Wow! This episode was the best one in terms of quality, animation, story, and character development. It showed how Eren had to challenge himself physically and mentally just to take a step towards his freedom.

Also loved the scene where the Global Allied Fleet attacks Eren and the colossal titans ^-^

Hmmm, not sure how to feel about the fact that this still isn't over yet. Having 3 parts of a final season separated by a year each comes out as more of a marketing trap than a rearrangement at this point. However, it makes sense since an original ending would've most probably been much worse.

An improvement animation wise from last season mostly since in this last episode the colossal titan army looked kinda funky. Nothing particularly bad though. Same thing but different matter regarding the soundtrack, no complaints there either besides the fact that I think I liked the previous opening song more. Now, my main gripe it's in the writing, more particularly with the characters.

I made no secret in the last part that I basically didn't like Eren and this season further emphasized that. How do you defend the position of a genocidal maniac I don't know, but apparently some have. I won't argue with them, I'll just state that if at any point the writing was trying to make me feel bad for him, it failed miserably and I hope he gets some sort of punishment in the supposed conclusion (not that I'd know if that will be the case or not).

Regarding the rest, Mikasa is at least now questioning more about whatever she sees in Eren. In my opinion, way too late as their relationship up until now relied more on her side than anything. Aside from that, the emotional drain in the faces of the alliance members with all that has transpired really shows a contrast to this very episode of times long forgotten (that scene in the port with Armin and Conny was rough).

Actually, I think the character I liked the most from this part is Gaby considering how she started questioning her own beliefs in pursue of ending the cycle of hatred in a more effective way than, I dunno, killing everyone. I only kinda liked what Floch represented even if I thought he was an annoying prick. They can still be hated because of reasons such as "potato girl" but at least I can value those aspects.

Finally, the turn the story took towards the expected rumbling is what makes me weary about the writing since the way it could be resolved may not be that satisfactory. I guess we'll see. In the meantime, I can at least rank the seasons up until now from my most to least favorite: 3.2 - 2 - 1 - 3.1 - 4.2 - 4.1

That is all.

Now that was an amazing way to end the season, to hype us up for the big conclusion !
But damn, in 2023 !?
Still, it was nice to see Eren and the gang having some fun with those refugees. Knowing how things could have been diffrent for everyone...kinda hurts

This was supposed to be the final season but guess not. Well, they finally adapted ch.123 which was one of my favorites. It was great to see them have one cherishfull moment with each other. The rumbling scene was animated well imo. Well, it is what it is.

Was so thrown off by that flashback. It almost felt like a dream versus a throwback; I really wasn't ready to see Sasha. If anything I thought they messed up calling Gabi as Sasha, until we got to Mikasa's monologue. I don't know how they managed to make the transition from before to now so smooth, but it definitely was a big confusing initially although not necessarily a bad choice.

The entire episode felt so fricking long, but I feel like maybe this is the only way to wrap up the "final" season first cour?, despite not nearly having enough time. But I digress...

Finally we can see how Eren became the way he is now. So sane he's insane...or so insane he's sane. I'm not too sure. It takes a lot to be able to shove a bullet in your eye for a cause...even if you have regen powers. The ridiculing I expected, but I was not expecting them to get welcomed by the old man in the internment camp. It didn't seem to alter his decision at all

Zeke talking about Ackermann curse made me thing hAckermann? Lmao. They always escape the system

So many Colossal titan types. Also Eren getting a new form..like a porcupine.

Until next time join us for the Ending. Final Season. The Conclusion Arc. Next time on DBZ Shingeki no Kyojin.

Oh shit they said the thing. End credits

deg said:
they finally animated the Eren incel scene "im rejected by my love interest so i will destroy the world now"

if only Mikasa was honest about her feelings towards Eren, love could have saved the world

there it is Colossal Titans can swim but they added the scene where some of them get destroyed eh in the manga they are unaffected by cannon bombardments

as expected Final Season Part 3 is a TV series because if its a movie then it will have to cut a lot of contents

Am I the only one who doesn't get this mindset. It seems like generally everyone in the forums was in agreement that this was the rejection that could have stopped him, but I feel like Eren's never actually shown interest in Mikasa in that way. If anything, I feel like he was testing the waters to see where her loyalty would lie when the world was going to turn. Like I swear it seemed with certainty, that he already knew how this was going to go when he first landed in Marley(.. maybe not the end ending since he can't predict other people's actions completely. Still it seemed like his landing reinforced enough of his partial future seeing skills that it's pretty obvious Marley has no place for them).
Like if she had said lover, or family, or friend, or savior... I genuinely cannot fathom an alternative that would have swayed his opinion or even make him break out of this 'dead-inside' Eren. He literally has nothing left to live for, and is basically just carrying this because of the spite left to break the cycle.

