass as always, Yoshino as well when she hit that prick with her hair dryer xD

I know the manga sets in 2017 but electronic dictionary should already vanished by then.

And yes, Japan is the only country in the world that the electricity's frequency (not voltage) has two systems, 50Hz in eastern area including Tokyo and 60Hz in western area including Osaka.

The electronic dictionary surprised me, I’ve got a(n) UMPC about the same size.

I can’t wait to see if she gets more badass, the hairdryer scene was great.

Excited to see what’s up with the new guy.

I can’t track down the insert song right before the end credits, it’s soooooo good.

I couldn't stop reading and ended up catching up to the latest translated chapter of this series after finding the first episode interesting. I have to admit that the anime makes it more enjoyable even when they cut out dialogue. The pacing is pretty quick and judging by the opening they are covering around 40 chapters (9 volumes)? Fingers crossed they don't butcher it!

I'm certain this will be my guilty pleasure anime of the season - Shouma is looking mightily fine too :D

I have to say that this episode was really good, better than the 1st one in my opinion.

I believed that the 1st episode had a really fast pace, but I understood why they rushed it (so that they could end the episode when they did), and I was hoping the 2nd episode would get the pacing right. And I must say, they heard my wishes, because the pacing for this episode was incredible. Building up from the attitude change from Yoshino at the end of the last episode, she showed her true self in this episode, and I must say that I love it, she's so funny and she smacked that dude that hit her, owww, we love to see it. I was really curious to see when Kirishima started fighting if she would join or be like "please, don't fight", but she just straight up used the hairdryer xD

This episode we got a lot of info about the setting of the anime, and a lot of clues about some pieces of the story, like how Kirishima might have a really dark and sad story, and that might be why he ended up the way he did, at least that's what I got from when he said he had no other choice than to join the Yakuza. Really interested to see more.

Also, I really liked how this episode showed more of a Yakuza environment if we can put it like this, and the 2 working together, and it's really entertaining to see their dynamics honestly, with the 180º change from the last episode. I'm also digging the artstyle now, not going to lie, it looks really good for the anime and its theme (I knew it would grew on me).
This episode was entertaining all throughout its duration and continue this more unexpected light-hearted storytelling, while still keeping it serious when it needs it to be, which honestly might be the best recipe for an anime like this.

I have been hearing the opening from The Oral Cigarettes for the past week, and I must say, IT'S SO GOOD. It totally grows on you, and I can see it being one of my favorite openings by the end of the anime.

We got to see the guy from the ending and from the opening too, at the end of the episode (the Motor Bike guy), and I'm really curious to his relationship with Kirishima, because he looked at him with a rather "sad/missing" expression, I wonder if they are blood-related, now that we know that Kirishima isn't actually the leader's grandson (might be his brother, that he got separated from when he got into the Yakuza?).
Really excited for the next episode, and I enjoyed watching the anime get a lot more popular this past week, because it definetly deserved more attention!

Edit: Forgot to mention, but the way Yoshino stopped Kirishima from beating the guy to death, was actually pretty cool, and the way he just accepted it shows he's totally blinded by "love" for Yoshino.

@sarybelle

Yeah, I was also like wtf lol

Things escalated quickly. You wouldn't want to mess with Kirishima. Yoshino got some work to do if she wants to tame him.

Enjoying this so far. More so for the organized crime theme than for the character dynamic and romance, but we're getting there. Who's the guy at the end? A relative, friend, rival or enemy?

Wait, so why did she sell her kidney? Like someone else said above, I thought she was just joking last episode. Didn't catch anything about her really needing money, since they said they'd make sure she had everything she needed, and Kirishima even said he owed her money this episode?? Did she just sell it to intimidate him or??

We know what the wet dream of every teenage girl is.. to be in, what the good people call, a "relationship" with the reddest flag around. Now this is not a news or not even something worth mentioning because I mean it's a fact, and the author knew what they were doing(not sure how this didn't sell like hotcakes still), but hey, the main girl here hasn't completely fell head over heels for mister toxic, yet, and yeah, is someone who walk the talk lol.

