Whether officially added to your Dropped list or not, which anime series have you dropped from the summer 2021 season after one or two episodes and why?
| Again, this applies whether you ever even bothered adding the series to your PTW list and/or Currently Watching list or not. I know that with some series I'm unsure about (whether newer and currently airing series or even older series), I elect not to even officially add the series to a list until I've seen at least an episode of it and decide from there whether I'm going to want to continue it. If I don't have any intention of continuing the series based on everything I take away from the first episode, I often don't even add it to "Dropped" or any list at all. It's more as if I never watched it in the first place as far as the MAL records go. Of course, it's likewise fine if you did add it and place it on the official "Dropped" wall of shame. I'm more interested in hearing about series people were so uninterested in or aggressively turned off by within just the first episode (or up to like two episodes) that they dropped it on sight, rather than a series you're 8 or 10 episodes into before dropping. For me, it has only been two from this current summer of 2021 season: - To Your Eternity (1 episode) - Uramichi Oniisan (1 episode) |

I'm a little shocked a ninth season exists. To be clear, I liked various aspects of the first season and considered it decent, but not something it seemed like they would be effective at making many seasons of. |

| - Bokutachi no Remake (1 ep). Boring, generic, lame and it takes itself too seriously. - Tantei wa Mou, Shindeiru. (2 ep). A mess, in terms of both writing and execution. The first half of ep 1 tricked me into thinking it was a decent show at least, but then things went downhill and I probably haven't watched the worst of it. - Jahy-sama wa Kujikenai (2 ep). Not funny enough for a comedy, too annoying loli for a slice of life. |

| Aquatope: Wasn't my type of show (1 ep) Megami Ryou: Had too many anime I was watching at the same time so I wanted to drop one and I chose this (2 eps) Both of these I didn't add to my dropped list cuz I never gave them a fair chance but what I did drop was Detective is already dead after 6 eps. Unlike the majority I was interested in what followed the plot of ep 2-4 but the show gives you a flashback arc which I got pretty annoyed by and dropped. Also interested in why you dropped Uramichi Onee San and To your eternity. Both of those shows have been the highlights of the season for me along with Remake and Kobayashi |
| Scarlet Nexus - trash Otome Game no Hametsu Flag shika Nai Akuyaku Reijou ni Tensei Shiteshimatta... X - the first season was kind of fun, but the second bored me Tantei wa Mou, Shindeiru. - I am sucker for "maitantei" stuff but this is trash D_Cide Traumerei the Animation - I thought it will have some fun action but it went all melodrama and started solving complex psychological and social problems like they are nothing Night Head 2041 - trash Jahy-sama wa Kujikenai! - kind of cheaply made and repetitive |

| Heion Sedai... Kanojo mo kanojo Tantei wa... Uramichi... Genjitsu shugi.... I might pick up one or two of these again. Actually, the only anime I have watched this season is Vanitas. And I definitely plan on watching Slime. That's it. |

| Aquatope at the first episode Sonny Boy at episode 4 And that detective anime within a few minutes of watching. I dropped all of these titles because they felt tiring to watch. I haven't added them to my dropped list because that too feels like a tedious task. |

It's so boring One of the most commonly recurring answers in this thread, to no one's surprise (at least not to mine). I've caught up with it, having seen all 10 episodes which have aired so far and will be finishing the season soon (next week) and plan to give it a decent rating, but this out of everything was the one which stood out to me basically from the first episode of series that would be almost universally considered most boring and tedious drivel of the season by the MAL userbase. I barely hear any positive reception of it anywhere. |
| i dropped both tanmoshi and peach boy after episode 3. i found ep 4 kind of hard to watch so i put it on hold at first, but after seeing the scores going lower, i decided to just drop it. i'm tempted to drop hamefura x, but i have only watched until episode 2 so maybe i'll give it a chance and continue watching i tried watching the slow life drugstore as well, but i couldnt even finish watching ep 1 lmao |

| Peach Boy Riverside, but to be fair the only reason I only gave it a small try was because Coolkyou wrote it (also because the main character looks like Ange from Cross Ange). I never expected to care for it to begin with. Other than that I'm only watching Uramichi and Dragon Maid S2 and I'm still following both of those. |

I can tell very early on it's not my type of show, but in fairness and full disclosure, I didn't expect it to be going into it. Which is why I never added it to my list and used as part of an example of series you just give a one or so episode shot to while not formally logging them or expecting much. I usually expect my odds are no better than 50/50 or less to continue with such series. The reason beyond that in Uramichi Oniisan's specific case is just that I don't watch or care for much comedy in anime or outside of anime. There is a reason why I list Comedy as one of my least favorite genres in my profile. As to why is more complicated, but I just have a different and idiosyncratic sense of humor drawn from more random and daily life occurrences so I don't care much for many scripted comedies on the merits of their humor alone. That is to say, I'm not at all against a series with heartwarming or witty levity, banter, general comedic relief, etc., but it's not the main draw or attraction for me to a series. I prefer Comedy if present to be blended with one or more other genres. So that leaves the strength of the premise alone, which is why I began watching it, but I didn't get much value from that in the first episode (it might change in later episodes with more character development and worldbuilding within a SoL context, I'm sure). To Your Eternity, I thought had an intriguing premise again (which is why I begin watching any series), genres more my speed with drama and adventure and such, the first episode was entertaining enough and very well made, etc. I just had an underlying hunch that this was the type of series, as a modern Shounen adventure, which was just going to develop in a direction I wasn't as interested in later in the season. Like it would become episodic or formulaic without the major heart and hook of character dynamics I hold dear from my favorite adventure series. Then reading the criticisms online of others later in the season toward aspects of the direction of the show structure and plot-wise seemed to confirm my worst suspicions. |
| Aquatope: Boring characters, Uninteresting story. Slow life medical store something: Basic isekai slice of life without a hint of originality. Otome game s2: The main hook of the show was getting too old in season 1 itself. Mahouka kouko: Dull story. Kageki shoujo: Not appealing to my taste. |

You know how the relationship between the human-like appearance of a robotic object and the emotional response it evokes. Sometimes makes you feel uneasy and you fail to appreciate the genius behind it, because you can't get over that sense of "this is not right". |

| Genjitsu Yuusha. At first seems interesting and then it gets very boring, the character itself didn't really make any sense (3 eps) Kanojo mo Kanojo, Dies from cringe (first 10 minutes of eps 1) Tantei wa moe Shindeiru, After first half of eps 1 it's get very weird and after eps 3 I drop it. It's just not interesting, boring, and I don't really like the character and the "Detective shitty things" Jahy sama, got quite bad anime adaptation (Eps 2) but imma give it a try later for the memes |
| The Detective is Already Dead: It had tell tale signs of problems in 1st episode. 2nd episode was disappointing. 3rd episode was quite the offensive mess, so I figured it's time to call quits. Jahy -sama wa Kujikenai: Well basically similar reason to most of others dropping this. Unappealing characters. Overused running gags. Unfunny comedy. Bad animation (Doga Koba where u at?). Worst ED of all time probably (well that's the least of the reasons). [ON-HOLD]-Duke of Death: Liable to be dropped unless I want to revisit the series (highly unlikely). Caught up with the manga. Expected some good visuals (light and shadow effects, color versatility, etc) and facial expression dynamics, but the CGI (it's good but applied to the wrong show) dashed my hopes. If the story was really something brilliant and not just decent, I'd have watched it anyways. |

| None, I rarely start seasonals expecting not to like them. Tho Jahy is defo not as fun as I expected, won't drop it, but not super into it. |