He amputated his own leg and stabbed his eye out in order to be sent to the hospital in Liberio, meet up with Zeke, and sabotage the war declaration

It was great! Maybe it was a bit weird to see the titans swimming xD but the episode was very good. Very funny at the beginning, I was glad to see Sasha again :D I think not only did it give an excellent ending to the best season of this anime, but it made a perfect setting for the ending that was announced for next year.

After suffering through 5 episodes of cringevengers we finally get to see Eren again.
It's interesting to see that Eren had more trust in Floch and Historia than he did in Mikasa and Armin.
This season started strong and went downhill after the creation of Alliance.
As we saw Eldians are treated like devils and universally hated by the rest of the world and blamed for the sins of their ancestors, which makes Alliance logic even worse.
It's obvious if Eren didn't do what he did the rest of the world would genocide Eldia.
Alliance not only has no plan to stop that but is actively helping Marley achieve their goal which makes no sense.
It's gross how anime tries really hard to portray them as some kind of heroes while they are betraying and killing their friends without any remorse and dooming their people in the process.
Hopefully we will get an anime original ending.

Ready for my rant?

Here I am, an anime-only, watching this show with only 1 thing in my mind. "This is the last episode of that Final-Final part of Final AoT Final Season"

What did I expect: Some epic last boss battle like a shounen anime (like Levi vs Beast from S3)
What did I saw: More talks. Some new flashbacks scene + RECYCLE scenes from the previous episodes + barely new content on post-"The Rumbling".
THANK YOU MAPPA??!

Apparently the colossal titans that were supposed to be super super slow can swim that quick? The fights that I waited for so long was so freaking lame. I hate Floch but his fight scene was better than this bs.

The ending with Eren being called "The attacking titan". This provide not new to the table since this is pretty obvious to the audience. Nothing worth praising here. Generic way to use title to end the season like many other anime I know.

S4P2 was no doubt got boring after the Rumbling.

Marely and the rest of the world already wanted to genocide Eldians even before rumbling, rumbling only reassure them that their decision was correct.
And after Eren is stopped there is noting standing in a way between them and their plan of wiping Eldia from the map so I have no idea how would this benefit the paradise.
Alliance has no plan of preventing Eldian genocide so they choosing to side with the people that hate them and want them dead over their own friends and families makes no sense whatsoever.

Season 4 part 3?? Look's like season 7 to me :/
[A small rant of me losing my patience]

The final part of the final season of the anime which is ironically released/split into parts as seasonal each year ie. 2021-part 1, 2022-part 2, 2023-part 3 (final for real this time? IDK...)

MAPPA just stalling and thinking of another ending, unlike the manga? Whether it's good or bad depends on your patience.

I have read the manga (and know the ending / won't spoil) and enjoyed the things they made in this season (even though it is slow-paced). I was unsure at first how they will end this season within 12 episodes after watching how slow it went.

I truly believed that this is the end, the OP and ED were already relating towards the end. They foreshadowed the ending in the pre-final episode of this season only to show us another slow-paced episode with an action-packed 'to be continued' screen, god I hate that screen, gets me every time! I guess this may be part of the reason why they delayed the last episode of the season, a late April Fool's joke.

Just let the story end, accept the fact, and let everyone move on, 3 years for 'THE FINAL SEASON', come on!

Anyways, I'm not hoping for the best ending, I'm just hoping for an ending.
Everything that lives is designed to end.

Most people that once believed Historia's child was also Eren's have accepted that it's really Farmer-kun's. Doesn't make it any less nonsensical and forced by Isayama. It goes against Historia's Uprising character arc where she finally becomes independent, strong-willed, and the Queen of Paradis. Her next move is then to get pregnant from the guy that bullied her as a kid and that she never thought of since and that we as readers/viewers have no clue of his existence; which effectively sidelines her for the rest of the story.

Nah, I disagree.

