Is it just me or is it rare to see anime girls in hoodies? Like Miko was wearing one, and then I just thought, "when was the last time I've seen a girl wearing a hoodie in anime?" Dumb question, but I literally can't remember the last time I've seen that.

This is the last episode of the season, it's open-ended, and that was to be expected. It is an episodic-style series after all- or is it? At first glance it appears to be nothing other than Miko encountering a different apparition each episode. But clearly there's more than meets the eye, and I think there really is a story that they want to tell about the origins of these monsters.

It's a hybrid of horror, ecchi, and comedy, and still has room to occasionally hit you in the feels. There's nothing major to criticize it about, unless you really hate ecchi, which is only prominent for the first few episodes really. Other than that, I was ready to slap a 7/10 on this, but the last episode just left a little to be desired.

Going to leave it a 6/10 for now, I certainly had a blast with this one, and am anticipating the announcement of a season 2 which hopefully will tie up some loose ends.

What a good final episode, it really had it all, it concluded the arc with the ghost of Zen’s mom being vanquished and the cat sprits ascending, we also got some very spooky moments at the shrine and at the very end of the episode, I was wondering why they kept the sponsors parts in the funimation episode lol. And man those alien gods are actually scarier than the ghosts if you ask me. And to end it, we got some nice moments between Miko, Hana and Yulia, complete with some of the nice fanservice we’ve come to know with this show.

And that was the end of what I thought was the best anime this season, this gets a very easy 10/10 from me, I loved this one so much, it was the perfect balance of horror, comedy and wholesomeness and it was a true joy to watch weekly until this final episode. A truly unique experience imo, I’m gonna miss Miko, Hana, and Yulia dealing with spooky ghouls, this is truly a Fall Season Sunday to never forget. Really hope this gets a Season 2!

Anyway,
Good episode to close the (I hope) first season. Sensei Zen's full recovery adopting Mocha was a nice way to end that arc.

This obviously opens the door to a whole new resource, Miko wanting to fight the ghosts, so if there were to be a second season, it looks like it wouldn't just be more of the same. I'll probably read the manga, eventually.

And holy cow, thank God I don't skip sponsors 'cause I wasn't expecting that at all. What a clever way to end it, although I did answer 'Nope.' To the 'Can you see me?' So, I guess I didn't learn anything in 12 episodes.

Say anything you want, this is a 10/10 for me. And I'm looking forward to seeing more, though it'll be hard to beat the OP and ED theme songs. Total bangers.

this was alright i went from thinking this was pretty meh to okay once the "story" started to get going sadly that was only in the last few episodes

Mieruko is yet another show that fails to please everyone by dipping it's hands in trying to be too many things and at times it works i can see why it's frustrating to watch it's the same reason i didn't like maid dragon that much this year

6/10 it's a interesting premise even if it started to get a bit boring they really liked to add some 180 twist which i wasn't expecting for this type of show to mix things up i most likely will finish getting caught up on the manga

Pretty banger last episode. Wholesome ending to the Zen arc, or so I thought, Miko just awoken the murderer in Zen. Cause, I presume he killed the cat killer. If he didn't, he probably would have just handed him over to the police, but he went missing.

Plus, the shrine ghosts are probably saving Miko not out of the kindness from their hearts. But that scene though in the shrine though, the visuals were awesome and the soundtrack was slapping hard.

Based Passione, adding some lowkey fanservice at the end. I really hope we get a season 2, but either way, onwards to the manga I go. 8/10

Pretty much the climax point happened already last episode, so this episode is pretty much an ending and see how our characters fare out now with their lives. And for the first time in a long time, we have the sponsor message bit again in an episode. I wish they retained an older version, but eh I'll take it Kadokawa.

So Zen is finally set free from his mother's shackles and Miko has used her last protection from the shrine spirits, so guess it's time for tribute. But that scene where she's constantly stressed by the spirits puzzles me, and it made me think that they are not the actual protectors here, something's fishy is in plain sight. But without a S2 announcement, our fears and question will remain unresolved. I guess Zen did not trust his neighbor at all, like ew hair inside the food, are you trying to kill that man? Oh speaking of killing, I guess Zen did it to the cat killer...fantastic.

And with the final set of cultural shots, Mieruko-chan has ended, I think it's a good show....and spilling the beans right now um AYO Passione really did us there with that glitch ending!!!. Remind me of that one anime who did it as well...you know...AoT 3. But aside from that, yeah this anime was good. Like to have the 2nd season in 3 years.

