Some anime have two titles: English and Japanese. But which title do you gravitate towards? English or Japanese? Also do you arbitrarily use both when you discuss the show with other people?

Really depends. I for example prefer Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni to "When they Cry" because it is by what I first was exposed to the anime. But if its easier to say for example Shingeki no Kyojin to AOT, or Boku no Hero Academia to MHA I'll just use that.

It really depends on which I'm used to hearing. But I feel like japanese titles are more common
Like I call FMA Fullmetal Alchemist, while I cal AoT Shingeki no Kyojin.

Depends on which is easier to say and type and to remember. Very preferable if you can abbreviate it like MHA, AoT, OP, BC, LotGH, DxD, FMAB, HxH, MDZS, JJK, KnY, HnI, TTGL, GITS, (all the Fate titles), etc.

I mainly use the English titles. They are easy for me to remember. 7/10 of my favourite titles do not have a Japanese name.

"kimetsu" you know what it is, but if I were to write "demon" it'd be followed by "demon what?"

Honestly depends how lazy I'm feeling and/or I know the Japanese title well
Ex: I'll use Jibaku Shounen Hanako Kun 87% of the time, then for other series I'll just use their English name lmao

I prefer Japanese, with some exceptions like Hagane no Renkinjutsushi, Howl no Ugoku Shiro, JoJo no Kimyou na Bouken, etc.

In those cases, I rather use Fullmetal Alchemist, Howl's Moving Castle, JoJo's Bizarre Adventure

Romaji Japanese if they have one as most official English titles that the Japanese come up with are dumb. E.g Higurashi when they cry ..... like what, couldn't they just use when the cicadas cry?

Mostly Japanese, but it depends. If it's one of those long light novel titles, I usually tend to stick to the miniaturized name, and if it doesn't have one, I just use the English one.

It also matters who I'm talking to. If it's someone who's well engaged with Weeb culture, and I know they'll be fine with the JP name I use that. But for the ones who rarely ever watch anime, or are new to Animes I stick with the English one.

I'm starting to learn Japanese, so I love looking at the Japanese titles and translating them.

But most of the time I use the titles, it's when I'm talking with my family and friends, and I use the English version 99% of the time. And because I do that, I use the English most of the time on here and other forum sites as well since they're the ones I'm most familiar with and used to.

So I'd say English because I use those the most. I usually only use the Japanese versions when I'm studying Japanese.

Translation causes meanings of words to shift to a certain extent, so Japanese/Korean... (except when the author has made the title English to start with, such as Bleach, Berserk, Bastard, One Piece etc.)

Pls don't write animeS or mangaS >.< // + <50 man(g/hw/hu)a not in MAL. // Join my >manga club< here!

In some series, the English titles can be totally out of meaning to the original titles. One example is Detective Conan or Meitantei Conan with a silly English alternative title as Case Closed.

There are also some titles that are so long to read and you just have to cut it short - like this one: Kochira Katsushika-ku Kameari Kōen Mae Hashutsujo (or in English translation: This is the Police Station in Front of Kameari Park in Katsushika Ward) - the short form of it will be Kochikame.

In many series, I like some authors who name them in English that is quite nice, like Fairy Tail, Bleach, Lucky Star, One Punch Man, One Piece, etc).

I suppose it depends on the title and which is more distinctive and easy to remember. That will be the one I use.

It depends on which one is mostly used out of both titles, for example remembering Kakegurui is lot more easier than Compulsive gambler and Erased for Boku dake ga Inai Machi.

Depends on which I keep hearing the most - whether in the anime community or in the anime itself. What sticks with me there on stays that way. And sometimes what's easier to go with, like Oregairu and not "My youth romantic comedy......"

English, no exceptions. If I was speaking Japanese I'd use the Japanese title, but in English conversation, I'm gonna be speaking English. That's what official English titles are for, lol

Same reason I call Ash from Pokémon "Ash" instead of "Satoshi" or call the JoJo Stands by their English names

i prefer to say Attack on Titan for Shingeki no Kyojin or To Your Eternity instead Fumetsu no Anata e.

but i also prefer to say Yuru Camp instead of the english title Laid-Back Camp.

i would say 70:30
with a tendency to say the english titles.

I mostly use Japanese titles.
Whenever someone asks me what I'm watching, I say the Japanese name first and then they're like “👁🕳👁 what's the English" Their reaction is a sight to see XD

But for the well-known ones like AoT I just go with the title people mostly use.

Depends on the language and who I'm speaking with. I find it fun to pick apart Japanese titles.

Plus I like how the Japanese titles are shortened when the title is long.
Notice: I read most manga in Japanese now so I'm not sure where you can read in English. Sorry in advance.

because MAL changed almost all titles to romanized Japanese, so the Japanese titles stuck with me. exceptions are titles that are originally written in English, such as Death Note and Dragon Ball

Japanese titles, mostly. If it's in a case with something that no one uses the Japanese title for in english (aka, Fullmetal Alchemist), then i go with the english title of course because I'm not going to say Hagane no Renkinjutsushi everytime I want to mention FMAB

whichever is shorter and more convenient. it only so happens that this is the case for Japanese titles most of the time, so i choose Japanese.
You can buy lossless digital music from your favorite Japanese artists on https://ototoy.jp/.
The songs are all DRM-free and you can re-download your purchased albums as you wish.
Show your support to your favorite artist if you can!
ps. if you are looking for Japanese albums, you have to search it in Japanese (not romaji). Just copy and paste the name.

Me too honestly. Only call one series by its Japanese name. It’s just easier to remember the name in English