Regardless what would be a better choice writing-wise, Historia chooising Farmer-kun as her partner makes more sense then her choosing a guy who will be dead in few years and who admitted that he's gonna commit mass genoside.

Obviously she wanted for her child to have a life as normal and happy as possible, because her own childhood was far from happy and you would think she wouldn't want to repeat the cicle. And in the scenes we saw Farmer-kun he was a good boyfriend who cared about Historia. Calling him a bully, because of one scene where he threw rock at her as a child is also a bit weird, because we don't know how their relationship developed since childhood and what was his reason.

Historia and Eren ship actually reminds me of that awful romance betweeen Anakin and Padme in Attack of the Clones where Padme got hots for Anakin after he admitted he murdered women and children. This was arguebly the most cringe part of the trylogy and I'm still confused what was Lucas thinking when he was writing it.

The best part besides the ending scene gotta be the party with our main cast and the immigrants at the camps.
Feel kinda pissed off by the fact that we need to wait another year to see 3rd part. Still I feel like its better to wait a year than rushing the series to end with shit CG.

But I didn’t really understand the Eren-Historia conversation, especially when he told her “you Saved me”

It's a throwback to s3p1 where Historia saved Eren, literally and metophorically, back then Eren lost his will to live because of burden of ancestral sins(father's in this case), so he was asking her to eat him and save humanity. She refused and told him she's the worst girl in the world, and that humanity should get destroyed instead by the titans.

This basically foreshadows the rumbling.

You along with a lot of people in this thread bitchin' about the last episode are a bunch of dodgy sod wankers. Pay close attention to the structure of this episode and you'll see how it literally SHOWS you what's going to happen. The flashback added more depth to Eren's character. This episode shows that Isayama and Eren understands the contradicting nature of his search for freedom and control while knowing his future and following a determined path. This epiaode singlehandedly fixed any problems that the paths fuckery could've created by stripping eren's agency down, aswell as fixing plot holes as to why he didnt try to change the future he saw.

The future is set in stone, the timeline is deterministic, not because of a greater will or force, but because Eren wished for it to be so. The future he knew doesnt enslave him, it just made him even more aware of who he is and what he wants. If his friends being put in danger are a price needed to be paid for that future he saw, then so be it. If the reiss children have to be killed, so be it.

This episode continues with its genius exploration of these themes by having Eren talk to Historia, who gives him the alternatives: In their exchange, she embodies everything that Eren hates ( i.e, just giving up to your fate, as decided by others, and following their plans.) Historia herself is doing this agaisnt her own feelings, because of her duty as the queen. The scene then cuts from their exchange, to Eren showing his resolve to Floch. Historia proposes giving up, instead of running away or fighting. Eren doesn't accept that, and we see him telling Floch his real plan. TO FIGHT.

We then cut to Historia disagreeing with this, and giving Eren the reasons why its wrong - to which he's not ignorant of, but is prepared to face the consequences anyway. The real theme emerges here. Deep down, it's not about grand ideologies or breaking cycles, it's not about protecting nations. It's about doing what's right for your values, for yourself, so you can live a life of pride.

And Eren reminds her in this case, of who she is, of who she was to him ,what she represented: The ''worst girl in the world''. The one that ignored the safest choice, pacifism under the Reiss. ''Peace'' under the expense of freedom and chaos. She ignored that and went with the unknow - saving eren, without having certainty that he could ever hope to use the founding titan in the future, or that it would save humanity.

Because she didn't do it for humanity. She doesn't care about them, about people whom she never met. She cares about those closest to her, people like her and Eren who thinks they shouldn't have been born. And just like Historia saved Eren when HE felt trapped, with nowhere to run or nothing to do, just giving up... He does the same for Historia now, in the same situation. That is why she goes along with Eren's plan, and doesn't tell ANYONE.

Further showing Eren's determination, we hear what he wants: for them to live long, happy lives. Now, regardless if he's putting historia's child in that or not, the last panel here is very clear in meaning. It shows Eren's reactions to sasha's death, something he didn't see in the future, right after he says ''i want for them to live long, happy lives.''

With this, Isayama is saying that Eren won't get what he wants. His path only lies across his friends' graves. This episode ends just like it began. Eren chose to embrace his innermost darkest desires and to end humanity outside, for the sake of his freedom. ENSLAVING ONESELF IS THE PRICE TO PAY FOR FREEDOM.
