I just started laughing so hard when Rudeus cried into Roxys panties.

I expected him to pull out Eris hair but nope its the pantsu.

Good to have this show back.

First episode in, i like it. ive seen a few reviews that have bad thoughts but personally its good. He is in a new place and with new, kind people.

The thing is, i am very sad that fukin Eris left after they banged (Pedophilia?)
and its sad that everyone is split apart. still, im intrigued to see what will happen.

The world building is phenomenal to me , it is my most liked isekai that I ever watched in my live , comparing to others like That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime , shield hero , overlord , konosuba , and many more , I literally watched already every isekai that was available to me . But for me mushoku tensei is in the top. I waited for season 2 more than for any other anime which I liked , like jujutsu kaisen s2 , demon slayer s3 or Aot. For me mushoku tensei is perfect isekai , not a single complaint for now. But many people doesn't liked the explicit scenes which were introduced , for them , if you don't liked that don't watch it's your choice but for me it was perfect by considering that it was R rated because I have peoples who where praising school prison but they where complaining about mushoku tensei which is a pure Hypocrisy because prison school have literally have scenes where they showed opened nudeness level content and explicit secene. So for me the level of explicit scenes where shown in mushoku tensei is perfect nothing more nothing less , because I don't care if other doesn't liked for them , go to hell.

I had been waiting to see this adaptation from the monga to the screen. Mainly curious what parts they choose to display and what parts they choose to leave out. BUT, that being said. I have not been disappointed with the story telling and artistry of this anime. I give it a 10/10.

I ultra dislike that he burned Eris hair ;/ he should also burn the panties, was it Roxy?
the episode and fight was nice, I like the new blonde girl, but I don't think she is like Eris, maybe Eris was like that at the start? I don't remember. Sara looks more like Rudeus sister but older.

This was a W first episode. I love how they made sure to show us the contrast between him at the start to the beginning. From the windows to lighting a fire. The handshake all of it. I was so gassed when he one-shot all 10 bears. I am so happy he burnt her hair. Let that ting go my brother. She's not good for your mental.

Anyone else feel like it was hella cursed to see Rudeus that ripped all of a sudden?? Not even a montage or anything. I sure wasn't used to that, I thought our MC was a little lacking on the physical activities side in his last life. Must've been those Greyrat genes giving him benefits. I know they skip years ahead in this anime, but a little buildup would be nice. that's not possible in a couple months' time IRL.

It's an alright episode, the new characters seem likable and we have another tsundere in the party.

And good thing Rudy got over the depression quickly since having a depressed and boring MC is not my thing.

Finally to see Rudeus snaps out of his slump and to be himself after a deathly event. It will be a chore to watch more of Rudeus in such state.

The OP song is great and had such a nice beat. It may not by Yuiko Ohara but it is a good choice nonetheless.

@FragmantLemon that's hes smallest issue, real trauma comes from broken heart from Eris leaving him after they did it, he had trauma from previous life already and was slowly recovering from it when Eris did that, ur downplaying hes issue

@Thyriad-oPPailov well its good that he burned it, its sing of moving on and sins she stabbed him in the back she deserves that

she caused him new trauma and broken heart from her leaving him after they did it, he had trauma from previous life already and was slowly recovering from it when Eris did that, so she deserves that returning to him will be made hard for her with him trying to move on, then she gets what she did when she returns, i want to see her crawling trough thorny push to finally return to hes side that he won't take her back easily

if she would have explained why she is leaving he wouldn't be crushed shell like he was in this ep so its not excuse that she left so she wouldn't hold him back and vise versa, so both of them could become stronger, in case some1 will try to defend her with that, i don't hate her but she Fed up and should get her punishment from life

@_RAFI_ having memories of previous life doesn't mean ur adult in kids body, biology sets limits to, kids body including brain isn't capable of adult maturity so my eyes roll awry time when some1 mentions Pedophilia when it comes to Rudeus :D

also Pedophilia is uncurbable mental illness where person is sexually interested in children and looses interest once child become teen

