Do you prefer online class or face-to-face discussion?

Man, I missed face-to-face discussion whenever most teachers provide us more decent discussion about a certain subject with active oral recitation rather than online class with flat feeling while listening to the discussion.

When will this COVID-19 cease? Like, come on... I want a normal day with normal vibes while going to school. I miss going outside with my friends for having a weekly drinking shake. Having online class is boring af because there's literally nothing to do here, and all I am always doing is watching some anime and listening to some good music.

I'll blame China for causing the widespread case.

From which perspective? Online classes are very convenient and a lot less stressful for teachers. Not to mention that you don't need to get up early to go to work and can sit on your chair or couch or bed the entire time. Students, however, may disagree. Or at least the students who are trying to learn something...

I rather go to school but, I voted online class because lol I get to be lazy. Watch some netflix on one screen and just pretend to pay attention when I'm not. It's probably best in person.

I prefer irl since there's not as many things that could distract me. Whenever I'm at home doing school online I always end up opening up another tab and doing something else.

Clearly face-to-face, no doubt. Plus, if I have a question, it's much easier to make myself understood when the profs are right in front of me (and they can notice immediately from your facial expression if you understood the explanation or you're still in doubt).

Online classes are the future, and in my opinion, are much better. By 2030, online education will be an option almost everywhere, which is great, because people have to right to opt out of a social environment.

I wish that online classes existed when I was a kid. It's too late for me now, but kids of today and tomorrow won't have to suffer like I did at least.

I've done both brick n' mortar and online university and I found the learning experience to be much richer and more engaging in an actual classroom.

That being said, I would still take online classes simply because it's cheaper and more convenient. Anyway, I got my degree for the paper that tells companies that I'm smart and not for the actual education or 'college experience'

Face to face definitely, though to be frank I dislike waking up early and prepare. I find that it's difficult for me to discipline myself with online classes and constantly postpone any work because I just feel unmotivated.

I'm afraid you can't escape socialization and socialization learning. It might only take another form with online debating or active group projects via messenger apps. Physical violence at school will progressively be replace by cybercriminality, online harassment, etc.

You might not be a youtuber, an instagrammer or in any network, but one way or another you'll need to interact with people.

Sorry, but you're wrong for the most part. A teacher is the only person you'd need to socialize with. You won't be required to speak to other people your own age in online learning if you choose not to.

If multiple students were listening to an online lecture at once, and a student said something that was inappropriate, the teacher would simply kick them out of the lecture for the day with the click of a button.

I took as many online courses as I could in college. Easier to get work done and I could have time to think up what I want to say in discussions. And could stay home more. Plus easier for me to explain what I'm trying to say online than in class. Also using the syllabus against the instructor (clearly someone who just got assigned in teaching this course) was very satisfactory and lawyering lol.

Face to Face. There's some benefits to online classes like not having to walk across my very large campus lol, but over all face to face is better. My online classes assign a bunch more work, and it was easier communicating and doing group assignments with in person classes. I feel like with online I'm just going through the motions to get a good grade but I'm not really learning as much as I used to.

Why would anyone want a "college experience?" Universities are full of leftist indoctrination, so online classes would prevent that stuff from happening. Then of course, some professors are difficult to understand, with some so bad, that I personally know someone who stayed in their dorm room the entire time, and watched "video lectures" that the schools' website provided, and still managed to pass.

face-to-face makes the learning a million times more effective than online. back when school was online I'd bring my laptop in bed in with me, earphones in, and I'd just sleep through every class and not learn a thing. or if I was awake, I'd be doing something else like discord or making breakfast idek. I found that I couldn't take online school seriously, and being away from my teachers made me lose discipline and my grades actually dropped in the next set of exams smh, cuz I was so lazy. online school is better for people with discipline and independence and I have none of that

ik this question is about the 'quality of education' side of things, but from a social aspect, physically going to school is better for me. outside of school I'm basically not allowed to see my friends so for 2 months I was simply withering away at home from a lack of contact with them

I didn’t mind doing online classes but it wasn’t the same as being in class in person, even when every other person stared at their stupid phones the entire time at least I could interact with the teacher. I think the biggest thing I missed was seeing the teacher; messaging just isn’t the same for me. I had a lot of funny teachers in college so maybe that’s why I prefer classes in person.

Also, I enjoyed going to school; the teachers, the campus, studying... I have fond memories of college. Yeah, I know I’m weird. :)

Online education is the future.
In online space you're can learn from multiple sources and at your own pace.
In traditional system if your teacher sucks you're screwed.
Majority of the time lessons that you can find online are better than what you get in schools.
Lectures aren't just boring, they're ineffective as well according to a study.
https://www.sciencemag.org/news/2014/05/lectures-arent-just-boring-theyre-ineffective-too-study-finds
The only advantage that schools have is a social aspect.
But you can socialize outside of school so it's not a big advantage.
Plus you don't have to be around people you don't like.

Sorry for the late answer. Well, you're right for most of school work. There are very few group projects assigned by teachers, and if everyone was at home, they'd probably force the grouping by random picking. However, our society is constructed on socialized work environment and it is the implicit role of the school to make habit to people for that. So I think, there will always be a forced school physical environment along online education. The only way to prevent that would be if the whole society itself goes fully virtual in all workplace environement but that might not be before a few decades or centuries from now on. Also, even in that extreme case scenario, there will always be people who prefer physical, manual, socializing nd/or touchable work environments ( maybe traditionnal artists, crafters, handworkers, all the socializing jobs in bars, restaurants, etc. )
