| Okay, I know I've been demanding some sort of development, but for it to be like that from the very start? Boy, that really got me, lol. I thought I skipped a whole cour's worth of episodes from the series or something. I'm glad that they got over that awkward phase as a consequence relatively quickly, though we've seen enough of that in this medium already. But then came round 2, albeit with a slower build-up. This was more in line with what I was expecting, lol. Pretty straightforward from Mahiru there, huh? And that little "counting on you" signal to Chitose-san, that's good stuff! No wonder the other boys in the classroom couldn't take it, though. I'm glad the two approached it so professionally until ... well, xD. God, Mahiru-chan in aggressive mode is something to not take lightly. Seeing the confession unfold kind of left me glued to the screen, it felt so fitting, and the vibe could only be created by these two. Sweet little embrace to top it off, who needs a smooch or two when it's done so well like this? Overall, this has been a very fun watch. Mahiru is too sweet, and you've got to give credit to Amane for keeping up his end of the deal on the "promise". In general, their interactions and personality types blended in too well and gave me a real scare about getting a serious case of diabetes. And the side characters played their parts too, especially liked Amane's mother for obvious reasons, lol. Another classic song by Iwami Manaka-san, that's so hansoukou darou ~ 9/10 from here. | Aww, cute, they still had a sports event thing even in the finale. However, the main catch of the season finale is Mahiru and Amane's relationship in which they bonded over time and became more than just next door neighbors. That embrace....well, I guess this is the best of what this show can offer after all they've been through. |

| Amane and Mahiru having a physical moment early in the episode, what a coward being defeated by the lovely cheek kiss of an Angel. He may resist, but the girl is aggressive! Other than the sports day, this caught the attention of Itsuki, which infuriates him that he's just hanging around like a passive waiter. It's obvious that both Itsuki and Kadowaki were waiting for the moment of him being assertive about Mahiru, though the two hit it off with apologies after that scuffle. That said, both Itsuki and Chitose are a drama couple lols, and it just has to be coincidental that both Amane and Mahiru picked the same events, the former not being athletic and doesn't like to be forced to play along. Amane eating ice-cream on his own, and Mahiru is like a cute dog wanting some, though Amane gets flustered because he knows that he's sharing an indirect kiss with her. Honestly, never would've expected Chitose to have her own set of issues, and her being in charge of the scavenger race, it's all but a bad feeling because it's obvious that she would tag them both together...to a much devastating news that shocks all: Amane's "Someone is beautiful" as compared to Mahiru's "Someone is very dear". The cat is finally out of the bag, and while Amane obviously gets the flak from fellow classmates, he's clear about his feelings, and so is the Angel herself in her innocent eye shot power to debunk the same people disturbing him, letting her feelings be known to everyone intentionally. What's left on Amane's account is to defeat his cowardice, and once he confesses his true feelings to Mahiru, they break even, but most importantly for Amane, he can be of relief that he's proven wrong each and every time by Mahiru herself, drawing himself close to her than ever before. To treasure and to hold, that's the affiliation of the two, finally now a couple together. Fantastic ending to a fantastic show, minus Project No. 9's poor production. Definitely a wild ride that got a Happy Ending! |

| Today History Created in the Romance Anime. Finally Amane-kun Defeated his cowardliness. Finally they are together ❤️💞 So many emotions are overwhelming now. Mahiru-san kissed Amane-kun, This Scene totally Caught Me off Guard(Well I knew it from LN) 💘💕💞. They Look Good together.💕💞. "I will always treasure & cherish you".💘💕 "I will never let you go"💘💕 Amane-kun take good care of Mahiru-san. The ending was Perfect.💕💞. I really enjoyed this season/anime a lot. | I wouldn't be surprised if this anime would actually get another season at some point in the future. That ending was so satisfying and we will truly miss it! Also, enjoy this song celebrating the last episode :) |

| Better late than never. Thank god, they did not forget about the kissing scene. However, it would be way more better if they put it in the previous episode. Finally! They're a couple. This is the best possible outcome they can get. Congratulations. |

| Wow never pegged Mahiru for being the direct type. I don't think there's many people that like sports day in any school. Chitose really was a fun mc for the scavenger hunt. But wow Mahiru sure picked quite the stage to reveal her own feelings towards Amane. Given her popular she is the reactions of her fans was expected. But her interrogation was pretty fun to see. Way to turn things around. Its nice that proved to be the final push that Amane needed. Overall as a finale it was a solid one that managed to managed to make use of the best of the best result that came from the culmination of their feelings for each other. Nice ending theme as well. |

| Mahiru actually went for the kiss, that was sweet. She even gave him the final push he needed to confess and even defended him against those other guys, she's such a great girl. The confession was really sweet. I'm so happy they finally became a couple. This was a very wholesome romance anime, loved the main couple. Need more so please give us season 2. |

