Tanoshii Muumin Ikka was huge where i live when i was growing up. Everyone who grew up in the 90s, 00s and the 10s knows about that show and it's still fondly remembered.

Apparently Doraemon is extremely popular in Vietnam, I was not born there but my parents and past generations were.

Yu Yu Hakusho: Ghostfiles
Dragon Ball Z
Slam Dunk

...there were others as well such as Cardcaptor Sakura, InuYasha, Doraemon. But the first three were the ones I often heard being talked about by my childhood friends and neighbor kids/teens back then.

Doraemon and Shin-Chan were the most popular ones. There were also others like Ninja Hattori, Kiteretsu and of course Dragon Ball.

There was a Toei anime called Ikkyuu-san that was very popular in some parts of Thailand about a Buddhist monk. My mother grew up with it and re-runs of it were still airing on TV when I was a toddler (I don't live there anymore though so I don't know if it's still remembered now). Doraemon was popular too.

Yup. Pokemon, beyblade, dbz and Doraemon.
Pokemon and beyblade had such a huge craze that pokemon cards and beyblades set used to sell in plenty of toy store or even stationary stores. Dbz's merch wasn't around but it's craze was big amongst kids and teenagers. Doraemon is still loved by adults who used to watch it as kids.
If you enjoyed the time you wasted, then its not a waste of time.

DragonBall, Pokemon, Digimon, YuGiOh, BeyBlade, Bakugan, Naruto when I was growing up.

Nowadays, the ones that are popular among the younger generations...I see them wearing hoodies and t-shirts around with Naruto, Attack on Titan, Death Note, One Piece, Boruto, Jujutsu Kaisen and Demon Slayer.

I grew up in Canada and there were quite a few anime popular over here. Dragon Ball, Sailor Moon and Cardcaptor Sakura come to mind. There's a fair bit of overlap between what was popular in the US when I was growing up. The anime landscape here at the moment is mostly recent stuff. Kimetsu no Yaiba, Jujutsu Kaisen, Spy x Family, and Oshi no Ko are really popular here. I've seen a surprising amount of Spy x Family merch in non-anime stores here.

@Russian_weeb Same here in the Balkans. Surprisingly massive for what was basically a cult classic over in Japan. Hear most of Eastern Europe likes it quite a bit, too.

Speaking of a rarity, Madou King Granzort is very well known amongst 90s kids here.

Aside from Voltron + the trash-vertisements like Pokemon, Yu-Gi-Oh! and Bayblade I guess the cultural osmosis ones - Dragon Ball Z, Naruto and Bleach...but also for some reason Shaman King which aired on one of the national TV channels became really big too. Looking at some posts above I guess similar thing happened in the whole Eastern Europe.

Of course I never liked those, since I prefer different genres (also the sci-fi in Dragon Ball is laughable).

By the way stuff like Samurai 7, Gankutsuou, FMA, Darker Than Black and D.Gray-man aired too, but never became that popular.

Yes. Doraemon and Detective Conan are so popular in Indonesia especially for 20+ years old fans because the show already aired for long time and if the adults have kids, they will make them watch the show too

In Poland was popular [had to check some articles about past stuff]:

Chiisana Viking Vickie
Mitsubachi Maya no Bouken - it has great opening from Wodecki [*]
Sinbad's Adventures
Kagaku Ninja-tai Gatchaman
Mahoutsukai Sally
Yattaman
Captain Tsubasa
Dragon Ball - Polish TV was using French dubbed opening, no idea why.
Sailor Moon
Pokemon
Naruto
Bleach
Shaman King - Polish opening is unbeatable
Yu gi oh

As besides Netflix I have no idea if there are any kind of legal sites with anime [to also verify the popularity] so I'll use the information on which animes were most searched in Poland in 2022:
Naruto
Pokemon
Demon Slayer
Jujutsu Kaisen
One Piece
Attack on Titan
My Hero Academia
Death Note
Naruto Shippuden
Dragon Ball

In Chinese-American. I don’t know all the anime that is popular in China. But Doraemon and Crayon Shin-Chan (or La Bi Xiao Xin) is really popular. My family also had DVDs for Sailor Moon, Cardcaptor Sakura, and Hana no Lunlun. I think Detective Conan is also massive. But I didn’t watch it as a child.

In the US, I think it was basically what come on the CW4Kids. Like DBZ, Sonic X, Kirby, Yu Gi Oh. I thought sailor moon was really popular too, but it might be an older generational thing bc turns out a lot of my peers didn’t know it. Oh yeah and Pokémon (though that wasn’t 4Kids).

I am from Argentina and from the 90s, at that time Dragon Ball, Sailor Moon, Saint Seiya, Captain Tsubasa and a little later Pokemon dominated.

Nowadays the most popular, by far, is Naruto. Then come Dragon Ball, One Piece and Kimtesu No Yaiba.

Pokémon and Dragon Ball when I was a kid.
Also Yu-Gi-Oh!, Bakugan and Bleyblade.
But I heard back in my parents days Doraemon, Heidi, Kodono no Omocha and Mazinger were pretty popular.
