when i was in middle school, i trained myself to be able to lucid dream, and a side effect of this was sleepwalking and sleep paralysis. i haven't had a case of sleep paralysis since then, but the other night it happened and made me wonder how many people have had it happen to them and what their experience is like.

for me, someone asked me a question and then started laughing. i opened my eyes and felt but couldn't see a figure standing directly over me. the laughing kept getting louder, and when i tried to move i heard a screeching noise, and i wasn't able to move at all.

I had that many times in the past. It's one of the worst feelings ever. You're clearly awake, but you can see a horrible black shadow monster standing at the end of your bed, and it comes slowly closer and you can't move or make any noise at all. It's like being sucked into hell. This is what hell feels like.
If life ain't just a joke
Then why are we laughing?

yes, I bet it's funny if you're looking at the person having it but experiencing it was damn scary.

I don't know if this counts as sleep paralysis because I didn't see any hallucinations or hear anything out of the ordinary, but when I was a kid I once woke up unable to move, open my eyes, or talk.

I was aware I was awake but my eyelids and body just refused to move no matter how hard I tried, and that also meant I couldn't open my mouth to let out even the slightest sound. This went on for about a few minutes, I guess? Eventually I was able to move my body, starting with my feet. This only happened once but it spooked me so much as a kid lol

Exactly the same for me, no hallucinations and unable to move. It happened when I was 8 years old and I couldn't stop crying after. The last time it happened was 2 years ago, I was on the bus with my friend, I fell asleep and end up in sleep paralysis, my head fell on her shoulder, luckily I had already talked to her about this and she knew what was happening.

I experience it around every 3 months or so. Really spooky but I am used to it now. I learned to wiggle my toes to break me out of it.

im only 13, but its common for me to get sleep paralysis. i dont get nightmares but twice every week or so I'll experience it. its honestly frightening and I dont know why i get it so much. the noises in ur head gets louder and louder, and thats probably the scariest part for me. one time the "demon" sat on my hand so it could press harder onto my chest, its the worst 3 minutes of ur life

My first sleep paralysis happened when I was 16. To make matters worse, it started after watching a horror movie. It wasn't even that scary (lole big words cus I was with friends) but when the day ended and I was trying to sleep, nope. Demons in my head go brr

Few times semi-conscious but unable to move or get myself to fully awake felt like lasted a long time, family member also experiences it and claim they have blurry vision of a person near them sometimes, while is hard to believe but I once had glimpse of a cloudy figure shaped like person standing next to the bed my parents while I got to the bedroom trying to wake them from sleep paralysis struggle, but I immediate lost track of the figure as it blended into the background, kind of freaky because parents say they saw it before I woken them.

Not really sure when but we stopped getting paralysis for maybe a decade now.

Hey. A similar situation happened to me recently. Of course, I decided to look at information about this on the Internet. And you won't believe what my surprise was when I read that marijuana can help with sleep disorders. Having studied even more in detail, I came to the conclusion that this is true. Here's a cool site https://wayofleaf.com/ where you can find out more information.
And you also knew that it is even added to food. There are many cooking recipes.

It's def not "normal" as it comes and goes here. Didn't have that happen to me regularly in almost a decade.

However from 10 to 25, I'd sometimes kick out so hard thinking I was falling that I'd get massive cramps. Like, cramps you can't get any other way. Legs so hard they felt made of stone. And the pain... Woke up the whole house screaming a fair amount of time.

Only once. I was about 3 years old. There was a photo of an eagle above my brothers bed and I had a sleep paralysis where it broke through my window and it was 10x bigger than myself. It was clawing into my upper back and cawing at me. The only thing I said to it was "no...?" and it flew off. I layed there in bed face down for what seemed like hours after it left. I had no idea that sleep paralysis was a thing at the time so I just brushed it off as a nightmare.

Yes I do, and I bloody hate it! I would sometimes wake up, unable to move, talk, not even being able to open my eyes for like 10 seconds before being able to move a limb and get out of it. It’s a pretty scary feeling really, it’s almost as is if you were going to be stuck paralysed forever with no one to help you get out of it.

Yes, sadly I have had it all my life. I never even knew what it was back when I was little, but I would would always wake up crying at night from it. Sometimes after dealing with it even as an adult I still feel like responding to it that way. XD
