Reading this chapter, I really thought what you said in the first spoiler is what happened, especially with that scan, but that wasn't the case.
But I'm surprised that Aiko was the one who put her mom to rest completely, unless she may be lying???

So he wraps a rope around her neck one minute to kill her and asks her to marry him the next. Talk about an abusive relationship. Well I guess that is what he learned from childhood with his own parents. He's just completely got a screw loose in his head.

When I first saw that page of her falling I thought she had died too. This mangaka loves to screw with both us and his characters I guess lol

This manga is a never-ending emotional roller-coaster. Once you get on there's no getting off, just up and down, up and down...

BTW, I love the last coloured picture of Aiko. So much better than the previous one showing Nanjou.

so true. So very true

So she really was stabbing her mom after Punpun left? I expected that but didn't expect she was still alive :O

And man is Punpun and this series an emotional roller coaster indeed XD "Let's get married" what a switch of goals in an instant XD

I thought Aiko had died for a second...

Looked back to the chapter after Aiko's mom got killed, can't tell if she really regained consciousness or if Aiko was just lying.

From about to kill her to "Let's get married."

Not only do I think she just told Punpun she killed her mom to stop him from committing suicide, but I have a feeling she stabbed her mom when Punpun walked out with that intention from the get-go. I think she's actually distraught her mother is dead, but she herself is actually trying to protect Punpun aswell

So many people dont understand the significance of this chapter and the one where his uncle talks about his guilt over the other kid getting injured. He clearly has severe issues with people dying and blaming himself the recent abusive violent nature shows his complete breakdown even though he still appears somewhat calm on the outside. It isnt until Aiko absolved him of some of his guilt that he calms down a bit.

^ this. I don't even remember how his best childhood friend looked like though but I do remember seeing a panel of someone getting hit by a vehicle in the early chapters ... So that's how it was

Woah. I thought Aiko was really going to die. Also I never expected that she was the one who killed her own mum.

Watching Punpun attempt to kill Aiko so she would finally get off his case was very hard thing to do but he eventually stopped doing so when he found out that she was the one who dealt the final blow on her mother that day. She lied again and revealed that they're both in deep shit all along a little too late...

Wow I was really thinking that we are about to witness a dead of one of the main characters on any page but it seems like this manga suprised me and many others once again.

Truly one hell of a rollercoaster

It looks like Yuuichi and Punpun's dad are right about Punpun taking responsibility for the actions of others.
Whether or not Aiko did stab her mom is unknown, but she did the right thing by telling Punpun, even if it's a potential lie.

From my understanding, Punpun entered his shadow persona as soon as he knew that his life would be over and lived out the last days as his most honest ID version of himself.
It's a very immature response to stress but much more common than we'd like to think; I'd imagine a lot of real-world abuse and murder happens for these same reasons too.

There are so many life lessons in this manga; it's incredible!
Hoping for a happy ending is something I think all of us want, but I don't think we're going to get that as the closing chapters get closer and closer.
