| I get the feeling that William's father knew exactly what he was doing when he was saying those things about the gentry/upper class versus the common/working class in front of Emma & while it may not be something out of place to say historically, it still makes me want to smack him. |

| I felt so horrible for both William and Emma in that last scene... :\ And when Emma was at the marketplace and that grocer was saying that there was no point for women or girls to go to school - that was sad. It's kind of a nice reminder that things have changed so much (thank heavens!). DX |

But an educated lady = refined, no? William and Emma make such a fine couple, but it's sad to know that they probably won't end up together. We're just watching it play out now. :/ |

| As soon as William’s father spitted that utter b*llsh#t about knowing one’s place I knew he was trouble. Look I know this anime take place in the old age (social status and whatnot) but for an educated person like him to talk like that is cringy… and talking about cringy William is no better because he kept quiet all the time his father was talking with his love interest hearing nothing in her defense… *Sigh* |

| Noticed a mistake in the subtitles; William's sister mentions "The Death of King Arthur" but while written in Middle English the title of the book is in (ungrammatical) Middle French; Le Morte d'Arthur. It's an important work of English literature so it's a shame the subtitles name it wrongly by just re-translating the Japanese translation; I guess they didn't know what book it was referring to. It was also odd hearing William's father saying the upper and lower classes share the same language when, while they are of course both speaking English, the accents and usage of the language differed quite a lot between the social upper and lower classes. |
| @Fronzel You should watch it in English dub. I know lots of people hate Eng dub but in case of Emma I think Eng dub sounds much better then the sub. Moreover they have used British VA and it's really sounds great with British accent. I just feel like shearing my opinion with you. Anyway enjoy the show its really great. |

Vivian even mentions she wants to look at Beardsley's illustrations; this edition of Le Morte d'Arthur was published in 1893 so it gives a good notion of when this series is set, too.
