Just watched this at the first screening in Japan! It's so good to see Hibike! Euphonium again after so long. I might've forgotten some side characters though, so I will definitely rewatch the entire thing before the next season comes out next year. It was pretty good. Plot wise there wasn't much development. But it was great seeing Kumiko and the gang again, and their interactions. A 7/10. Edit: Just rewatched it with subs. It improved the viewing experience by quite a lot, I guess my Japanese still has a long way to go. Bumping this up to 8/10! Can't wait for spring for S3 ^^ |

Just watched it in the theater in Japan. Feels like another filler, but better than previous movies, and it’s good seeing the characters again. 7.5/10 |

It was nice to see the cast back and more Kumiko-Reina moments. And of course, the cinema was going to be full, lol. Definitely underestimated that and nearly missed a few minutes of the movie. Seeing Kumiko demonstrate more on her innate leadership skills was really cool as well, and Reina’s jealousy made it all the better, lol. Such a tease though, we all knew they’re going to be together but the team sure kept us waiting for it. Not much to see for Sensei fans sadly but we got one instance of Reina’s bubbly eyes, lol. Natsuki-sempai back too, oh why was it so short… All in all, this felt more like a special but the last bit announcing what’s next did it for me. 7/10 Season 3 announced for Spring 2024! A nice extra episode before 3rd season. Always loved Kumiko-Reina interactions, really like Reina got her screentime back. Was/still a bit concerned about ensemble strength, but seems like they are steadily getting ready. Can't believe it has been 8 years! Was so happy to see the 3rd season announcements and can't wait to see the ending of Kumiko's journey! 8/10 |

Kumiko's pulling off the presidential role better than I expected Unfortunate that we don't get to see the performances Only the first 2 movies are recaps |

8/10. Visually stunning as expected from KyoAni. An adequate appetizer and a nice bridge to Season 3. A bit streamlined at times, but better paced than the third movie. Kumiko as president honestly works well, she has some solid leadership qualities. Nice scenes with Kumiko and Reina as well, we all knew they'd be in the same group. Some of that jealousy was funny. Looking forward to Season 3 in April! |

Realized how much i really missed Hibike Euphonium after a couple of minutes. The little details on characters' expressions are amazing as always. Kumiko seems awkward as a president on the surface but she is actually great at building up the members' morale, serving as a balance towards the more strict Kousaka. I was afraid Kumiko won't end up in one team with Kousaka, and was relieved after seeing the invitation scene. So they didn't get to compete, but i'm satisfied knowing that they at least won the public vote. Kanade's team getting second place for both votes was funny, they must've felt very annoyed about that. Each team were presented through a "slideshow" alongside the audio of Team Kousaka's audition, probably because animating the entire performance would take longer time, but i don't mind. Better to do that rather than half-effort animation, so KyoAni can focus as much as they can on season 3. I genuinely hope they will win gold at their last competition. |

I find this underwhelming. You watch the movie with the buildup for the contest just for it to play 15 seconds of music looking at still backgrounds. Then to cut to the result. I enjoy listening to the music in these types of show but it felt like there was no pay off. Of course I’m not mad about the results I just wanted to see the full performance they did. Or am I alone in this? |

the yuribaiting is strong with this one. we get reina and kumiko teasing each other. i was not expecting the drama to be spedran like that, i thought it would just be a whole thing in this movie but it got resolved pretty quickly. this just showing the daily struggles of being the club pres now even more from kumiko's pov. lots of cute moments in this ova. She's pretty skilled at opening windows |

So much for the ensemble contest lol, didn't even show it cause the portagonist team didn't win. Very misleading title. Anyway this movie/ova was mainly some more characterisation and intermission/buildup for next season. Not much happened except a few characters getting a bit of spotlight and just more Kumiko. Was somewhat boring but just when it got a bit interesting it ended. Not much music either. Also did Kumiko just jinx it? Someone better than her might appear? She really is a great girl btw. Adorable. Idk whats up with happened after season 2. The last movie and this both were very so so and made me lose a lot of interest in the series. The senpais were the best part of the show for me and it's sad to see what has become of the show after they left. I sure hope things will be better in s3 but not expecting a lot. Does this take place after the third movie or is more or a side story? |

Interesting how introduction for a new sesason. The Characters evolved and now have new roles and new characters appears to help! It's a shame that there was no music, I've missed it. 6/10 kekeke |

Although she doubts herself, Oumae really does have the traits of a good club president. She pays attention to people and figures out what they need, seeks compromises, and keeps track of the social dynamics. And it sure is nice to see the yuri intensifying. The only thing that kept this from being a 10/10 was that we didn't get to see any complete performances. I would have loved to hear at least the top two winning ensembles in entirety! I love that even for its OVA/non-seasonal stuff, KyoAni pulls out all the...valves?...when it comes to the art and animation. Can't wait 'til we get to finish off the epic journey in April! |

No offense but who the hell are those girls from the clarinet group? All that buildup with Kumiko's group and Natsuki/Yuuko/Nozomi joining the competition just to have a group of cute NPCs being the winners? Seriously? Anyways, still a rather enjoyable watch. Better paced than the "Chikai no Finale" movie and seeing Kumiko as the new Club President ended up working out better than I first imagined. Despite my initial skepticism, it seems she can actually pull it off. 7/10 - Pure yuri-bait yet Kumiko and Reina's relationship and interactions continue to be miles better than most official GL works out there. |

I just finished my first watch of this arc and man I am once again screaming that I'm so ready for season 3. There were so many cute moments in this OVA, too many to count but I wanted to pick a few out that really caught me. - The Mizore x Kumiko moment with them being on opposite sides of the window was absolutely perfect LOL. Mizore is so awkward and hard to talk to but she's genuinely sweet. I love Kumiko being so thrown off by the comment "You're good at opening the window." I know this had a little deeper of a meaning behind it with her being the band president but in that context it was just hilarious. - Natsuki is one of my favorite characters in this series and getting to see her in this OVA was a treat. Her fight with Yuuko was great and their dynamic feels so real and relatable. Like two close friends that are so comfortable with each other they say the harshest things to each other lol. - The last shot at the park with the 4 girls who always walk home together was just a beautiful send off. Also Reina buying that chocolate bun knowing she doesn't like sweet stuff was funny because I am literally the same when it comes to sweets. Overall this was great for supplemental content for the series. I'm kind of mad at myself for not watching it sooner but at the same time I'm glad I re-watched the series from the start before I caught this OVA. |

Not bad, but also not very good. Loved the music used in the OVA. Seeing Kumiko and the rest of the boys and girls back brings me more happiness than another concert of Aqours. After I rewatch the Finale movie I'll finally be ready for 3rd season. Unless some indie company called Crunchyroll leaks the first two episodes and now I will have to wait 3 weeks for new content... Good OVA, 7/10 |