I mean selling your kidney ain't just anything lmao. So some points to her, though I'm not sure how long this would hold true, as you know, I can see another reddest flag making his appearance in the next couple of episodes.

So, he really sold his kidney. I had my doubts, but it seems it was true.

Yoshino may have -100 experience in love, but she sure has character, and I like that. She doesn’t fall behind Kirishima for a second.

I like the chemistry between Yoshino and Kirishima; they are really crazy. Kirishima is a romantic; he isn’t afraid to show his pure and sincere love… even if it means selling his organs, he doesn’t know who will buy them, but if he only needs his cornea, he definitely has buyers. Indeed, he revived romance 🚬 HAHAHA.

This is definitely up there among my favorite shows of the season so far. I like the dynamic between Yoshino and Kirishima. I'm intrigued about who the guy at the end of the episode is. I'm curious whether Kirishama's attraction toward Yoshino will stick, and whether she'll come around on him. Like many others, I'm also shocked she actually sold a kidney.

Damn man, like the rest of you, I thought the Kidney thing was a bluff! But she actually DID IT. That takes guts, which she has one less organ next too.
Cold-cocking that brute with the hair-dryer earns her points in my book. Glad she didn't take that kick laying down.
Funny, this reminds me of how the little red-headed girl might grow up to be from the "Yakuza's Guide to Babysitting." LOL

Looking forward to next week.

Damn, that fight scene was crazy. They did a great job at portraying Kirishima's violence and cruelty. Also that song before the ED went surprisingly hard?

They ended last episode on that cliffhanger, but they revealed that she actually sold her kidney?? Some of her actions make it feel like she's not even pretending to be a psycho to get Kirishima to like her, and she's just having rage moments every now and then. But that scene where she bonked his head was quite nice tho, so hopefully it's mostly intentional.

Ok this shit was CRAZY. Lmao I did not think we would see people getting their eyes stabbed out and killed in this show. I thought this was a toxic romance with the yakuza stuff in the background, but nah they’re going hard into the gang shit. Yoshino and Kirishima were going crazy in that club.

Kirishima’s anger is insane, bro been beating up people older and stronger than him for years now and even when going up against grown ass gang members bro feels no fear. The look on my face when he took out that fork and stabbed buddy..

For her part, Yoshino did well too. She might act refined at times but when she get mad that Kirigaya-gumi come out lmao. It is a little funny how much of a square she can be at times tho like when she went in the club and saw people kissing and got shocked. ALSO, wtf she really sold her kidney? I thought that was just a joke damn.

Looks like we got a new love rival showing up 👀 things should get really interesting from here. Still not understanding the art style
Complaints this shit looks so pretty.

Still bugs me that all the main protagonists look like people in their mid 20s but wear highschool clothes. It feels like 90s soapoperas with 30-somthing actors playing the role of late teenagers.

I feel that the only reason I'm still watching this trainwreck is Yoshino, I like her strong personality, though her recklessness is also something to dislike about her.

Looks like Yoshino is not going to catch a break anytime soon. She even got into a fight in the club. Bit surprised Kirishima didn't go berserk faster.

I fear the longer she stays the here the deeper she's going to go down this Yakuza rabbit hole. Hopefully Kirishima can protect her when the time comes.

But holy cheese balls. The guy did that when he was just an elementary schooler.

Getting a bit of My Little Monster vibes from that. Wonder why he did it.

So she really sold her kidney, it wasn't a ruse. Didn't realize that Osaka and Tokyo have different voltage standards. Learn something new everyday. Looks like the other guy just appeared. Start the love triangle.

He told her to sell her body and she did. On her own terms instead of his.
She did it to show him that he can’t intimidate her.

Was it a stupid thing to do? Yes. But it was her way of saying she’s not someone you can expect to back down no matter what.
He wanted her to run home scared to her family and instead, she said ‘f*ck that, and I dare you to try again’

Did the same thing :) there are 8 volumes and unfortunately the manga is on an indefinite hiatus since October 2023…. And the last chapters were soooo good. I’m kinda pisses actually that they decided to release an anime based on a manga that hasn’t been updated for so long xd
