| Are carrots bitter? Is that a thing? I've never tasted a carrot that's bitter. ...That aside, this was a good episode. It had a nice mix of content, adding some mystery in the first half and some nice slice-of-life in the second. The entire thing about Hikari and the halo-maker was cute. The ending is weird, but in a good way. The visuals remind me of Evangelion's ending and the song reminds me of Coraline's soundtrack, strangely. It sounds otherworldly. |

| I'm really liking this show so far. The atmosphere is very relaxing, the characters are very nice to follow (I particularly like Reki, she's got a great personality, but everyone else is very likable too, especially Hikari who's just so much fun), and there are a lot of interesting details that might lead to something even more interesting. I just hope it won't become too dark though, and instead will keep its relaxing vibes even if things get heavier. Oh and just a little detail, but I'm surprised Kuu and Kana turned out being girls, they look quite masculine. And then, does it mean only girls can be among the Haibane ? I wonder. Anyway, this show might become a favorite of mine if it keeps being this good. I hope it won't disappoint. |

| Never thought of carrots as bitter. Cooked carrots are sweet, and even raw carrots have subtle sweet taste when chewn enough. Maybe it depends on the type of carrot, or their environment of production. "What is trash to us, is food for the crows" draws parallels to the haibane having to wear used clothing. It mentions earlier that the caretaker lives with them in Old Home, along with the Young Feathers. |

| What's a more heavenly treat than halo pancakes? The atmosphere is kinda tense with those masked guys around but the little wing wiggles the haibane have to do to answer them is pretty adorable |
| The Toga people and The Communicator are intriguing characters. I like the desolate and strange setting of this show thus far. The darker undertones and implications are a bit more notable with the small tidbits of worldbuilding we get and the more we know about Reki. 4/5 |

| The backgrounds in this anime are so beautiful. I feel like Reki is hiding something. There must be a reason why she doesn't let Rakka enter her room. |
