A pretty disappointing finale overall for me to end a very flawed but very entertaining show despite the meh ending with the predictable sacrifice-revival twists showcased, which feels pretty damn overplayed for years. I'd probably rate it a 6/10. It's definitely messy and not cohesive, which is expected from a Tappei Nagatsuki series, but damn I can't deny the popcorn entertainment factor in its action, animation, earlier twists and music.

Even with a meh closure to the series, I still found this anime to be far more enjoyable and just better than Re:Zero, Tappei Nagatsuki's biggest hit. For once his show didn't bore me to tears, so I rate that. Defintely had ambition too, shame his writing style just is a bit too sloppy for my liking.

The scene where Vivy is walking in the ruins of NiaLand park, basically her home, with the music and all that's happening in the story, the scene is so impactfull and beautiful
Gonna miss watching this show on saturdays..

Well that sure was a mediocre ending to an incredibly underwhelming show.

Art was mostly fine but I hated those close ups where they would try and make things super detailed. The definitely thought they looked good but god were they ugly most of the time.

The story was an absolute mess as a lot of time travel stories are. Everything from episode 3 to episode 10 was absolutely pointless (even if the episodes where she was Diva instead of Vivi were the most entertaining)

Jun Fukuyama tried to carry things with a fun performance but it just wasn't enough. 5/10

I thought it was a pretty nice ending. And the song was good too. I still think WIT's adaptation of the original unpublished story is what made the show as good as it was though. I love the close-ups with the additional detail in the art. The super-detailed AI eyes in particular made me think it was classic WIT Studio lol. Just thinking back on all the super detailed irises in Attack on Titan.

It was a pretty good show. Not a masterpiece, but very very few shows are worthy of this status and prolly not 9 worthy either but definitely an 8 for me

I seriously don't know what I'm feeling right now, am I happy? am I sad? The episode flew by just in a blink of an eye (as it usually does, but this time it went by even faster). One thing I can say for sure, this anime was one helluva ride, the music, the action, the simple yet attention grabbing story, and finally the satisfying ending that actually felt like an end to this amazing story. Truly an amazing anime, definitely a 10/10 for me.

What a cost..... After Vivy saves the world with her song, she loses all her memories.

Navy... I miss that one, she was Vivy ex. support before Matsumoto comes and wrecks all moments in Ep.1&2. Nice Reunion.

Wow some action from Elizabeth, not at best but still worth it to watch. Elizabeth really likes fighting, maybe they should make alternative series about her too, lol.

Matsumoto is the real MVP today. I thought he's dead but after credit, well i should know how much his clone left now. Matsomoto is the best support, he deserves for it.

Hello, yes. I'm just here to say I'm a complete mess right now.

I find it funny how the end of this anime is literally a musical number about how the adventure is more important that the conclusion and yet the conclusion was also quite solid.

Loved the show, absolutely loved it…. That said, I think every dedicated watcher of the show could’ve predicted the ended after the second sister arc. That predictability stole the tension of a finale from me. It was a decent finale, the music was great, the outcome was what it was. I’m not mad, sad, nor disappointed. I’d still recommend the show. I’m not well versed in the “Anime Original” debate as I’ve only seen shows where a story with a manga/LN adaptation got an anime original ending. So I am not qualified to judge or rank this anime original compared to others.

My biggest let down will always be the finale. I wanted to be left in tears or emotionally impacted by the loss of a MC… instead I thought I was walking away with a “yeah that’s how it’s supposed to play out”, but instead I walked away with a revival/reincarnation. If this was the case, why just a Vivy? Why couldn’t the other sisters be brought based on the fact that Matsumoto was probably the architect of Vivy’s restoration.

Final MAL score 8/10 since I can’t half it. Real final score
8.75/10.

Oh man what a finale, as always, the episode was great!

We got to see Vivy take the second chance in order to prevent the demise of the human race, and she succeeded in doing so, and I absolutely loved hearing the song that she was singing

We also got to see Vivy get reincarnated, and it was nice to see Matsumoto and Vivy reunite

Overall, I found the anime to be very good from start to finish, I would definitely give it an 8-9/10!

I could have done without that post-ending scene tbh, I like when it's more dramatic.

Anyways Vivy was definitely the highlight of the spring season, 8/10.
I'd rate it a 9/10 but, I don't know, I feel like it lacks something.

Great ending for a great anime.
The last song combined with Vivy's memories was really emotional, I was sad that she had to shut down.
I'm glad she got revived in the future but sadly her without her memories, Vivy looks good with short hair but I prefer her with long hair better :D.
This anime had an amazing soundtrack and I got to especially give praises to Studio Wit for making this anime look so beautiful.
It's been awhile since I've seen such a good anime original.

Overall 9/10.

Vivy is definitely the best girl of this season. I must say at first I thought it was AI-related re-zero but it was something more incredible. The animation was top-tier class thank you wit-studio please keep up the good work. I think the ending was really really good. And the op was definitely one of the best out there. There won't be a second season I hope there isn't one as the ending is perfect the way it is. There were some flaws but they can be neglected
Finally, the anime is definitely a 9/10
I wish to watch more such good anime.