Ephebophilia is when some1 is sexually interest in teens and they loose interest once teen becomes adult, that's how the both illnesses work

and in source runy grows old with hes 3 wives, doesn't go after younger after they get to certain age

so if some1 over 18 falls for 16y is not automatically case of Ephebophilia, some life long married couples have started that way and even in countries where below 18 is illegal cause the law says sex is illegal with below 18 not dating, ofc if parents don't trust u they can get restraining order if u don't listen to them when they tell u to never see her again at least until she is 18

but to make it simple some1 whos only interested in below 18 is sick, if they lust for below 18 and cant get off from adults, this days ppl like to label anything pedophilia that they don't understand and what makes them unconfutable, ofc not u cause u asked u didn't say it is, u framed it as a question

its not black and whit like some ppl think, its ferry complicated

when it comes to real life and real ppl, we shouldn't even use this labels unless its on ppl who have been convicted in podophilic crime

What a relief this episode hasn't degraded it's production value from S1 at all, unlike episode zero "Guardian Fitz" that I just watched before this.

I know a lot of people must have not enjoyed watching depressed Rudy that much, but I found depressed Rudy fascinating! It really showed how much his character has changed and grown, he was actually way more mature than before. His inner-voice lost it's insecure overly-defensive snark, he didn't take Sara's tsundere attitude personal and emotionally react to it. There was also more of a blending with his inner-voice and his spoken voice, they overlapped more and they were working together more. This actually started in S1 finale when Rudy was really stuck in the depression hole that Eris kicked him into by abandoning him. When he gets up as his past-life self when he remembers he has to save Zenith, his spoken voice as Rudy the kid was talking while his past-life body was shown. To me this symbolized his past-life self starting to become his isekai self because before his isekai self was a front for his inner-self, and now he's becoming the person he's outwardly portraying. I predict going forward it's going to get harder and harder to distinguish his inner-voice from his spoken Rudy voice, because they're going to be one and the same eventually.

I'm glad Rudy burned Eris' lock of hair that was weighing him down. As much as I started to like and respect Eris because of her character growth, she did a bonehead move by abandoning Rudy. Her motive for leaving Rudy is noble, wanting to not hold Rudy back and to get better so she can protect him, but that lousy note she left totally made Rudy think he got dumped, especially after he slept with her (implied bad in bed). She just thinks they'll met again and everything will pick up where it left off, but she doesn't consider what's Rudy to be doing in the meantime, and especially what affect of suddenly leaving him would cause. It's an understandable classic Eris move, but I think the consequences of her actions should stick. It's unfortunate, but she should reap what she sowed, even if it was unintentional. And from the looks of the end of this episode, that's exactly what's happening with Rudy getting over her.

As for Sara, I actually don't think she's exactly like Eris; Sara hasn't shown to be violent yet, just mean and rude. They nailed some similarities with Eris, but I can see enough distinction to see she's her own person. Suzanna and the rest of the party are actually pretty likeable, I wouldn't mind seeing more of their adventures with Rudy. It's good for Rudy to be with people who are pro-actively trying to do teamwork, especially the state that he was in. It really hurt to see in S1 finale that Rudy affected everyone he met so positively, but everyone thinking Rudy didn't need help because he demonstrated himself to be so good, when in reality he desperately needed help to get out of the hole Eris put him in. It was awesome he remembered Zenith's love for him, and her needing him was what motivated him to climb out of the hole, but it's also awesome to see he wasn't magically fixed when S2 came around.

Anyways, amazing episode, and looking forward to more.

Most of people liked the first episode. And they say magic was very good. If these people saw the magic in the manga they would understand what ı mean.

To be honest: Its not a bad episode. Its just below my expectation.

Episode had some great action with the rotation shot, yeah it didn't go for the epic route since this part was more focused on Rudeus' hopelessness distracting him in battle than the actual battle itself unlike the Orsted part. Even the music was lacking at first since that reflected Rudeus' mood, which only grew once he snapped out of it and finally joined in to obliterate the monsters and help the others. It still looks cool but there are much bigger fights down the line to make in a more 'epic' fashion. Rudeus ain't supposed to be cool right now, more of an emotional mess which he was here accurately.

@MangagnaM Don't bullshit me. Does Rudeus use less cool spells because he's depressed? Although the season was generally good, a few "epic" places in the manga were messed up. That battle, that magic and the spell he cast when leaving the city. However you are praising the cinematography, direction and design choice. Yes cinematography, desing choice and direction are good, they fail to do the magic.
