Happy to have the main party back to their usual antics.

Lol, Senshi trying to teach Chilchuck about the birds and the bees...when he's already middle-aged in half-foot/halfling years, and

I see Marcille has grown a certain tolerance for dungeon meshi...at least ones she's already eaten before like when she chomped on the mandrake head like it was nothing.

Marcille being used as a pickling stone...priceless. It's a good thing nothing broke besides the eyelashes, something that will grow back. I'm glad they kept that detail in when she returned to normal and still missing her eyelashes over one eye.

I kind of wanna try that salted meat in brine now.

We've come a pretty long way since episode 2. She's not even too repulsed by the dryads.

I take it Laios wasn't just hallucinating. Perhaps the lunatic elf mage prevented the old city's inhabitants from dying for so long, stretching their lives beyond their natural limits, that they have reached the point of wishing to die and move on.

Ah the usual banter within our jokester troupe continued with the perfect cook once again from the dwarf dungeon masterchef, Senshi. He served the sad-face jack-o-lantern soup with the additional flavor of dryad pollen. Ah dungeon meshi dungeon meshi. Its works for all of them to healing up their wounded soul for the least....

To think that Laois had an affinity to do magic, but man by how he's touching Marcille, there's no way its not bothering our tall-man, smh Marcille so dense. As a result, she get petrified and become a fermentation weight xd. Also write about how she escaped the petrification tho. If only they have an alchemist with the brain of Senkuu, she could get unpetrified more faster. Alas, we talked about Chilchuck, Senshi, and Laios here. So yeah Marcille served well as the fermentation weight there,

Ah dungeon meshi dungeon meshi....

I like Laios teaching Marcille "what to do" after the basilisk bite, being actually "preparing to become a statue".... was as a good joke, but also something that make sense... since is reversible, it's essential to turn into stone in a position that make harder to break any body part

Certainly one of the best episodes in the series.
Good comedy, fun action, the animation is pretty good and feel less slideshow-y than the rest.
Was wrong at assuming they'd skip over this chapter, I thought them hugging Marcille at the start of the last episode was implying that she already got petrified and got back, and would just cut to the confrontation to save time.

euuzaik said:
thank GOD this was written by a woman

Is this referring to how despite having Marcille take her pants off and being petrified, the show doesn't actually take advantage of her?
The manga was drawn and written by a woman, but the show is a tad lewder than the manga.
The bath scene with Falin is way way more tame in the manga, and so is, in general, most depictions of her. She didn't even show feets in that chapter, unlike the anime, lol.
I don't particularly mind it, per se, but you can feel the different direction at times if you've read the manga.

compared to the last three amazing episodes we have received this one just felt like the generic, kinda boring episodes we got in the first eleven, delicious in dungeon gains more potential to be something it has the writing and the characters but it just doesn't mix well at all. I'm still really excited for the next episodes that come out

a good episode. a shame that they are trapped. Worse is that this entire cour would be just trying to get back to the surface, and then season 2 is finding Falin again.

And oh yeah, they should beat the crap of that other party.

These guys always treat Marcille so dirty lmao.

After the venture to the darker side of what Dungeon Meshi could and would be a few episodes back, it's nice to take a breather and indulge in their usual hijinks of encountering monsters and figuring out how to cook them. My favorite parts of this episode are watching Chilchuck's (29-year-old) face as Senshi gracefully teaches him about the birds and the bees, and also Laios learning some spells! I also love the little detail that Marcille now eats the mandrake head like it's just some other meatball compared to how she was horrified at them when Senshi gave it to her in the early episodes.

I went into rollercoaster of emotions from anxiety encountering the dryad flowers as I can relate by suffering from allergic rhinitis from time to time, wonder and curiosity as Marcille was explaining the fundamentals of magic and their own worldbuilding, envy and hunger while they eat and prepared food twice this episode, despair and terror as they are not out of the dungeon yet and encountering two monsters while still recovering...and the sheer madness and hilarity of the twists of those encounters, petrified Marcille as fermentation weight. ROTFLMAO

I guess it will be a while before we see Falin again at the rate her group is going. On a different note I'm not sure why Senshi felt like he had to have the birds and bees talk to Chilchuck but it was a little amusing.

@Alfredo-Sauce Half-foots are not the most common race so not everyone has met one. Senshi has been solo in the dungeon for 10 years as well. He says that he doesn't know if 20-something is young or not for Laios, but he thinks Marcille and Chilchuck are super young. Namari said a similar thing, that she can't tell how old tallmen (Falin) are. Basically, he thinks that Chilchuck is a tallman child.

No joke this was one of the funniest episodes so far. They pulled all the stops with everyones interactions. I especially like the Senshi freaking out because I haven't made a meal in the last 5 minutes. The Senshi and Chilchuck birds and the bees was hilarious. Dude still thinks him and Marcile are still children its adorable.

With literally no way to escape out of the dungeon, Laios and the gang are trapped no thanks to the elf magician, but they managed to escape...but sensing pollen from the Dryads instead to invoke even more danger where one ounce of pollen will have them killed from endless hay fever. And thankfully, they made it out alive, and even managed to find some mandrakes and dryad flowers to create food out of it. But this is not enough for Marcille, who is willing to train the others for even more impending trouble incoming.

A rather intense lesson and healing process from ancient magic, Laios is soon taken aback from mana sickness from a time where the dungeon is reshaping itself...and Marcille, Senshi and Chilchuck encountering a cockatrice is the worst enemy they could ever face, with Marcille being bitten by the serpent to turn into stone. The guys working hard to find a way to rever the petrification on her, they did so thankfully without losing much of her parts, alongside the cooked cockatrice meat, which is good to be consumed.

Marcille is quite literally taken as dungeon food, lols.

Ahahah the Pumpkin's faces were actually hilarious, especially when Marcille did the same face when she discovered it.
Chilchuck also learned the truth about humans because Senshi taught him natural science.
And Marcille was actually petrified... at least it didn't last that long.

Chilchucks reaction to Senshi giving the talk is accurate. As for Laios, I understand the urge to touch an elf's ears, I've always wondered how flexible they could be.
