An extremely fun, beautiful, and well animated movie
“I love heroes, but I don't want to be one. Do you even know what a hero is!? For example, you have some meat. Pirates will feast on the meat, but the hero will distribute it among the people! I want to eat the meat!” - Monkey D. Luffy

This anime is full of moe!! and I loved it! there are some moments that so hilarious like when the water in the sea is higher than their house but they did not frighten, Lisa still drive to their house even if it is super dangerous! Ponyo as a fish then became human and then they still think that it is normal! hahaha they didn't shock when they know that Ponyo is a goldfish.. And i cringe on Lisa and her husband moment, flashing words using the light (i don't know what they are called).. I love it all! so many hilarious moment but still I love it! my favorite movie of Studio Ghibli :)

Hmm the very last scene was a bit abrupt but overall I really liked it. The animation was top-notch, characters were very nice esp. Sousuke, Koichi and Lisa. Ponyo was very cute, too. High-quality Ghibli work.

What a wonderful movie, music and animation was great. And the story was just all around wholesome. I really like how there really was no villain, and it was just pure fun and wholesomeness.

Well what can I say, this is definitely most children targeted Ghibli film out there. Of course I found it being very good, animation and music are top top level as always expected. The story might have a little flaws and feel flat in certain places but overall it is very nostalgic and memorable expierence that is worth rewatching some time later in life. This still is great film for children that actually has a lot to offer.

8.3/10 is my score for this

Damn, what an interesting anime movie! I love Studio Ghibli. Also, the underwater scenes with the mountain roads were aesthetically pleasing.

Studio Ghibli sets the bar so high but they still manage to outdo themselves in each movie. Ghibli movies are literally visual and auditory therapy lmao, best scenes and best soundtracks. Ngl the music feels like hearing a play or smth. Great comfort movie.

In my quest to watch all the big Ghibli movies, this is one of the last couple I had yet to watch until today. I remember it being advertised A LOT on Disney Channel when it was dubbed, before I started watching anime, but a little late for me to really be interested in watching it. However, I had an itch to check it out.

Movie was alright overall, I wasn't exactly excited or gushing over the plot or the characters or anything. It's biggest positive was the animation, specifically the shots of the underwater sections near the end of the film, like the front yard being underwater and the mountain road being underwater. Those shots were beautiful. The bitter old lady trying to swim in the senior center surrounded by the jellyfish got me to laugh out loud. Lisa was the best character, very calm in the face of danger, almost to a fault (her driving is NUTS with her kid in there!), but without a doubt a great mom figure for Sousuke and Ponyo.

I think the film kind of falls on the lowest ends of Ghibli films that I enjoyed, close to Totoro. Not a bad movie by any means, I still enjoyed it, but Ghibli has better movies out there.

that might actually be the highest effort animation ever, maybe even higher than Redline. the art detail itself was lesser but still, pure visual bliss, and just a just simple charming feel good movie throughout.

Solid take on the Japanese version of the Little Mermaid. Featuring Ponyo, a goldfish and not a mermaid. I didn't understand some aspects of the story like the father and his introduction to the story. It looks like he's a cruel, underwater magician to his children. But I like the overall story, and how it ended. It's a solid 9/10 for me. I wonder why today's anime isn't as aesthetically pleasing as this movie, maybe because of budget, or it's becoming today's standard that the market aims for mass production instead of quality.

Also, I'm not really a fan of Miyazaki, so I don't know where these hate comments are coming from but the overall movie is 9/10.
