| I think it really boils down to where your good friends are at. The people I communicate with on a daily basis all reside on Discord, as such, I spend a whole lot of time on there as opposed to other messaging applications. So yes, I'm fairly active on Discord, but only for a circle of friends. |

If you're using Google Chrome, that's built on top of Chromium. The difference is Google Chrome is proprietary and probably has a few more features. Ungoogled Chromium is Chromium, except every spyware functionality has been taken out. I tested this personally by sniffing all packets and not a single unsolicited packet was sent. |

| I used to rarely used Discord, but I find myself using it more frequently now, mainly because I’m sick of Reddit, and I like how each server is dedicated to a specific topic while also having a community of individuals you can get to know instead of just a name like on Reddit. One server I frequent consists mainly of people I’ve spoken with only online years ago. |

| I don't really get the appeal. Especially of these servers so big there isn't any consistency or much subsistence. Maybe if I found a small community I enjoyed, then maybe. I just remember back then when people used Skype exclusively. Until people realized how easy it was to find others IPs. Then everyone migrated to TS. On TS you can still see other's IPs, but only if your the admin or permitted to. |

| Been on Discord twice and have trouble with the UI a bit, I'm too used to IRC and the simplicity of text only. You ident then join a channel, they're both basically the same but having to navigate Discord is a serious PITA so I don't use it much. Been considering it more lately since most communities use it over IRC now (sadly). |

| Yes, after avoiding discord for years I finally caved in and made an account and now I use it much more than I use MAL. It's fun if you have a group of friends, not much of a fan of the very big servers. The bots are really fun and cool. For proper lengthy discussions/debates I still prefer forums but for fun discord is cool. Keysers said: Maybe if I found a small community I enjoyed, then maybe. | I don't I just don't see the point, the servers remind of irc and YouTube and Twitch chats where everyone just spams and talks over each other, voice channels from what I've seen are just mindless banter and trolling. I suppose Discord could be fine if you want to chat with friends but since I use other social media platforms for that I have no use for it. I was thinking about making my own server but I'm too lazy to do that right now, maybe at some point in the future. |

| Discord has had quite some grave bugs and problems - at least during the recent months when I noticed them through using Discord more often 1) lag or no connectivity. No connectivity seems to happen more often on phone. Sometimes, the mobile network is affected even though I have good enough 4G/LTE reception or full WiFi signal at home. Also lag on my desktop computer with the chat messages sometimes, even though I have a wired 50/10 Mbitps connection and by far not a slow computer. By far not the fastest, but an i5 with 16GB RAM and an SSD should be more than enough to handle Discord It also doesn't update properly the messages sometimes when you use it at the same time on phone and on Desktop 2) no notifications. This for some reason happens with some when you write messages on a Desktop computer towards someone, who isn't using the Desktop version Another thing is: when you are logged in on your Desktop, sometimes, even after the set time of inactivity, you don't get notified on your phone. And sometimes, you only get either sound notifications or the messages in your message centre displayed If not for the eye-friendly GUI and the wide-spread use, I would like to switch to a possibly more reliable service |
