the movie was really good! we finally got to see what happens with Kaede, and how she faces herself with this Reality.
And as always, Sakuta kicks in with his Perverted Jokes to Mai-san, and it was hilarious!
aside from that, we got to see Uzuki, which had a really interesting Personality...
9/10, really entertaining!

Saw this film at Anime Expo and I have to say it was great to be back with these characters. It’s been a long time now since dreaming girl came out and I think everyone will appreciate the very personal story about the growth and acceptance Kade goes through in the film.

Needless to say Sakuta is as Rascally as always and there are some great moments he shares with all of the girls of the series. That being said this is a Kade movie first and the cast size is relatively small. Most characters only get a cameo appearance in the film.

The Music is incredible as always and there were some great new themes used in the film to build the tension needed for this kind of story. I will say now that the film isn’t as intense as the major conflict of the previous film but it I feel this is for the best. The intimate moments especially those between Sakuta and Kade make for a great character drama that is very emotional and satisfying to watch.

It's been a while since I've seen any content from the series, so it was nice to see the show take its time re-introducing the cast for us. I really feel like this should have been a 40-minute special instead, the movie felt a little long at times and uneventful.

Kaede's such a sweetheart, though. I love how her friend just summarised it to, "it's amazing that you spent so much time to decide on your high school." I couldn't help but feel like she literally just abridged the entire movie right then and there, xD. Seeing her breakdown after seeing a possible classmate of her's and then going on to say that to Sakuta... Yeah, that was quite something.

A pity that the best friend didn't get any screen-time in this movie whatsoever. More Futaba-chan scenes would've been nice too.

Got some sweet little souvenir from the theatre & CloverWorks studio that certainly made my day.

I thought it was a good movie even though it wasnt long, theres definitely some scenes that they can cut. Btw i didnt like how they end the movie, felt out of place ngl. However, the credit scene thooo. I mean sakuta did mentioned abt it with futaba in the middle of the movie but im still confused on this part and the credit scene. Oh well, lets hope the next movie will be well animated because i didnt like in the animation department, need some polishing cloveworks.

When someone said this movie just there to fill the gap between previous movie and the next one, I should've believe them.

Well, overall it's watchable... At least. I give it a plus score since I genuinely cried at some parts and scenes. For me who watched it at the cinema, it's kind of time wasting.

It was a pretty quiet movie compared to its prequels. Likewise, I still love the interaction between the characters and the post-credits scene made me quite curious, I am intrigued with the next movie, we will see what will happen.

I think season 1 of the anime was a 10/10 but this movie was slow, it was not "cinematic" and it seems to me that kaede didn't resolve her personality issues. It was pretty much a telling on her journey of coping and healing after coming out as a hikikomori. The movie failed in its attempt to make me feel sad when they did flashbacks of kaede's old personality but the anime came out so long ago that I had forgotten about it.

It did look realistic how a little girl would run away from adversity when she was challenged with what she wanted to do with her life.

Been a while since we got something from this series so was really happy to watch the movie. The starting part with Mai san was really fun and amusing. It's so fun just watching their interactions. As for the main part of the movie which was focused on Kaede, it was painful to watch her struggle but I'm glad she was finally able to accept her past as part of herself and make her decision independant of her otherself. Though I really miss the other Kaede, she was a such a sweet girl. The post credit scene, Mai san graduated. So no more Mai san in school uniform and we won't get more school stuff of them, sad. Ending also connects with the next movie, looking forward to it.

It was nice to have this anime back since the ending of the first movie four years ago back in 2019...... but this Little Sister Movie was weak movie. But it was an alright movie, dont get me wrong.

Im surprised that this movie even got released in theaters in Japan considering it wasnt an impactful movie or anything like that. Thankfully we didnt have to wait much for the discs to be released once this movie aired in Japan.

