The Japanese Disney, Studio Ghibli, is still the only Japanese production studio to produce an Oscar-winning animated film to this day. Even though the entire Academy Awards is a joke, but getting the attention of one of the judges is what's impressive about Studio Ghibli. Yet over the past decade, the studio seems to be in a decline with the "retirement" of studio director Hayao Miyazaki. But still, the studio had done more than enough in its prime to solidify its status as one of the best Japanese Animation Studio with its many timeless classics beloved by many people, especially in Asia. Now that begs the question: Which of its films is the best?

DISCLAIMER: I'm a person of GREAT TASTE. If your pick isn't on here then it just means it's trash.

I respect you for using only the Japanese titles for the films.

Majo no Takkyuubin will always be my favourite one in my heart

idk about calling it Ghibli film when it's before the studio is created even though it's directed by Hayao Miyazaki. It's like calling every Metal Gear Solid game a Kojima Productions game when it's under Konami

I know what you mean, but at the same time a lot of people count Nausicaa as the birth of Ghibli. So is it, is it not? For me it is. But i voted for Howl no Ugoku Shiro as i would say it's my second place.
I think i liked most of them so you can't really fail.

I've actually seen all the ghibli films, even the shitty ones and I'd still say my favourite one is Howl's Moving Castle but I also love My Neighbour Totoro, The Tale of Princess Kaguya and Whisper of the Heart.

Most of Ghibli's films are god-tier. But among them all, Kaze Tachinu has the most relatable story.
A tearful, yet realistic story of a man's life and his dream, career and love.

So sad too many Gen Z weebs nowadays can't appreciate these works of art, they praise those mediocre ecchi/isekai/harem/noisy MC shows instead.

Our Japanese teacher told us how he liked the movie as well but hated the book to the point of dropping it. It was one of the worst written and difficult books he read

Grave of the Fireflies made me feel some real shit. It's ironic that my favorite movie by Ghibli wasn't even made by Miayazki. Otherwise, My Neighbor Totoro and Howl's Moving Castle are the most fun. Spirited Away is also really good.
