| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- OOH, another Shounen-type story, but this is a lot different than most powerhouses out there. Even though this is more towards the In/Spectre kinds of dark shows, it still relatively remains as a Shounen base. so it is at that to keep the fresh uniqueness despite not being a foundation of such genres. Kabane "Doratabo" Kusaka seems like the kind of boy that you'll want to distance yourself with, but the supernatural kind just makes his presence stand out even more with the precious lifesake of a "lifestone" to protect his transformative hybrid Kemono ghoul self. Seems like we're in for another In/Spectre action-mystery show again, that's for sure...but thankfully without the aggressiveness of the latter's story arcs, but episodic ones in and of itself (so it's easier to stomach). Manga fans, you're rest assured. Chapter 1 (and the first parts of Chapter 2) was adapted perfectly. I'm very looking forward to Ajia-Do making more works like these to expand the studio's coverage, but so far, I'm in for this ride. |

| Really interesting start, obviously Kabane didn't die from a bullet in his head, his kemono form was really terrifying though, and I guess that later he will have problems with his necklace seal because he seems out of control without his necklace, I also wonder what will happen now that they're in Tokyo, that boy and girl at the end seem to be important for the story too |

A spider yokai? Tsuchigumo? I'm just going by how they where dressed because Kabane is dressed as a "zombie/skeleton" which symbolizes that he's undead. Overall I really enjoyed the first episode. |

| A pretty slow start but not too bad. Some glimpses of the action when Doratobo/Kabane went kemono mode looked really nicely animated, more than what I expected, and the art in general looked pretty damn solid. The premise setup might not be that exciting for many people due to the timid nature of this episode for the most part, but I found this to be a better premiere episode than stuff like Jujutsu Kaisen last season which is a much bigger shounen anime that deals with supernatural content and a lot of action and it helps that there isn't an obnoxious amount of comedy that just ruins the sort of unnervingly quiet feel of this episode. In fact, so far at least from what I've seen, definitely the best premiere I've seen this season that isn't a sequel. Horimiya's poor directing and pacing ruins that from being better than this episode in my opinion whereas this felt like it was adapted pretty nicely. |

| Yo this was pretty neatly made, I like Aija-Do's style. The episode itself was pretty good too. Not too hyper but still quite intriguing. Pacing seemed nice and while the concept is nothing new but looks like we might get a bit gore or atleast I hope we will. Both Kabane and Inugami seemed like likeable characters. Inugami's ability is pretty cool and I wanna know more about Kabane's ability. Decent start, I liked it. Looking forward to more. |

| This was great. A good adaptation of the manga so far. This was super atmospheric, which is a pleasant surprise, the general sound effects and the fantastic OST really brought this to life. |

| Great stuff here. Solid pacing, and interesting premise. Thanks for the high quality, Aija-Do (but action could be more fluid). Probably one of the best 1st episodes in the entire season for me. |

| The soundtrack is so prominent, kinda hard to not notice it, really helped to set the tone of the episode. About the show itself, it's surprisingly dark, with a really interesting start, also unlike most adaptations this one put an actual effort into the animation, they even have 2D Cars(and monsters). Nice episode. |

| Seeing Kemono Jihen animated makes me very very happy. Great art, animation, soundtrack, and voice acting right off the bat! Looking forward for more episodes and to see others reaction and discussion to the upcoming episodes. This season is just great. |
| Even if this is supposedly quite accurate with its source material and pacing choice, it doesn't feel like anything particularly appraisable or worth any buzzfeed about at all. I might check out the source material real soon, but this premiere is extremely meek compared to that of Sk8 and Horimiya. The animation is alright for most part, but nothing really special. Kinda fails to capture the darker stuff properly, imho. I do like the easily established dynamics between Kabane and Kohachi, though. |

| Woah... way better than I expected. Based off of the first EP, loving this way more than Jujutsu Kaisen. And the music! It was wonderful. I'm always paying attention to the music and sound design, and this gets a passing grade from me. Haven't read the manga, but I hope that the adaptation does it justice. |

| I can already say that this is the best anime of this season. It really gave me the goosebumps when Kabane transformed and those ghoul dogs and that deer, Perfectly executed. And the OST is also interesting. To me it seems to be a mixture of Jujutsu Kaisen, Kyokou Suiri and a little bit of Dororo. That tail exposing scene tho, didn't see that coming 😅 I was expecting Inugami to transform into some weird looking creature.... Also I really wanted Yataro to die, these kinda kids really gets on my nerves... Kabane in that new outfit looks too cute XD Can't wait for next episode! Also looking forward to the OP by Ono Daisuke! |
| Yesss that was a surprisingly good first episode! Better than I was expecting ngl. I've been excited to see them animated since I read the news about the adaptation, i hope they continue doing a good job. It's not going to be a genre changing story but should be really enjoyable if they don't mess up |

| Great start, pretty dark for shounen anime and there is even a bit of gore. The ep was paced well, concept wasn't the most original one but still decent. Characters seemed likable, and it looks like moving to Tokyo will set premise of the anime. Damn Winter 2021 is fucking stacked. |

| I already started reading the manga a few months ago and I absolutely love it so I've been hyped for the anime to come out. I'm surprised at how well paced the first ep was seeing as how freaking long chapter 1 is (75 pages iirc). There wasn't really anything that was lost either as far as I remember. The animation was good as well imo. I assume it'll get better during the action scenes of which there was only one this ep, though I thought it was really good. The one thing I'll say is it doesn't hold a candle to the manga artstyle but that's to be expected (also I'm extremely biased lol). Overall I can't wait for the rest of the anime. Judging from the trailers they're gonna adapt to at least chapter 21, but I hope it ends up being 2-cour or gets another season. Just wishful thinking though. |
