Holy shit, this episode was intense full of emotions and momentum.

I do find it kinda funny and almost meme worthy that the there's so much character carrying in the actual battle. There's also a bit of character rivalry going on as well but overall had a really good feeling to the show. I think this is one of the few series this year so far that really captured the emotions of the cast from a manga.

After dealing with the mess caused by Hulu / Disney+, we're back on track and officially starting Cour 2 this time around.

Due to the massive destruction caused by Tatiana's ability, Andy and the others are thrown into the air. If Rip escapes here, Fuuko will die. Encouraged by Andy to brace himself, Rip also gathers strength and challenges the fight. Andy fights to protect them, while Rip, utilizing ancient artifacts, relentlessly attacks. The battle against the Denier Hunt's unfolds with a back-and-forth struggle, finally reaching its climax.

I just had to mention how much I love the way Andy is guiding and cheering on Chikara as he learns to use his power. It's pretty remarkable to see the caring and understanding side of Andy, especially compared to how he was in the first episode. Tatiana's shield held strong, deflecting even Andy's strongest attack. While I'm not entirely convinced the fight had its thrilling moments, at least we know how it played out. Fingers crossed for an even more exciting saga fight next time. Personally, I thought the bout against Gina was better, but hey, maybe I'm just being overly critical or not fully grasping the logic.

Decent fight to start off Cour 2.

It’s definitely better in the manga, it seems they’re padding time to end it at a specific spot, which makes the pacing come off worse than it should be. It’s my main criticism of the adaptation other than the removal of bystanders, incredible otherwise.

I think this series has the most original fights and power system that I’ve seen in a battle shonen. Crimson bullet was such a cool climax to an amazingly directed scene by David Production. I can’t praise this show enough for the unique vibe it has. Just something about the characters, the action, it’s just different and it deserves a lot more attention!

The background art during the unrepair fight was great too.

Glad my boy Chikara is finally free to live his life how he wants to. Whether it’s as a normal high schooler with the translation necktie or as apart of the union, it’ll be on his terms.

Woah, that ending, chibi unrepair? What happened to him?

That's how I figured it was the case to entice you to watch the next episode which I just figured in just standard in most anime. Maybe it's because I haven't read the manga yet that I think the pacing is solid for the anime, though with each new episode it makes me really want to watch because I've heard it gets even better after a certain incident happens.

This show is definitely enjoyable. The lack of consistency with the abilities takes me out of it though. There’s so many things that just contradict themselves. But the characters I def. Lovable. And the plot is nonsensical but interesting enough.

@MusashiKarlsefni This exactly. Although I don't mind them making up some new stuff as filler instead of recaps, but it is what it is still a good show. If people don't like it check out the manga, obviously that doesn't have any of that.

I meant they want to end the season at a specific spot, my bad. The main issue is the amount of time spent showing scenes that we just saw, it’s not necessary which is why I say they pad all the episodes because they want to end the season a certain way.

I’m curious what the lack of consistency would be? The negation system is very complex and can be adjusted based off a negators interpretation of their or another’s power, but I wouldn’t say it’s contradictory. Pretty much all of it has an in universe explanation. Glad you’re enjoying it tho!

Nice battle and wicked sick cooperation within those newly formed Negator group which failed to realized by Rip at the end. Latla negate ability seems strong with those Chikara 'same-working-truly-negating' ability. But now Rip is rip cause no way that holed up heart gettin alive, till the end clipped hard.

Perhaps its a work of artifact, or his own negator ability which can also prevent death. Since the opposite of unrepair is actually repair, Uma works, perhaps, and he repairing himself onto the shrinkage one. The chibi Rip...

I don't get what's goin on with him, and i need to know for real if Chikara join the Union. But since Tatiana and Rie doing godly works, as a tsundere naked russian kid. I give this episode a proud.

Yo dawg, we heard you like flashbacks. So we put a flash inside your flashback so you can flashback while you flashback.

The whole pause and play fight aided by Tatiana was pretty fun and whacky. But good lord, the unnecesary flashbacks and the narrator explaining everything that happened minutes earlier was downright terrible (this isn't One Piece). It was also pretty cheap to even reuse Chikara's flashback about his parents.

I still don't understand why his bullet was able to hit him and why that then undid his repair? He was far away and that blocked the girls power but unrepair explained why Andy would not be able to beat him like two seconds before that and they never really explained it.

Finally, UnUn is back!

Seems like they're keeping the old OP and ED. I don't mind cos they're fire.

With the help of Tatiana and Chikara, Andy and Fuko beat Rip / Unrepair! Ngl the way they beat him was fire.

That ending left me with a lot of questions... I had a feeling that Rip wouldn't die that fast but why is he now a shota? I think another negator is at play here.