Liked the ending, but damn it for having such a cliffhanger and leaving things unresolved! Because I'm guessing it's going to be a while until a chance of a S2 since there's not enough material at the moment.

Happy that Zen actually ended up just being a scarred person who shut himself out and needed saving. While not what she meant, it was good that he thought he needed to be more open...although he was harshly blunt......and was that woman really putting hair in the stew?! O_O
Although curious as to what he's up to now. Had a cheer when he found the cat killer and tasered him...put then the police were putting up a missing person poster...Zen...what did you do? :S

While originally thought of as good spirits...very concern about those shine spirits now. The 'maidens' seemed to be arguing a bit after finishing off the mother ghost, and while it turned out to be just a dream...they did look rather pissed off in the street at the end. Do they believe Miko owes them something and the initial offering/prayer wasn't actually the full payment for their protection?

This may end up being a series where I actually buy the manga out of lack of patience to wait for another season xD

Always knew Zen is not bad (though I havent read the manga yet), good to see he's finally free.
The finale is just okay. I enjoyed more that Yulia keeps on competing with Miko and end up tripping off.
Now that I think about it, Mieruko chan name's was after that phrase the spirits keep on asking - mie ru? :'3
Good series, hoping to see more of it given the chance for s2.

I love the 'Zen Toono' arc. I've finish reading this arc long time ago and I don't 100% remember all of the scenes... But seeing Zen and the cat killer scene do look suspicious...

Wait... Miko's dreaming? I don't remember her dreaming that in the manga since....

This ending is not so great and the manga is still ongoing, MAL put Romm in the Mieruko-chan anime character lists, but he didn't appear yet in this season...

The sponsor thing at the end scared the shit out of me haha, that's was pretty cool. It leaves you thinking, "so that's why they left the sponsor segment at the beginning" xD. I also liked what they did with the kid in the raincoat. At first we see him walking normally next to a girl, only to later reveal that he's a ghost and ask "can you see me?"

The shrine scene was so darn tense! It turned out to be a dream in the end (or maybe not?) but I wonder what's up with those spirits? They even showed up at the end watching Miko.

So someone sent that picture of Hana and Miko at the shrine to the godmother huh....

Zen sensei wtf?

Poor Yulia, I felt bad for her when she fell :'(

I love how in the last few minutes there is a lot of fanservice haha. To be honest it felt weird how we went from having a decent amount of fanservice in the first few episodes to having the bare minimum here and there. It felt like something was missing.

Oh well, I guess this is it for now for Mieruko chan. I loved this show, it was one of my favorite shows of the season, with one of my favorite OPs of the season and with Miko being one of my best girls of the season. I loved Sora Amamiya's work on this show. Hopefully it will get a second season but for now, I'm going to miss it!

at the end of ep 7 , yuria set the picture of 3 girls as her back-ground .

but now , at 10:22 of ep 12 , yuria 's phone 's wallpaper back-ground is godmother 's picture instead .

I reckon if the Designs of the sprits weren't this good and terrifying. I doubt we would have taken this show seriously when it tried to do horror and the whole story would just collapse on itself. That one element helped make this show alot better than it might have been. 8/10 for me.

Alright, what an end. Definitely contain more additional story, plot, and mystery, than i think before. Zen's really got a high amount of character development on this last episode. He's now trying to be more open, honest, and successfully mention Hana's name. Even though some question still hang around near the end of him, at least for now his case shall actually been finish, since he able to pet that cat, and found the real animal abuser. Though, that lady part really out of my expectation. Same with Godmother, which definitely become the foreshadow for the upcoming new character, whoever you are....

The mystery with that fox spirits still unresolve, obviously. Ofc they just cliffhang it like that. Not to mention after the credit, they put last surprise to make me even confused. Hah, really an unexpected show. But i still love this until its end. For the fanservice purposes....

I liked the way the chapter ended, with that static and some ghosts, the prelude with his Cliffhanger for them to read the manga. It seems that Miko will have to deal with some quite angry spirits because of her pay (and I don't think they are the type to break your legs if you don't have money) and just when she already tolerates ghosts better. Jingle bells

The adaptation was quite faithful to the manga, the fan service intensified (already present in the manga) but that's the way the industry is, a shame that it will scare so many people. The animation stayed well, It was anticipated that the ghosts would not look as good as in the manga but it could give good moments, It seems to me that the OST complies but does not stand out in anything. Let's hope a second season is confirmed, because at this point in the story there are many issues to be resolved.