| This will go down as one of my favorite romance/sol anime ever. I am so glad I bought the LN's. Can't wait to read them. I feel like both Mahiru and Amane are both very relatable characters, to me personally as well. Both of them having the image cast upon them and the thought of living up to certain peoples expectations or standards just really stood out to me. Mahiru's growth throughout the series was fantastic and in this last episode was a savage!!! Her assertive nature really made me love her as a character so much. I also love how Amane said "I don't give a damn about your Angel I only care about Mahiru Shiina" Dude my BOY!!! People can bitch about the animation all they want but it was good for a nice Romance anime like this. 10/10 |

Second it would have left a little more room in this episode because the ending feels a bit anti-climactic. When V4 of the LN was published, another volume after that was pretty much confirmed so people knew the story was continuing (and there was the WN anyway), but the anime finishing things on sofa-kun maybe forever seems a bit unsatisfying. With another minute or two to spare, they could have had a post-credit sequence from near the start of V5 with Anyway, the biggest challenge now is having to wait until the next LN volume is published (yes, I know there are WN "translations" around, but no thanks). |

| I love this part of the story where Mahiru gets all devilish which breaks down Amane and him finally confessing his feelings to her. But with the way this adaptation is handled I don't feel the sweetness as much as when I read the LN Goddamnit Project No 9 the quality of your adaptations can flip-flop between decent and meh, sadly for Angel Next Door this was the latter |
| The best romance anime this season. The story was good but the production quality leaves to be desired. Seems like some stuff was rushed to end the anime on the confession but I still found it really enjoyable. All in all, very sweet and wholesome show I was looking forward to the most every saturday. I hope that someday I'll be able to get the physical LNs in japanese. 9/10 |

| Wasn't as bad as most of the other episodes in the series, but the fact they didn't kiss is very disappointing. You did so much physical touching, but you couldn't do that? One word though to describe the episode is "FINALLY". |

Any hopes I had at the start of the anime quickly vanished once I read the source material and came back to see not only much they were rushing but also not making much effort with the directing either. Hopefully, on an S2, this series gets a much better studios, it was carried only solely to the amazing quality of the source material which would have translated into a much better anime if only it was handled by competent hands. |

| So on its own this was a cute finale but just too much left out of the story for me to rate it super high overall personally. 7/10. From a purely anime perspective it was a very cute wholesome romance that left us wanting more every week. Amane and Mahiru have one of the cutest relationships around and I enjoyed seeing some of the highlights of the first 4 volumes adapted. Animation was weak and some surprisingly poor production quality from Project No.9 which was disappointing. Side characters also basically written out of the story. But it is what it is. If you liked the story the LN is the definitive way to experience this one. |

| A kiss, an indirect kiss, a Sports Day confession, and an embrace to end the series. Well...that certainly was wholesome. I've said it before in other show's discussion threads, but 2023 is really shaping up to be the year of the romance anime for me. I've got several lined up for spring, and watched at least 5 or 6 this season, not even counting Kubo-san which got delayed midway through. I'd probably rank this one somewhere near the top. I definitely loved Tomo-chan more, but then I'd been looking forward to that one for literally years. But more on that next Wednesday. As an anime-only I'd say this show attempted to take a more measured, mature, earnest, and involved look at romance. I'd say it largely succeeded. There were times where it bordered on being a bit too slow, but I suppose you could argue that adds to the realism. I also expected a heavy drama bomb involving Shiina's parents forcing her to move away or something to go off which never did. I don't mind that mind you, but it was kinda weird all the same lol. There was some humor in the later episodes about just how much the two were pretty much already acting like a long-married couple without acknowledging it. Seeing Shiina stick up for Fujimiya to the other boys in this episode was very nice as well. It's only one season through so I can't say for sure but this may have a chance of cracking my 2023 Top 10 at the end of the year. A solid 8/10. |

| Woah i really thought they went for the kiss, well at least it was sort of lol. After that stuff happened Amane wanted to avoid her actually but that didn't happen for long. Its sports day and it looks like both Mahiru and Amane doesn't like it for one bit lmao, when they come up they need to choose what is fitting for that person, Amane chose someone that he thinks is beautiful and Mahiru chose someone that she thinks is dear to her, after that the riot started lmao, people went after Amane but Mahiru came in with the save and drove them away, she's awesome. After that they are back at home, the romantic scene goes onwards. Amane FINALLY confesses to Mahiru and now they're an couple, which was awesome to see, after so long they finally got together, I wish them a happy life together. That last scene where they were hugging each other was amazing. All in all an super wholesome anime, I loved every bit of it and im glad how the final played out. |