@Vindicater Why Andy can still kill Rip eventhough Unrepair prevent Andy from killing Rip?

Act of killing Rip is basically act of repairing/healing. Andy is simply not targeting Rip. He targeting Chikara, that's why Fuuko pull him when Crimson Bullet unleashed. Rip is simply in Crimson Bullet trajectory.

That's one big ass Orca...

Surprised they didn't have the new OP and ED debut yet. 14 episodes into a 24 episode run... Would have made sense to debut them on episode 13 since it's past the half way point, or maybe 14 because it's the first new episode of the new year, but I guess they're saving it for the next story arc? I assume that begins with 15.

That battle with Unrepair was really hype. Not only did it feature Andy's quick thinking and use of the Negator powers at hsi disposal, it presented itself in a way where it didn't feel like they pulled anything out of nowhere. The known rules were set and they managed to survive although there's 2 things to notice for next time. Firstly, Chikara may or may not join the Union although I think he probably will, and secondly Unrepair became a child for some reason, and I initially mistook him for Chikara in armor.

The mystery deepens.

This episode and honestly, the recent couple have felt way too slow. I still think it's a solid enough show for the time being but that is one thing that has been more and more noticeable with the recent few episodes compared to how frenetic the first bunch of episodes were. I don't mind if a show slows down solely due to focusing on the story itself or if the battles are really complex and time needs to be spent to explain and present stuff properly. But having a lot of padding with unnecessary flashbacks and recaps becoming longer and longer isn't the way to go. The action itself is pretty decent and the characters are still mostly good, it is just the pacing and padding that definitely has been a problem over the recent bunch of episodes. Can't say I am too bored yet with the padding since the content is still good enough to keep me somewhat engaged, but I am slightly frustrated with how the series has been adapted with the last couple episodes.

Kind of reminds me of Space Brothers where the start felt nicely paced for me but as episodes went on, no recaps became small recaps at the start, to 3-4 minute recaps not even including the opening eventually and extra padding with the post-credit segments to make the pacing worse and worse as the series went on. Still a very good anime but definitely not close to how great it could have been without the pacing issues. Undead Unluck is starting to feel that way, where it is a decent show but pacing issues could be holding the anime's potential back after a good start.

As the other guy said, he wasn’t targeting Rip, but Chikara. Negator abilities are all about targeting and intention, there are ways to manipulate someone else’s ability if you work around it, such as having them in the line of sight when targeting someone else. Usually Andy would be able to kill him without issue, but because he was still technically hit with unrepair (has only been working around it as shown back in episode 12 by manipulating it, having the intention be attacking rather than healing) he had to kill him another way. Which would be having Chikara as the target of his bullet, and Rip just being in the way as collateral damage.

It’s really interesting the way you can play around with the abilities, how you can grow them by your own imagination as to what your certain rule negation implies, and how to avoid someone else’s. It’s why I love the power system so much and why it’s my favorite. I do wish they spent more time clarifying this stuff rather than padding the time with unnecessary flashbacks and such, my one glaring issue with the adaptation.

You are the weird one here, does it make sense that due to her power she would technically be nude? Yes. Is it only part of the manga/anime becuase there is a huge amount of pedophillia in japan? And she’s not “completely” covered by hair, she’s covered by enough hair that it’s allowed to be aired and published 💀

@Vindicater He aimed for Chikara since Rip's power is all about intention it doesn't affect the laws of physics like Latla's power. Rip was just in the way.

I still don't get something. Rip stated that wounds he inflicted won't mend till he dies. IDK if this is factual or a lie, but that's what Andy & co knows. Fuuko's wound healed post-cruise ship mission.
1. Andy said that she'll be alright, Unrepair has been deactivated. How was he so sure that Unrepair was dead?
Maybe Andy suspects that Rip is lying, or there are other factors. Even then, how does he know that?
2. Unrepair is alive, albeit child-sized. Did he technically die then get revived, thus cancelling the wound persistence effect?

Maybe I missed crucial points in the episode, or it'll be explained in the next one.

1. Andy said that she'll be alright because he already started regenerating again, which was originally blocked by Unrepair, so that means Unrepair's ability stopped working

Removal of bystanders? How so?

The pacing doesn’t bother me that much in most episodes. This one was the only one so far which actually had a super random recap, after all.

But bystanders?

@IbnAurum Well technically speeaking you can be "clinically dead" but come back, and that definition is probably what they used to deactivate his ability. Having your heart shot out would probably count as being "clinically dead" as you'd no longer have a heartbeat (don't hold me to that I'm not a doctor) but if they had an artefact that acts quickly enough they can probably do something - maybe they gave him an artefact as an artificial heart or something idk we'll see next week.