Good conclusion with Zen and his Mother.
Those cat spirit can finally be free.

Kinda weird how Zen find the cat abuser and then we see missing poster person.

Ending the season with somehow cliffhanger.

Hey Zen you don't refuse someone like that, but still nice to see him realizing he needs to be "free". Have to say that was one scary dream Miko had, but she still coping up with everything. Commendable courage as always.

So with this the fun's finally over, really impressed with the adaptation though. Hoping for a sequel in future as from here on the things will get intense, even more than we had throughout the course of this season. Also will miss the Opening for sure.

This last arc was all about not judging a book by it's cover, or in other words causation does not imply correlation.

Complete and utter waste of a final episode. Last week's cliffhanger was resolved within the first five minutes, and more or less the entire rest of the episode was filler besides the tease about the shrine gods being very displeased with Miko. Just a shame that the show won't ever actually adapt that after wasting nearly 20 minutes here and large sections of the early show on excessive fanservice.

Rant aside, this was a pretty disappointing adaptation overall other than the spirits looking fantastic (and even that's with the caveat that Passione seemed to put almost no budget into anything else after that). With a few small exceptions, the anime never quite got the tone of the manga right and ended up feeling way more "comedic" than scary and tense like the manga was (not as though it was actually funny all that often, but still). And ending here, before things truly get interesting on all fronts is a serious disappointment as well, if not too surprising.

6/10, though if the spirits didn't look as good as they did it would be a 5 instead.

The dream sequence wasn’t in the manga, so I’m guessing it was either a “go read the manga” or a tease for a second season. Although the scene was terrifying, I can’t say I’m happy with it, as they literally spoiled to anime onlies the shrine god’s true form making it less impactful in an hypothetical second season.

Anyways, 8.5/10. Great job Passione. Could have been better, but it was a stellar adaptation.

That's really creepy but somehow I'm not scared looking at the images. The anime staffs did great job to make the anime scary(at least for me).

---------------------

The sponsor at the end nearly gave me heart attack lol. Overall it's pretty good horror anime, too bad we don't know why the foxes are mad.

Feels like Natsume Yuujinchou but the MC doesn't have anything to counter the spirits.

Yami Shibai staffs should learn from this anime on how to make scary setup.

For season 1, they adapted the plot of 23 chapters, along with some filler from chapters 24 and 25. There are currently 38 chapters of the manga, meaning they have 15 chapters to work with. Assuming a 9 month, at least, production schedule for season 2, there would be more than enough material to work with by the time production is over. This is, of course, assuming the animation studio would have access to the author's outline and work before hand, similar to Jahy-sama. If this show is popular enough, we could easily see season 2 by the next fall season.

However, since they took what would be the start of season 2 (the shrine offering scene) and turned it into a dream sequence, I am curious what their plans would be for a second season. I suppose the simplest course of action would be to readapt the shrine visit again properly and leave out the bit where the maidens rot the offering.

Either way, I hope we get a season 2 where we get to see Romm and the Godmother a whole bunch, as well as see how the mediums deal with the Shrine God and Maidens.

Seemed earlier in the ep the shrine spirits were disagreeing with eachother about something to do with Miko.

Everyone's talking about Zen tazing the cat killer but I don't recall actually seeing that just a scene you see the sparks and noise but no tazer. What if it mislead us and Zen was who was tazed by the cat killer and is in danger? Though it wouldn't make sense for him to be looking for someone like that and be unarmed. Hard to tell what's going on there. If Zen did taze him what did he do with him? Is he just turning him in to the police or torturing him or did he kill him? If Zen was tazed is he still alive himself?

I wonder what the shrine spirits are following Miko for. She did say she should actually make an offering but it didn't show her do that for real just the dream.

I dont want this to be over. Season two ASAP..I will probably check out the manga as well but not sure how far I will look to.

Lol. Sensei really made the actual cat killer "disappear" and now he's turned into a rude dude. Congrats, I guess.

Overall, it was an alright series but I was certainly expecting something more. The formula with Miko ignoring spirits and stuff felt way more repetitive from what I was anticipating and the awfully misplaced in-your-face fanservice really ruined most of the earlier episodes. If only the director wasn't such a horny dude...

4,5/10 -> 4/10 - Production values were certainly impressive tho. Not to mention I really liked how Passione animated the ghosts and spirits.
