Jumpscares are too predictable tbh and even in live-action they feel too cheap and rarely seem scary. Anime can't really implement jumpscares either cuz it just wouldn't work in animation. But there are definitely anime that can scare you with their level of suspense and atmosphere regardless. |

| Claymore manga and Berserk manga, those creepy monsters had made me stay up through some nights ngl, lol. In anime though, they aren't that scary. |

There's no serial killer lurking outside, the chances of getting hit by a vehicle is probably higher than encountering ghosts and serial killers |

| Not any horror anime I don't find them scary but some of Junji Ito's manga really creeped me out especially the rib women one and the one with the balloons. I have tried watching the anime based off his manga but it just wasn't the same. |

| i havent found that anime yet. manga tend to be more scary but i didnt read a manga that made it hard to sleep either. many say that higurashi is scary. the interesting part there is that they dont completely show brutal scenes so you have to imagine the rest which makes it more scary |

| I never seen a scary anime, but if you get really into something that sets the mood right, like let's say Higurashi or Summertime Render, then maybe you could let your imagination play on the rest. Not that any of these would keep me up all night. Not anime, but Silent Hill 2 (video game) was kinda creepy, especially if you play it alone in the dark. |
