As a diehard fan of the isekais, I obviously had to start this one too. I was lucky that Crunchyroll wanted to do a premiere of the first episode.
I found the way she died a bit absurd, although that's not really unusual either.

I will be continuing the anime when it's aired on Japan despite the bad things I said because I love isekais and I'd watch even the shittiest one and also it's still too early to drop an anime

Abema streamed the episode today. It was okay I guess...the OP song Cotton Days fits for this show.

Nefertima, aka Nema is definitely the star as she is introduced. A innocent but also very polite girl. She seems to get along with everyone and has her glimmering moments, a bit more often than I had thought. Nothing too special yet but a cute start imo.

ABEMA broadcasts Episode 1 and on a week in advance of its television airing.
https://twitter.com/Anime_ABEMA/status/1734137772657745989

It's that special time of the year when ABEMA kicks off the season with its annual exclusive. Honestly, based on what I've seen so far, it seems to be the standout among the three ABEMA exclusives.

Sizuk's OP suits the anime well, but it's a generic J-pop song. The same can be said for Harmoe's ED.

Midori hardly had time to wrap her head around the idea of facing death when a god suddenly appeared, promising her a second chance along with a special gift. Fueled by a desire to escape the weariness of her tough past life, Midori found herself making an unexpected request—to find solace in cuddling with adorable, furry animals.

So, Midori was reborn into a new life as a young girl named Nefertima, armed with the extraordinary ability to be adored by all living beings except humans. This not only included animals but also majestic creatures like white tigers and dragons. Nefertima was determined to navigate her fresh start by building connections between humans and all creatures, one pet and pat at a time.

I had such a blast with Campfire cooking, and I have a feeling this one might become even more enjoyable as it unfolds. These isekais with quirky skills are shaping up to be a bit of a guilty pleasure for me.

ABEMA Weekly Early Release.

The first show of 2024 to kick off the year...and it HAS to be a generic Isekai.

Sizuk and harmoe's OST sounds decent, though a significant improvement for the former since the awful Iceblade OP, and I much preferred the latter's previous TsureKano ED.

27-year-old Akitsu Midori dying out of overwork and intervened by God to give her a second chance at life...reincarnating her at Asdyllon to determine the fate of humans, and as an exchange...she wants to pet fluffy animals. What a strong desire, with a new life as Nefertima "Neema" Osphe.

The gift of being petted by animals is a good thing, but besides Neema's pet dog Dee, encountering the sky tiger holy beast Lars who gets acquainted with her rightaway and being teased by its Ikemen owner of Prince Wilhelt and even meeting King Gauldi Russ Gache together, Neema is rather lucky she got to see the high officials already while being lost.

Even at such a young age of 3, Neema is taught magic, but her words precede her being Wilhelt's plaything...other than her black eyes being an uncommon sight. But the Osphe daughter Karnadia accidentally summoning a dragon holy beast, and Neema fighting to stop the humans from attacking it, what is exactly her point for defending it?

Nema is palatable as a character...but the entire show, apart from it sounding like fluff, certainly doesn't look like fluff.
I can definitely see why this show got a "significant" delay last year.

That was literally a fluffy start to the Winter 2024 season.

I want my very own sky tiger. Lars is so cute and fluffy. :3

That ED is so adorable. <3 The very first ED of the season and probably the best one.

I'm afraid that after an episode or two it wouldn't make any difference whether the MC is an alien or was born in the new world. And then it will be an ordinary "Isekai" series.
upd
Ok, I was wrong. It happened in first 10 minutes. I don't see an adult woman 27 years of age. Oh, ffs, was it really so difficult NOT to use "isekai" element. Just let a girl be born in the world who learns magic to tame animals and non-humans.

such a cute first episode. great start to 2024. lars is so adorable and the prince is a sweetheart. i can't wait to see the 3 of them together more. nema will probably make a pact with the dragon, no? then everyone will know about how much animals love her, which idk is a good or bad thing. very much looking forward to the next episode.

It's dumb and cute, so I'l probably enjoy it. But why is the de facto 30 year old woman acting like the 3 year old people think she is? Kind of defeats the whole point of it being an isekai.

"I read this light novel about 3-4 years ago. It had excellent world-building but lacked depth in the plot, relying heavily on cute and wholesome moments between Nefertima and cute beasts. Initially enjoyable, these moments became repetitive, leading me to drop the novel.

After watching the first episode of the anime, I found the animation to be bland, and the character designs felt generic. However, the opening and ending were good and suited the show's narrative. The ending animation was particularly well done. But, in the anime, Nefertima (the main character) feels like a cringe-inducing, annoying, and irritating brat compared to her portrayal in the light novel.

I think this anime caters to a specific audience that enjoys the cuteness of a chibi little girl and animals. With so many good fantasy/isekai shows airing this season, I believe this anime might get overshadowed. However, if the adaptation captures the world-building of the light novel, it could turn into a fun and enjoyable show."

First episode was cute though. I like those smug, cute faces of Neema. Seems like a wholesome series. Hopefully it will stay that way. But the "God" did say like "I'll make it so creatures other than humans will like you". Seems to me others like her as well.

No, I'm not perfect, but I hope you see my worth
'Cause it's only you, nobody new, I put you first
And for you, girl, I swear I'll do the worst

If you stay forever, let me hold your hand
I can fill those places in your heart no else can

Was this being an isekai necessary? Could have just been a regular fantasy show. Her isekai'd self seems to have regress mentally so it doesn't even look like her previous life mattered.

Ending was cute at least.

I loved the ending credits but the rest... eh. The story after she was reincarnated was pretty cute, but I don't think the reincarnation element was at all necessary- I mean, she got reincarnated as a kid and spent the whole time acting true to her perceived age? maybe it makes more sense later but based on ep.1 alone it irritated me that the story felt the need to cash in on the isekai gimmick when all it did was add a weirdly dark tone at the start which didn't match the cute, upbeat rest of the episode

Based off this episode, it seems to me like this is going to be an anime with a lot of gaps when it comes to explanations and the mc is always going to make random actions that aren't logical at all and even completely run counter to statements she's already made, but it'll be enjoyable as long as you ignore it.

It's cute but....does the "all humans hate her" part of her power actually kick in at some point? Cuz the prince seemed to warm up to her pretty quick that I was a bit surprised.

Well....guess it's just plot armor/ineffective against the prince...
Also think it's a bit odd they started the plot at "just turned 3 yrs old" and not 4 or 5 but I guess I'm nitpicking...

EDIT: Misinterpreted the phrasing, but my surprise over how fast he took to her still stands.

Am I crazy or was the soundtrack really oddly mixed? The music was so loud at points that the voices were drowned out, I could barely hear what the characters were saying.
Nema has a really cute design though (I love those chunky legs, like Nene from Hanako-kun) and the concept seems comfy; I look forward to seeing where it goes storywise with her ability and the dragon that was summoned at the end, but even if it doesn't do much it'll be nice to watch for the fluff and moe alone. I didn't look closely at the cast apart from the lead (I like Ai Kakuma, which heavily influenced my decision to pick this up lol), but Toru Furuya (Amuro from Gundam) as her dad was a very pleasant suprise.