I guess this pretty much does it for the Little Sister Double Personality Arc.

it was just okay, i guess. some kaede troubles. damn she really interrupted that mai and sakuta moment in the room though lol. not sure if my memory isn't serving me right but the visuals here seemed like a downgrade, especially how mai looked. or could just be me since i didn't rewatch anything before this.

Did most of us have to cope with Google-translated subtitles? I didn't know that taking Spanish in high school would help this much lol

Anyway, it was a solid movie. I already read the light novel adaptation earlier this year, but most of the Kaede moments still hit me like a truck. As always, I wanted more Mai and Sakuta moments but you have to accept the bare minimum ig. The next adaptation was one of my favorites to read, so I hope it delivers on the big screen.

I wonder what they'll do with the next two light novel volumes after Knapsack Kid though.... I don't think Lost Singer deserves a movie adaptation so maybe they'll just merge it with volume 11.

The first and last scene literally foreshadow the next movie lol, I wish I could watch the movie without knowing the sequel is already announced, if only I could get myself to read novel/light novel/manga so I can get a genuine first reaction
In the series kaede is the one who wakes up sakuta, in this movie it's the other way around. Things definitely change a lot, but the movie is emotional as ever like the first one

I remember the prequels to this movie like a fever dream, I've forgotten 90% of it.
I guess I'll have to watch the series again to appreciate this movie?

It was kind of boring, the dream sequence on the beach was honestly the most interesting thing about this movie.

Good movie more focused on Sakuta's imouto. In JHS, I know that feeling about school. It's kinda relatable. Well, I'm excited to see the next one. The knapsack kid. The ending song still hits.

Just finished it. That ending fukashigi no carte version...Cloverworks knew what to do! that was a plus one on the final score (7+1)

In fact, if Cloverworks was so busy they should have given this to A1 Pictures (which in fact as seen in credits had to do lot of the work).
A so - long awaited sequel should not be treated like this, didnt like the animation, lots of little mistakes. Didnt feel as solid as the previous one.

And im really worried about the next one, the score is even lower than this one when it was released...

I will never understand the hate train this Anime receives on other platforms coff coff tiktok coff coff it's so good and it's actually sad that people just saw the first episode, saw a girl in a bunny suit, and took their own opinions for the whole show instead of actually watching it..
Oh well, I really like the movie tho i kinda forgot that Kaede lost her memories before :") this made want to maybe read the light novels

Not quite the level of the previous entries to the franchise, but still enjoyed it. The music does hold up

The version of Fukashigi no Carte with Yurika solo but both Kaede voices was a nice touch

If Minegahara was that difficult to get into, bit of a mystery of how Sakuta got in

The Mai banter and faces was all I needed

Damn, what a good movie, pure development, no strange things and a closure to Kaede's "arc", nice.

I liked that Sakuta acted in a more mature way, implying that everything that happened before was not in vain, that is character development 🚬.

The animation is beautiful from start to finish, worthy of this anime without a doubt.

The next one looks interesting, especially because of the post-credits scene, it seems that the adolescence syndrome is going to return, ugh, we just have to wait xd.

Watching a person struggle and endure as they try and overcome their situation in life, if it's presented in such a smart, caring and nuanced manner, it really can make for a great watch. It's heartwarming, uplifting and at times crushing, but it's always great to see even a little bit of success or development, which is what we got to see in this film. It's just fucking good for the soul man, you want her to succeed, you feel what Sakata feels, etc. I definitely feel a bit vulnerable when it comes to stuff like this. Might be my fav of the franchise so far. 9/10.

Pretty much just 3 episodes combined into one, was pretty great, had pretty less of futaba and konimi which wasnt that good, but honestly this one was pretty much a normal bit of slice of life, which is great because having something supernatural happen every week isn't that interesting. Anyways onto the next big thing, lets see when the movie gets released overseas.

It started with Sakuta dreaming of a younger Mai, but end up seeing that same younger Mai in real life.

Anyway, I enjoyed it as much as the previous movie, but my source of enjoyment is different.