I feel like they could've delved into the AI vs. humans ethical dilemma a little more, but in a way I liked how the show went in with the assumption that the audience in 2021 is already aware of some of the issues with AI so they skip a lot of the painfully obvious stuff that every piece of media with these themes already cover. I guess it's also more of a story of Vivy's personal journey so the ending wrapped that up pretty well.

Overall I feel exactly the same about this show as I did Violet Evergarden (similar vibe imo, for anyone looking for recs), which is that the premise was interesting and there were plenty of good moments but ultimately I almost never resonate with this "female lead who learns what emotions are for the first time" character archetype. I think it's a decent 7/10 show but I understand why some people really enjoyed it more.

It was solid but could’ve been better.
7.5/10.
Loved the aesthetics. Loved the two main characters. Enjoyed the ideas and themes it was utilizing. The writing was just a bit too sloppy especially near the end. The whole sacrifice/revive trope is rather silly but at least not Dragon Ball levels of tomfoolery. Vivy rocking the short haircut in the post credits scene was really nice, too bad it’s so brief.

Thankfully I still find this memorable and iconic due to my experience with the likes of Violet Evergarden, which honestly helped.

A very emotional ending to a great show.

WIT Studio surprised me last year too with Great Pretender, but they didn't manage to stick the landing there as well as they did with Vivy.

I'm expecting great things from Moonrise whenever that comes out.

if the word "convoluted" had to be animated, it would be this

Its so much random nonsense stitched together in whatever way the story needs it.
But I would be lying if I said I did not like it, the execution was way too good for that.

PS: I can see why it appeals to the normies but the top 100 ranking is still ridiculous

Eh, okay ending. Didn't really care for anything that was going on cause everything that happened was too "safe." It was predictable Vivy was going to sacrifice herself and end up being "reborn" again in the end anyways since she's an AI. And we have Matsumoto doing his thing with his plot-convenient, weird cube powers again.

I really loved this show up until episode 5 (it was my AOTS up until that point), then it started going downhill like most original anime do. The writing is messy, but it's not surprising considering it dealt with time-travel aspects and focused on depicting certain "major" events that spanned over 100 years. Not like as if changing those events mattered anyways, but I guess it's mainly for Vivy's character development and memories. That said, at least the songs were nice and the fighting choreographies were great. Overall, not a very memorable show but somewhat entertaining nevertheless. 6.5/10 for me.

Honestly it was kinda an emotional ride from the moment she started singing. Knew that this was coming, but it was done right. It is kinda sad that this was the final "boss" or event of the anime, but using music+some mess is always going to work for my heart I guess

7/10 From me, the first two arcs were wonderful, Island was good too, then from Ophelia arc only good part was Diva - cool senpai, who was wasted, and then the last arc only had good first episode with Diva in museum.

The antagonists were all underwhelming and with poor motivations, which didn't detract at the beginning, but harmed show at the later episodes, where both Toak guy and end villain's motivations were dumb. Ending went for both bitterwseet and "everybody (who matters) lives" endings, which undermined each other.

Just give me back Ophelia arc's Diva instead of yet another restart but with required symbolic short hair, she was really cool.

Unfortunately this had the same problem as Great Pretender where the last few episodes basically threw away most of the good build up the series had going for it right down the gutter. And the even repeated the same mistake of throwing in a post credits scene that completely ruins a character's fate and development. It basically felt like everything the series was building up didn't matter and that really disappointed me. The show's still a 7/10 for the entire thing but dang, the last few episodes really hurt it in the long run.

That was an ok ending. Imo Vivy should have stayed "dead" at the end, reviving her or whatever kinda undermines the sacrifice she made to save humanity.

Minority here- I found it started off strong, but just got weaker as it went on. Found last episode to be predictable and cliche. I thought let me guess... she shuts down at the end.. and wakes up with no memory trope. Ah not disappointed rofl.

Decent show 7/10.

Ok look, i'm not going to try and argue here, but it's obvious. cause you know she an Android. You can always remake them. I honestly thought they were going to give her her memory and everything, you know, extracting the memo from the destroyed AI and putting it in a new one. The only other scenario I could imagine is like destruction of world as we know it, so nobody would be able to reconstruct her.
So it just makes sense to me ending it like this.

It was a little disappointing that she never got her memory back, but to be fair we built up to the point explaining that even with memories or preloaded parameters you can't really clone or recreate a personality--not without experiencing it yourself. That said, even if the trope got weaker, I think it was executed so well it was worth it.

Did I miss something? Wasn't she suppoused to stop the AI with her song? Because at the end the did the same infiltration as last time but with the info that Vivy told them... so basically, they did the same but succededed and vivy song did nothing (it was a cool song tho).

I don't get it, it's like watching episode 11 and 12 on turbo with soundtrack and a happy ending (well, kinda, I mean a lot of people died lol). I lowered my 9 to an 8 because of this ep... kinda sad, but still better than most endings.

Fell free to speak if you think I missed something.
