It looks like Himari is determined to learn more about her family and past. Now, it also seems the show is focusing on developing Himari and Aoi's relationship. Aoi is a bit of a mysterious character but kind person.

Himari is living her life like a normal girl despite the huge change in her life. I wonder if this show will focus on each of the main guys with her one at at time.

Tell someone "don't look," and you can bet they'll do the exact opposite.

Starting her new life in the Momochi household, Himari searches for clues about her deceased parents, only to find that the mysteries surrounding them continue to deepen. Aoi seems to be hiding something, but whenever Himari tries to ask, she's skillfully evaded. As Himari spends her days with growing unease, one day, within the Momochi residence, despite being indoors, she discovers cherry blossom petals fluttering down—adding another layer to the mystery.

The previous episode gave off a shoujo feel, but this one cranks it up like 10 times more.

seriously, what is it with women and their insatiable desire for forbidden fruit? you would think they would know better after all these years... lol

I also loved how she met someone for the first time in her life and immediately started telling him a story about a nonexistent boy who lives with apparitions. the person listened without batting an eye and was just like "oh well, don't overthink it too much, happens to the best of us"

Genuinely though, the entire segment with that teacher or whoever "good-listener" that mister was, felt so out of place, that I'm literally wondering if this was their attempt to play humour.

If it was... then please just stop here lol. As for other things, textbook shoujo, "I won't leave you in your misery alone", stuff.

hoping we get something other than “im the owner of the momochi house” from himari in the next episode 😭 we get it girl

that’s just to say i’m hoping we get some more info about himari instead of her only being consistently saved but otherwise the episode was good

im a bit suspicious about the teacher but we’ll see as time goes on

Another really good episode. Nothing like a nice dose of shoujo romance to kick off the weekend. But I gotta say, things are progressing quickly with Himari and Aoi!

You can really feel the intimacy in all of their scenes together. I guess it does make sense to an extent since Aoi hasn’t had any human interaction in a decade, and Himari is obviously attractive. But it feels like they’ve known each other much longer than the few in universe days they’ve been together.

There’s definitely a lot more to things than he’s letting on and I am really curious about the truth. He’s shown himself to be a liar, contradicting himself at times.. wonder what he’s hiding. He probably knows something about her parents.

Learning that Aoi was never even supposed to inherit the abilities he did and that he basically helped Himari dodge a bullet is interesting. Honestly probably worked out for the best since if Himari got that house and job who would’ve come to save her like she’s trying to do for Aoi? Everything happens for a reason

Still kinda annoying how disrespectful Aoi’s companions are at times to Himari, like that is her house legally and they just straight up disrespect her at times lmao

If you can’t bring Aoi out into the real world, why not bring the world to him? Good idea by Himari to bring Aoi souvenirs from the town. Sweet make up session at the end between Aoi and Himari too! That hug was so passionate lol.

Wonder where things go from here

I think if I was a tween, I'd be fawning so hard over this, but I swear this has more cringey phrases/actions then other youkai romance series.
Literally was so irritated watching Himawari try to pull him out the gate a second time. Like I get it she doesn't know--and tbh I probably would do the same; but we've already clarified he has a full time job - why are we pulling him out of the shrine - where he's been living for years; like that's pure landlording at it is. Which, also I'm guessing his body dies if he makes it outside since he never existed/had his life overwritten.

Anywho, even though this series seems a bit....formulaic(?) too predictable, I am curious about everyone's growth -- and seeing Aoi behind his (tsun?) liar face; I guess he forced himself to grow up too quickly...so I'd like to see that childish side more

I was thinking the same thing! There are some scenes that I think would look really beautiful in the manga...

That's why I'm going to read the manga soon! Hahah

The pacing is way too fast, which is a shame as the base story seems okay - nothing groundbreaking but a solid shoujou nonetheless. The plot beats and character interactions aren’t inherently bad, but because everything is moving so quickly none of the characters’ relationships feel organic. The main character suffers the most from this, I think, as she comes across irrational and obnoxious when her scrutiny of the situation should be the logical reaction. This fast burn doesn’t feel warranted and it’s pushing me away from the series. I’ll stick around for a few more episodes, but if it continues at this pace I’ll likely drop this show.

Felt like they introduced 50 new ideas here. Just really fast and only on episode 2. On top of the lackluster animation it’s not great. Story isn’t bad or anything but I imagine the source handled things better.

This is the third or fourth anime today I’ve seen with a rating below what it deserves. The animation is gorgeous. That alone should push this into the 7’s. This is another example of a show for those of you that have read the manga know how much more there is to come. This is an anime story as old as time but that doesn’t make it bad. Solid 7.5 overall which will change as we get into the story.

Himari finding Aoi sleeping beside her to get some good air, it's definitely creepy. That said, the trio of young men whom Himari wants her to pay rent, everything is quite literally funded by the ayakashi. But the fact that Aoi is the Omamori-sama whom he walked on its path and became Nue by accident, it should've been Himari, but it's a blessing in disguise. All evil ayakashi will try to get close to the soul of a Momochi, and despite Aoi having to use his powers each and everytime, he always keeps her secure.

The consequence, however, is that Aoi's permanently stuck to the Momochi House, with no one the wiser. And that is gathered by both Yukari and Ise accompanying him till his final days, and not even Himari's sacrifice would help Aoi get out of his circumstances. Encountering a teacher from her new school, Himari looks to him for advice from a stranger, and brings a huge bag of items to help him find a way out of the house, regardless.

It's just the beginning of a life together, with more things in store.
