This might be my first sports anime, summary made me curious so I thought of checking it out.
Unlike other people I like this concept of egoist striker(but obviously yes it wouldn't work in real football), animation is good
Plot looks promising, might be one of the best this season

Literally, in the anime they say the concept is weird, they don't hide it, not even edginess of it, say something new.
Instead of complaining about it being unrealistic (tho way more realistic than Kuroko no Basket, for example), why not seeing how the author wants to land his idea of "Ego" the opposite of teamwork in football. Being selfish isn't new in irl football. Why people act like there was some supernatural power in Blue Lock.

That wasn't a training, it was literally a "single-elimination" tag match.

And you played football? Lol, If our coach doesn't tell us to not have physical contact before a tag match, we would gladly tackle and charge each other to win.

Yeah eliminated someone's future.
Kick in the face? Yeah good physical contact.

"Yeah eliminated someone's future." well this just made my point more valid, thanks, I'd kick in the face if my future depends on it.

Kick in the face is not even normal in Blue Lock, in the entire manga, Bachira was the only one who did something like this. Other players barely touch each other. And he's way different from other characters in the manga, it was revealed later in his backstory.

I'm not a fan of sports anime, but this is how you make an entrance with an episode and project, damn! Almost like a death game! This is definitely going to be an interesting anime for 2 seasons, looking forward to it.

Yeah that's exactly what makes it a random survival/battle royal not a good sports show. Also not hiding those things doesn't make it any better anyway.

Good animation and good storytelling. It respected most parts of the manga (except nagi and reo appearance so early on the show). And the opening was amazing. I recommend watching it. I think it will as good and as hyped as the manga.

Well I mean, if a sport anime has a psychological theme, doesn't make it less of a sport anime (One Outs). The problem is that MAL doesn't have a "Battle Royal" tag to add for anime, it's annoying.

One Out's psychological concept and metaphors were way better. These type of things do well for individual performing sports like baseball where batting and pitching are mostly driven individually. For a team sports like Basketball and Football that requires continuous passing; this concept of not passing and making statements like creating other positional players are easy but striker isn't when that's the opposite for real life Japan Football team; losses it's weight. MAL do have "Survival" , "High Stakes Game" and "Strategic Game" tags. It's more befitting of that instead of sports or psychological. Also the way a player got eliminated; barely judged his skill of being a striker.

That was honestly such an incredible episode.
My eyes were glued for every second, and I was on edge the whole time.

The animation, the intense OST and the EYES just blew me the hell away. Honestly, that was so great. I'm so hyped.

Let's see what's to come of embracing your ego and becoming the most egotistical player, in order to achieve your dreams.
Waiting for something to happen?

Well this is sure something, I didn't expect it to be kind of futuristic formation in this center and in a kind of battle royale way but I'm much more interested now, especially with MC's determination to shoot at his friend at the end to eliminate him wow

Yes, my point was: a sport manga can contain multiple themes and still be a sport manga, I can agree that Blue Lock wasn't written as good as One Outs, but it has its own charm imho.

There's a point that Blue Lock is trying to make, it will be revealed later. They don't say you shouldn't pass to each other or other position in football is worthless. Maybe the execution in explaining their point wasn't good enough.
In the end, what I'm saying is, if a football manga focuses on strikers, doesn't make it a non-sport manga. The concept of being selfish in football exists, it's just "radicalized" in Blue Lock, it's called anime for a reason, every sport manga/anime I know had unrealistic things. People can still have fun watching it. I'd rather watch real football if something being unrealistic makes me "hate" it.

My point is everyone has the right to enjoy it. Nobody is taking it away. But that doesn't make it "good"
Even that elimination barely judged the skill of that eliminated person.
Very recently another amazing Football anime came which is Ao Ashi. It also featured something fictional like "super vision to predict diagonal run without much Football experience from big leagues" by MC. But it balanced realism and fiction very well. It didn't contradict the true essence of "Football"
I was just making that point. I think there are also people who had similar thoughts to share. I just shared mine. That's why discussion threads are for. To discuss. It won't necessarily take away other's enjoyment.

That also goes with what Ego is trying to find in these strikers, that eliminated person was hesitant from the beginning.

I can enjoy both Ao Ahi and Blue Lock for different reasons, it just annoys me seeing so many people hate on something just because the concept goes against the norm.
Alright, I'm going to call it. I'm not good at explaining myself in English. My bad for thinking you were blindly hating BL.

I can't believe Japan follow America and called it Soccer.
But they also used Football as well like in "Japan Football Union". idk it's kinda weird they using both. lol

Ego was voice by Hiroshi Kamiya, no wonder he sounds so familiar and insane.

Such a promising start!!
Hopefully they can maintain the quality for the next 6 months.

My only worry is if they'll be able to keep up this level of animation /production throughout the whole thing

This is exactly what I’m afraid of. I hope it the quality stays as good or gets better as the season progresses

Enredo interessante, bagarai, animação muito bem fluida até agora. Pode ser que piore tendo em vista que vai ter 24 episodios, mas de forma geral até me surpreendeu bastante, por isso a nota 9.0.

Such great adaption! I'm glad Blue lock is receiving a great anime adaption. Blue lock is one of my favorite manga and to see getting it animated is even great! The last part of the episode was intense.
Bachira & isagi chemistry is going to be great. And Opening is also great! Excited for the matchs that are going to happen!

Pretty good, I can relate to the feeling of wanting to score more. Scoring in football is the best feeling ever.
