Publishing company Futabasha announced an anime project for Motoo Nakanishi's Kijin Gentoushou fantasy novel on Thursday. The announcement was previewed at the end of the promotional video for the first volume of Yuu Satomi's manga adaptation, which shipped the same day.

Synopsis
In the Edo period, there was a shrine maiden called "Itsukihime" in the mountain village of Kadono. Jinta, a young man who acts as the shrine maiden's guardian despite being a stranger, encounters a mysterious demon who speaks of the far future in the forest where he went to defeat it. From Edo to the Heisei era, this huge Japanese fantasy series follows a demon man who travels through time while continuously questioning the meaning of wielding a sword. (Source: Crunchyroll, edited)

Nakanishi originally penned the series on the novel publishing website Arcadia between January 2013 and May 2016, followed by a continuation that ran on the Shousetsuka ni Narou website in September–October that year. Futabasha began publishing the novel with illustrations by Tamaki in June 2019. The seventh volume shipped on June 18, with the eighth volume scheduled for an October 21 release. Kijin Gentoushou has a cumulative 230,000 copies of its volumes in print.

So its based on an actual novel, and not a light novel. Might be good.

I'm hyped as fuck for this one, I'm a HUGE yu satomi fan so I'm definitely gonna watch this.

honestly would have preferred a mushi hime or Noah of the blood sea anime but it's yu satomi so I'm still gonna watch.

This looks like something that can turn into an epic. For the love of god, please be a studio that can properly capture the essence and atmosphere of that era.

Seems interesting, i may keep an eye out for this
"In the past few months since we met, I've shared many memories with Nagato. Though I've also shared memories with Haruhi, Asahina-san and Koizumi, I found that I've experienced more events with Nagato in particular. In fact, every situation seems to involve her. I might as well mention this, she's probably the only person to cause the bell within me to shake the most vigorously..." ~ Kyon, TMOSH

Doesn't really look like much to be honest. I'll make a note of it, see if it looks more promising by the next PV, but right now... no.
Well I for one already loved Lain.

This show can be good. I don't care about samurai but in game they can be pretty awesome.
