One of the on-going series that I'm currently watching is "Otome Game no Hametsu Flag shika Nai Akuyaku Reijou ni Tensei shiteshimatta..." or the English title is "My Next Life as a Villainess: All Routes Lead to Doom!" and it does itself as a fun, non-serious and funny show given the synopsis. The recent 11th episode, which is really enjoyable" goes to a really unexpected tearjerker and it did hit the emotion inside and I wasn't the only when reading in the forum. It was surprisingly interesting.

There were moments in the City Hunter moments through the 4 series that had that on me which were pretty unexpected.

So, what are series that went unexpectedly heart-wrenching even if it was such a small section that hit hard in the feels?

Well, I cried like a little bitch in half the episodes of Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann, even though it is an extremely positive series. I definitely didn't expect that.

Say I Love You I honestly didn't expect to get as sad as I did. And although it technically should be expected given it's a drama, Run With the Wind in no way did I expect it to be as emotional as it was, especially the last arc

but if we're talking about manga, definitely Will you marry me again if you are reborn?...........jeez :P

End of chimera ant arc.
I didn't expect to care so much about fictional characters.

Anime was it's best 20000 years ago, when cavemen drew art with real depth.
Modern anime is all garbage. I miss great old days of anime.

Ending of Kill la Kill. I don't think it's meant to be a tear jerker in the most traditional sense but it just hit me hard.

One Piece and Major.
I cry over the death of minor characters in One Piece.Don't know why but their loss feels genuine.

The first six episodes of Major is enough to make a grown man cry.The entire franchise is built on this foundation and I love it.Here death is treated with respect as compared to an afterthought in most shounen series.

I didn't expect A Place Further Than The Universe to make me cry, thought it would be some sort of slice of life/comedy sort of story. Ends up making me cry the most I've ever done watching anime lol....

Death Note. I really cried a lot after seeing the ending. It was really sad to me.

OreGairu Season 2. When Hachiman cryingly said, "I want something genuine," I cried too because it was so unusual and out of character for him to genuinely ask others for help.

KonoSuba Season 2. No, I didn't cry watching the anime. I cried when I watched the ending of the final episode of KonoSuba. The ending felt really nostalgic and emotional to me. For some reason, when the ending ended, I found myself shedding some tear.

Just remembered.... the last couple of episodes of Dr. Stone were unexpectedly went very emotional. The first half was light-hearted getting the civilization back with a lot of humor and really fun moments but then, yeah... last couple episodes of the first season kicked the tearjerker levels to new heights and did it in a very beautiful way.

Shirokuma Cafe - A wonderful slice of life series full of great characters, that I figured I would remember mainly for its great humour and wonderful comfiness
Then came episode 44 and I cried like a bitch.
“I just spent the last two years thinking that you guys knew more than me about life and I just found out that you guys are just as dumb as me.” “Duh-doy.” “Yeah, duh-doy.”

Definitely Gugure! Kokkuri-san. I watched this show to laugh, not cry, damn it. Some of the episodes were rollercoasters. I also expected a great adventure from Made In Abyss, then overwhelmed with emotions.

The first season of Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu. I already knew what was gonna happen by the end, but I forgot to put into the equation the fact that I had come to really, really love the characters. The result was me becoming a fossil for a week, even though I've never even cried on any anime.

This. I did not expect this show to put so much emotion in the episodes, especially Episode 11. That was an amazing first half.

It seems you posted already what I wanted to type. The execution of that episode, the direction, the soundtrack and just... everything; Perfect ;_; Not going into details too.
