main girl sure has angry issues lol
the other 2 sure can take her pretty well tho, it's nice to see them becoming friends and band members

i liked the song at the end, i actually rewatched the little concert 3 times

after 3 episodes, i keep thinking this is one of the most interesting anime this season, at least from the 20 i'm watching

I like Nina's voice when she sings but goddamn is she annoying. I wonder how Subaru and Momoka can be so patient with her.

I guess I'm just not gonna understand the hype around this, especially considering that Yorukura, an anime with similar theme that's better in every single possible way is airing in the same season.
The CG isn't good, you just have no standards.
Also, Subaru's VA has an extremely annoying way of speech. So far, the rest of the cast is fine, even though they're new too, but she is just bad.

@Kenrin I'm with ya. I don't understand the hype for this series thus far. I'm honestly tempted to drop the show entirely. There is some potential, but there are so many issues that I'm worried I will just be wasting my time on something I don't enjoy watching.

The reviews from future episodes are pretty mixed so I'm torn on it.

For me, Nina is just an annoying spaz thus far. I seriously have no idea why Subaru was trying so hard to befriend her during this episode. They literally just started this band and are already having this many problems before even doing anything together as a group??? It just feels very melodramatic right now because we are 3 episodes in and the story has given us barely any background information on Nina's past so I cannot relate to her character or understand why she is the way that she is thus far. We got Mahiru's entire backstory AND Kano's backstory IN THE FIRST EPISODE in Yorukura...

I also don't like the CG either. I honestly would of vastly preferred the 2D animation they used in the OP for the main characters instead of the CG. That art looks really good! It's also looks really jarring whenever you see these 3D CG characters amongst a sea of 2D characters too.

I will say that the music in the songs themselves are really good, but the ambient sound itself during the episodes is just ok.

Lol poor Nina she's still struggling but also devoted to making music even though it's hard to keep up with her studies as well, now the three of them went and performed outside even though Ninan was obviously afraid of doing it and not ready and she even had to dress in a really weird but funny way but it worked for them, definitely sounded like a success! :D

Nina's hyper, like she can't sit still at all. But she has talent for music. Their first performance was good, liked it. Specially the animation, looked really good. Song was good too. The heck was that outfit though. Looked like something Hanako from asobi asobase would wear lol.

As an EDM enjoyer I have to say, there is no such thing as "too much"!

I can see now why they call Nina a gremlin haha.

PS: Got curious about the VAs because apparently the band exists IRL since before the anime, opened a page, birthday 2007... I dont know how to feel about that

I like this show way more then I expected. Usually music shows dont do it for me when they focus on music but I really like their songs. I dont even listen to rock, but J Rock sometimes does it for me

First gig was a success despite having no bass player, maybe if Nina picks up bass they can be Motörhead but we already know they’re getting two more band members eventually lol. But man they really went and made Nina wear that interesting choice of outfit, it kinda clashes with the band’s vibe so I don’t really like the choice, but it was good comedy at least, also they rocked so I guess it don’t really matter what you’re wearing lol, if Bob Weir can wear short shorts then Nina can look like a pop star.

Rest of the episode was good too, Nina finally warmed up to Subaru which also gave us her backstory, I also really like Subaru’s voice acting, she sounds more like a normal person than a voice actor if that makes any sense. Also the rehearsal scene was very nice, they really clicked even if they weren’t playing a song lol.

If Nina's annoying, chalk it up to her being a teenager with some serious adhd and other mental stuff going on, imo she has exactly what it takes to be a singer in a band lmao. She's giving Amy Lee at the beginning of Evanescence with those lyrics. I almost hope they don't blow up quick cause I could see that being a train wreck. Get successful enough, and you never have to grow as a person again

So I guess those lines that you see coming out of Nina when she's stressed is a visual depiction of her "rock energy". That was really cool seeing her finally let out all that built up rock energy when she runs out onto the stage singing at the top of her lungs. Singing her heart out is like therapy for her.
