I have stated this before but Anime is simply more popular when it gets dubbed and when you have multiple titles that don't even get touched to be dubbed for local distribution you're already looking at cutting how many actually watch it in half. Hentai has already been kind of a dead industry out side of Japan for a long time because no one actually buy it anymore in the west. Companies don't really even license Hentai for distribution outside of Japan anymore and anything that is found in the West is simply just due to piracy. Which is one of the reasons why Hentai has become simply apart of Japans adult video industry sometime after the 2010s. I would say rule 34 still exists but times have changed and things have become more monetized and region locked. So unless you know exactly where to look you could have a hard time finding that rule 34 is really relevant in 2023. |

| @Zekkenshin Not all decensor is done by AI. Some artists censor in ways easy to reverse like transparent bars or inverted bars are a few examples ive seen. Solid bars can be hand drawn away or with AI but i prefer if everything were true to the original artist uncensored for real. |

| Ecchi is nowhere close to dying. As long as fanbases still exist and people still decide to draw it'll always be around. Can't say much about it in a studio focused/professional capacity but ngl it kinda seemed in the bin for years anyway |

| Hentai doujins and ecchi art (pixiv) is booming but I think hentai animes have had a noticeable drop in quality in the last 4 years or so in terms of how many studios produce animation that's considered "good quality". Which is a shame since there are so many good doujins waiting to be adapted but most studios produce shittier animation than what we used to have 5 years ago. |
