| It's fascinating to me. Even in knowing what would happen to Oden, I still caught me cheering for him to survive and beat the timer. I don't think there are any words to describe what this man managed to do. 1 hour in boiling oil with Kinemon and the others on his back is beyond crazy. In comparison imagine being such a child like Orochi, that you need to change the rules over and over again to your advantage because otherwise you would lose. Yes, that's Orochi for you. Just the biggest scum in the One Piece world. Oden mentioned some very interesting things about his ancestors who are responsible for Wano Kuni being isolated from the rest of the world for all that time. We still don't know anything about the connection of Wano with the void century or what that enormous force was they seemingly feared and that ended up being the reason for that isolation. So there's still a lot of need for clarification. I'm happy for Oden. At least at the end everyone heard about what he did for the people in Wano all this time. His name finally got cleared. He also managed to help Kinemon and the rest to escape from Orochis execution and with that most importantly his will will live on. Oh so Kaido killed that old hag for interfering? Still doesn't change anything about the outcome of the fight but somehow it's satisfying to hear she got rekt by him. What a bittersweet moment at the end where a dying Oden sinks to the ground with a smile on his face. He's truly the hero of Wano and won't ever be forgotten. I had such an amazing time following his story and understanding how big his impact really was, not only for Wano but also for people like Whitebeard and Roger. A true legend! |

| Awesome episode. But making characters this strong really raises questions: why didn't they fight Kaido right there instead of jumping in the pot? I mean: we've seen CLEARLY Kinemon and the other retainers break their handcuffs, meaning of course Oden could have done that easily too. Why not just doing it from the start and pulling a new fight right there right then? The only way to make this all work would have been by chaining Oden the way Doflaming and Big Mom were when they were captured. But just some tiny handcuffs to stop a yonko-level samurai?! Come on... |

| For anyone who's complaining about this episode, just be glad that they at least didn't extend the Retainer's flashbacks to be like 6-7 minutes long, granted this episode definitely could have been paced better, but I enjoyed it nonetheless. Oden's story was enjoyable from start to finish and I really can't wait to jump back into the present |

| Again, it was slow, but at least important things happened here, between them, Oden’s death. Well, I think that he knew from the beginning that he’d not make it, his death is sad, but a symbol for his people. I know what Kaido said, but I'm not sure if he killed Higurashi, it would be awesome hahaha. |

Orochi ..... gets a fate worse than death, the fact that hes able to reign the kingdom for 25 years, he HAS to get immeasureable amount of consequences accumilated. Orochi being a scumbag, playing dirty as always But wow the eye catcher though that Luffy has reflects the same as what Roger has! The way Kinemon broke the chains off of his handcuffs... But that was difficult to watch ... |

If anything, when it comes to the legendary trio (Roger, Whitebeard, Oden), it was Roger's death that was lame since he gave himself up to the Marine and got executed instantly by being stabbed. Oden saved hundreds of hostages and citizens every day for 5 years and if it wasn't for his sacrifice, his Retainers would have died too, meaning that it's because of Oden, that Wano is being saved right now.    If Oden didn't do the sacrifice and his Retainers went in the pot too, all of his Retainers would have died instantly, meaning Luffy and co would have never met Kinemon in Punk Hazard and learned about the situation in Wano. The same goes for Neko and Inu in Zou. If it wasn't for Oden's sacrifice, Wano would never be saved because his Retainers would be dead so the Samurai of Wano would have never rallied together. What Oden did was the best possible outcome, given the situation he was dealing with. Judging from Oden's last words ("I am a story to accompany your drinks" and "I am Oden and I was born to boil"), he highly likely knew (after finding Laugh Tale) that it was his destiny to die and start the ushering of a New Age in the world, starting with opening up his homeland, Wano. He knew that his sacrifice was necessary so that the Wano Borders get opened in 20 years, to welcome "Joy Boy". Also, despite me having written a whole paragraph as to why Oden did what he did, nobody in this show is flawless. Whitebeard didn't do anything to avenge Thatch (one of his sons) when Blackbeard killed him. Which completely goes against what we heard about Whitebeard, how he never forgives anyone who kills one of his men. Roger literally wanted to bring a child into the world despite knowing that he's very sick and is gonna die before the baby is even born, leading to Ace's mom dying, and Ace growing up without his parents. Roger being Ace's father is also the whole reason why Ace got executed/died. Roger got his wife and child killed, yet nobody criticizes him for his selfish wish of bringing a child into the world that neither he nor his wife is even gonna raise. |

Well he might not be dead , even seing his dead body wouldnt be enough for me to say hes dead , at least hes dead untill he come back One of the possibility for him surviving would be cause the temperature of his body was higher than fire itself , that mean the oil was actualy cold to him , but he still died so i guess his body wasnt that hot One more possibility would be his haki , it seems he have 2 diferent "aura" of haki , so its possible that thoses haki could be used to protect him One more , he could have eat a fruit to make him resistant to elements while he was with roger , the effect would stop cause kaido shot him with thoses anti power balls Of course the most simple one was that his body could endure high heat cause of the power of being an anime chqracter in a shonen anime , or cause hes a super warrior that can cut a dragon in half and survive his dragon breath One last but i think its impossible , and hard to explain since english isnt my main language , but its possible that by moving his body at light speed , the heat wouldnt be able to touch him |