The previous movie felt like a roller coaster. Sometimes it's going somewhere then an unexpected event hits you. The stakes are higher: it's a matter of life and death.

In comparison, this one is pretty chill. Yes, there was some drama involving Kaede and realisations that help her grow. But overall it's a pretty normal, slice of life movie.

I think this movie is aiming for social commentary regarding conformity v expressing your true self.

This has been touched in previous arcs, but this is especially relevant for Kaede.

Let's call Kaede A the original Kaede, who was bullied, who was not present for most of the anime only to return again. Kaede A is the subject of this movie.

Kaede B was the Kaede who lost her memories of school. She was the Kaede we met in the anime, and perhaps the most endearing.

Back to Kaede A, since she feels that Kaede B was more beloved by Sakuta and others, she felt pressured to fill the shoes of Kaede B. This includes being able to study at her brother's high school.

It was a bit of misdirection that some of us are led to think that attending Correspondence School mean that Kaede A is not capable. But that's not the case as she was able to be accepted in her brother's 高校.

On the contrary, choosing to go to Correspondence School meant expressing the unique qualities of Kaede A, that Kaede A is better off being Kaede A and not trying to be Kaede B or somebody else.

I suppose aside from her brother and his harem, Kaede A is also lucky that she has a supporting school counselor and that other girl from the idol group, who demonstrated that expressing tour unique gifts is better.

There were some moments where I thought it was kinda slow, but I don't think that effected the movie too much.

Maybe should even give 6/10 ..
centered around most boring and lame character Kaede 2.0 or Kaede original
no real Puberty syndrome as other Kaede didn't pop up.. nor they merged.. nor she healed at all.. more like a slice of life
not enough Mai !

This movie is like if a new Harry Potter book released and featured a story that featured a scene or two of characters mentioning Hogwarts in passing, only to be a completely magic-less rom-com about Hermione's mom mistakenly thinking her husband is cheating on her, hi-jinks ensue. Could it be fun? Sure. Is it Harry Potter? No.

Actually, no. It's even dumber.

Oh man, we want to tell a story about this character's inner struggles in this series all about the characters' inner struggles being made manifest through supernatural phenomena. I know! Let's make a story about this character's inner struggles WITHOUT any of it being manifest through supernatural phenomena. The studying montage and wordy advertisements for online schools are gonna be a fine substitute, right?

Look, I would've loved Kaede being the focus again in this way, but the movie goes out of its way to remind us of the Adolescent Syndrome thing by having the characters talk about it at the slightest excuse (wow, a dream that was weird, must be supernatural, that never happens), and then says "lol jk, that's the next movie".

Essentially, this movie is NOT part of the series it claims to be a part of. Yes, it has the characters and the continuity, but it betrays the entire premise. It's a fanfic-esque spin-off. Perhaps it's an adaptation issue and Kaede's school choice was a grounded B plot to a light novel with an actual supernatural element in its main story, I dunno, I never read the novels. Either way the movie, while decent as a story on its own, is awful as part of its continuity.

It maintains the same production values from the anime series. I guess as both money saving decision and a familiarity decision as to not break the immersion on the aesthetic.

You know... When you compare in western cinemas what we have in our disposition to watch at this moment, what do we have? Braindead CGI fests with dumb monsters? The same horror production about the antichrist in a church location? Then we have this light novel adaptation from Japan. With calm production values and a narrative about a girl trying to overcome her anxieties that bring injuring consequences to her body, what a quiet and calm time I had in this double feature. I loved everything about it.

From the title I thought initially that the premise was gonna head somewhere else but to my surprise it centered around Kaede re-entering school and more so coping with her other lost self's relationship with Sakuta. He was really emotional during that breakdown as he was on the season when her initial conflict developed. I can feel Kaede's frustration at the time of her exam but the fact that she wa not only able to choose a school for herself but with the support of everyone was very sweet.

Can't get enough of that ending song.
