I have been seeing many people say they prefer weekly anime release to binging, but I don’t know why they would prefer that. I prefer binge or watch if all the episodes are released at once because 20 minutes feels too short to watch for a whole week. I might as well be deemed impatient, but don’t you also feel like 20 minutes is just too short?

Also, Which do you prefer, and why?

Personally I don't have a problem with waiting a week for new episodes.
I usually watch weekly and binge some of the ones I missed.

It depends on the series. A lighter series, for instance, weekly is good.

Binge, cliffhangers are the worst.... Though I would end up watching it weekly because of the play button taunting me.

When it comes to seasonals, I watch them weekly because I don't like binge watching, and I have no problem waiting.
If we are talking about how an anime should be released, weekly is certainly the best method. Stone Ocean dropped all of its episodes at once, and the hype died after 2 weeks.

Binge. But if the series is a lighter one or I just watch it for the sake of completing it, it feels way better to watch weekly

Binge is better suited for me.
-Better impact and instant memory. No juggling with multiple stories prologues (if want to watch more). Neither u have to be caged by some schedule.
- binge would probably be a chore for average or disliked anime. But, for anime u actually like its best option. (Weekly can make a show u actually love feel like a chore to watch)
-But Binge require effort and is not good from health point of view. U need both stamina (or else U may get burn out) and patience.(Imo weekly is the one for impatient people, because in binge u have to wait at ur own accord untill all episodes are released)
-Another downside for binge is probably u will not be watching the show at its peak hype (aka wouldn't be able to discuss with people at prime time). But idc about that.

Overall in my view, binge is for passion while weekly is for sprinting or socializing or health

Watching weekly rather than binging, there are some shows that I wouldn't be able to finish if I were to binge watch, but watching them weekly makes them bearable.

For hyped seasonals, I prefer weekly. It helps to join in the discussion. For others, I usually binge.

I can't stand the wait for a new episode personally. So, I prefer to wait until an anime finishes airing and watch it at my own pace.

Binge, there is no way I can remember for a week what happened in the last 20 minutes of content, which might as well have not existed, it's so little on it's own.

I'm really not a binger. I've binged anime in the past, and it drains me. I get really antsy watching shows, I really just can't sit there for a long time for hours on end watching something. So it's nice to dedicate 20 minutes every week to something rather than binging it all

Binge, always. I don't like cramming my head with different shows. Just focus on one until it finishes and move on to the next. I may be late to the newest hot trendy thing but it's just a show, who cares. This otaku gig fucking sucks, anyway. There's nothing cool about being a trendy otaku.

Depends on the show. I might binge Summertime Rendering because it's a mystery and if I watch weekly I might not be as immersed as I would if I binged it. But with things like romances I like watching weekly cause they make me happy. So I think it depends on the show, but for the most part it would be weekly.

I never watch weekly released or ongoing anime and will never do it. Binge, all the time and therefore I only watch completed anime. But the current state of my mind recently prevents me from binge any anime currently.

- NOT your usual shounen anime
- Pure comedy? DEAD WRONG
- Treat Gintama as SoL/weekly sitcom especially earlier seasons
- Ep 1 & 2 are for manga readers
- BIG patience for its 'slow' start

Weekly allows me to keep up with weekly discussions and theories and that's part of the fun but a huge downside is cliffhangers and animes where there's so much going on at once. I binged Re;Zero and given that it introduces so many characters and concepts at once, I'd forget them if I watched it weekly.

Binging at least allows me to keep going if I really wanna know what happens next, but if the anime isn't a popular one, I won't have much opportunity to discuss it with people.

Otherwise if one of my shows comes out, I'll do that throughout the week, or use a day on the weekend to watch whatever I'm following caught up to current.

That's binging in my book, lol. Considering how short anime are nowadays, you could finish a show in about 3 days if you watch 5 episodes a day. Similarly, watching 3 episodes a day would get you done in about 4 days from what would have been a 3-month watch period

I'd honestly binge anime if I could but there are some anime you just have to watch weekly if you want to spend more than 5 minutes on any anime community.
