Honestly this felt more like an animated vn game. The first two girls were much more interesting than the last one. They could at least try to give the protagonist some dialogues.

Really disappointed that this is one of those POV, self-insert, visual novel-ish type of promotional anime.. This could've been pretty decent slice of life moe shorts, and the promo picture looks really good..

I guess you don't really sell your merchandise by making good anime nowadays.

Nah.

I mean, I'm pretty open-minded when it comes to rating based on what a piece is trying to accomplish. If this show was trying to be softcore ecchi porn, fine, then do ecchi well. If it was trying to be a set of cute, short arcs about a relationship with several girls, then tell the story well. Instead, it was basically a collection of tropes supplemented by the most uninspired attempts at ecchi I've seen in a while.

5/10. Hopefully the specials will at least pander a bit more, if nothing else...

well at least i can say that this managed to feel me extremely uncomfortable through and through the entire run. 12 episodes of wasted potential deserves a big fat zero.

That was a bunch of... nothing really. Don't get how people can enjoy this. Wait, I do get it in a way since it's POV with cute girls. But it's not for me.

Beautiful episode, so sweet and heartwarming. I feel really happy now. ^_^

Goddamn, These 4 minutes were literally better than everything Fuuka pulled in terms of 'romance' . XDDD

7/10, really sweet series, people hate it for no reason. I also need to find the song.
it's probably on YouTube just look it up

I dunno, the only arc to hold my interest was the little sister one, the rest was just boring as hell.

I must like pain but...

This ended beautifully, I did not expect to get the feels from POV anime(especially since I was interested because of other reasons). 7/10.

Not bad overall, if it was for the enjoyment I would say 6 or 7/10 but I give it a 5/10 because cringe fanservice and too much cliché

Sweet. Its just sweet, no matter what! Fortunately this last held some good thing and made them lived together at the end. How touchable!

6/10 per totals.
I can't believed, i am kinda loving these kind of thing. But surely its had so much limit and weakness, especially with its duration that lacking the development of the girls character, and the quarter-episodic arcs of style for their main story telling. The self insertion main male protag held some uneasy thought for me too. So, yeah, its not bad, but surely not enough to put in my good lists.

Happy ending. Thank you. This is why I watch animes like this hehe

For obvious reasons, too bad imouto had a bad ending (some will consider it to be bittersweet ending though).

In general, I liked this anime. Simple mini-stories about romantic relationships; cute art and cute girls; a mix of light drama and sweet moments.

In general it was good in what it wanted to be, specially if you are not looking for or expecting something grandiose.

This was an uplifting episode glad that he came after her when she went home and made a novel about her and glad that she wasn't as sad as she was before, I wonder what happened to the other girls and are we the same character as before.

This season was nice but I expected a long 24 min each episode since that would've been much better but still enjoyed watching each episode but it felt lacking in the story

I thought at the start that they're gonna have the full song play over footage of what actually happens, and I really wish they did. I think it could've been brilliant. I also really want to hear a full version of this song.
This was an interesting show, if nothing else. It was actually surprisingly okay for what it was.
A good and unexpected 6/10 from me. Now to the next season...

On the show in general, the concept definitely feels alien, I still believe this is supposed to be a VR related tech demo of sorts, and the lack of actual dialogue takes a lot away from the impact the show could've had. The girls were pretty sweet all around, and I absolutely love their designs, and the show's art in general.

I know it's plenty to think about and mostly none of it has anything to do with the actual content of One Room, but I have to give this props for conjuring up all of these thoughts even a week later.

Score adjusted to 8/10.

I do think that the show deserves a fair bit of the credit for prompting the thoughts you had about it. After all, the majority of the people involved in the show are all creatives as well, and would have gone through those very same struggles of trying to get recognition, battling self doubt and lack of success, and potentially worrying about the impact it had on those around them. So it's not like those feelings come from nowhere.

On top of that, it seems less likely that it would have been as thought provoking if not for particular aspects of the plot choices, dialogue choices and the production quality. Whilst none of them are award winning, they're also quite good for what there is, and the song is better than many other insert songs for full animes, and I've added it to my anime song playlist. (Kibou Refrain by Suzuko Mimori for those who wanted to find it)

As a side note, an interesting outcome of the POV format means there's a lot more "story telling by inference" which elevates the story telling above exposition heavy shows.

It was nice to see this response so many years later. Admittedly I'm in a similar situation now so it's a bit encouraging to see these kinds of feelings resonating again.
