I'm on Itsuki ship, but this chapter was so good. Yotsuba deserved to win this battle. ...And boy I'm really so glad Miku didn't win. |

This is what it feels here as well he said it himself that he wants her ti be by his side and support him in this chapter. That my reason for not calling it love @Supersky: Yotsuba has always been the second most popular in Japan overall but Nino was always pretty close. Nino's popularity waned over the course of the manga, or stagnated since the growth with the anime onlies because the anime didn't do her much favor and Negi stopped developing her character in the manga. Miku, despite of her immense popularity, ended up becoming the reason for her own loss. The way she was made into a Miku-Nino pair in the later chapters was quite glaring. Ichika's character was strangled to death immediately after the start of the race, so there was no comeback for her. Itsuki didn't even have a proper growth, just like Yotsuba. Who knew this would come handy: Yotsuba was my second favourite for a huge duration of the manga and probably still was when she was made into an emotional sandbag. I am more disappointed because of the way it happened than the actual outcome. It seems super rushed and it seems like Negi was really burnt out as many predicted based on the answers of his interview published a few weeks back. Special Note: STOP SPOILING GO-TOUBUN IN OTHER THREADS. YOU ARE BEING TACTLESS. On another note: Also, people should stop comparing Uruka with Yotsuba just because they have several things in common a) Genki b) having a common past with the MC and c) the reason for the MC's change. But the similarities ends there for the MC of the present. Uruka has been at the forefront of all the emotions sentiment of Nariyuki of the present. You cannot deny those chapters. Yotsuba wasn't in the case of Fuutarou. Everything happened in Yotsuba's monologues. The other girls evoked those sentimental feelings for Fuutarou. If people don't like Uruka's character then it is one thing. But saying that she doesn't have what it takes to end up with Nariyuki is wrong. The manga gave more hints than ever. Even the latest volume cover, which could be the one before the penultimate volume, proves that she is different from the other girls to Tsutsui. |

Yotsuba deserved it to the one to be honest. She was literally the 3rd wheel helping her sisters while setting aside her own feelings and she was Fuutarous support during chapter 1. No one in the sisters accepted Fuutarou at first other than Yotsuba. |

I still think there is going to be plot twist... One chapter said that the bride and Futaro kissed for the first time during the trip and we still didn't have any confirmation from Yotsuba that she did kiss him that time. Unless author will leave this as a plot hole... |

Who the actual winner is has zero effect on my judgement of manga. So quality wise go toubun was a superior manga to kaminomi (atleast for me). KamiNomi was too male-mc centric for me thus I never felt any kind of connection with any girls. Girls were treated with villan of the week like formula, with their actual value in the series to be nothing more than steps for mc. |

I thought it was just predictably obvious (like every harem ever) and it's gonna be Itsuki and couldn't afford to care too much, but I was clearly wrong. The author clearly thought the entire manga out in a way that just makes perfect sense when you re-read it, using foreshadowing and ignoring tropes brilliantly. This might be the best "actual" harem of all time. You actually missed the real fun bro. Reading the manga and discussing mad theory on the subreddit have made the manga more awesome to me. Being part of that community would have definitely pushed this manga to your best harem manga candidate. |

Goddamn it this chapter went how I thought it would go, there's no hope left. It's all over I badly wanted it to be Nino,I still can't get over Nino's confession, there goes the hype for S2 for me and Itsuki was never in the race and here I thought she would get an arc I wanted to see more of her. Well props to her for supporting yotsuba. Negi tortured yotsuba throughout the manga and made her win finally. At least it was done well, her efforts were rewarded. I sink with my ship, NinoGang4ever. |

All these chapters to have the same old shit. First girl (unless childhood friend) always wins. At this point only Itsuki winning would make as little sense. Well, at least Youtuba doesn't suck like most romcom winners. |

Yeah I'm not a big fan of childhood friend trope. And whilst it was touching in a way and I honestly love Yotsuba to bits I'm still unconvinced by the romance. Their relationship never came across as anything but friendship and I feel the romance is really forced especially from Fuutarou. She also seemed to be written as the most "side character" of the quints. Though again I must reiterate Yotsuba is precious and I'm certainly not unhappy. Just wish the Author did a better job at giving them more development that leaves an underwhelming conclusion. |

I think this is the fairest decision from author. I mean Yotsuba is the one who always pro and support him since day 1. I also like it because it's not like the usual "hatred turned love" end girl like most Romcoms *cough*NIsekoi*cough*DomeKano*cough*, and i can give Negi a big round of applause for that. |

I don't get Fuutarou's reason since they didn't exactly have a lot of romantic moments but I get the feeling that you want to be with the one who supported you the most. In a way, Fuu made a very good choice. Now what will we get in the next few chapters? But the manga feels rushed at this point. Not the last few chapters, but the arc overall. I mean come on, he changed his mind way too quickly and we deserve a college arc. |

Gab5 said: It is a realistic choice so I'm happy that we didn't get any cheap plot twists and ended up with something that appears to be logical. Yotsuba was, pretty much, everyone's 2nd choice and the fact that she was supportive of him throughout was there for all to see. She didn't need the 'development' of the other characters, which looked more like a crush to me, she was a constant the whole time and always had his back. He doesn't seem like the kind of person who would respond to a crush, more like someone who would appreciate support and someone who was reliable. Happy to see a decent choice, for a change, in one of these stories. So many end in baffling and illogical choices, choosing people who have not been particularly good to the main character. Exactly my thoughts. Yotsuba winning here felt completely logical to me. Just because other girls like 2 and 3 put in more "effort" doesn't mean they somehow deserve to win Fuu more than anybody else. Yotsuba was the first one to accept him when he became their tutor and was constantly supportive of him throughout the series without being overbearing or pushy. Also, it didn't really feel like any of the others really considered his feelings when they, you know, kissed him and all that. I don't even think Fuu knows or would even care that she was the childhood friend. If anything, I think having him fall for the same person two separate times makes it all the more compelling. EDIT: Extra thought - I don't think the "childhood friend" trope even matters in this context. Of course, as of right now, we don't know whether Fuu knows she's the first girl or not, but I find it difficult to say that Yotsuba being the first girl is a main reason as to why he fell for her. |

Ichika falls into a "destined girl" trope tbh since Fuuarou meets her 5 years ago and made a promise with her so she literally was there before any of her sisters made a progress. If I am not mistaken the implication is that he's not even aware that Yostuba is the same girl he meets in the past so technically fuutarou fell for her twice. Feels like the other girls never had a chance lol. |

. I rooted for miku or nino, but yots... Seriously? She l oved and supported him in general but the romance between them doesn't seem stimulated enough for him to choose her over the other girls I loved her character but they had like no interaction besides the childhood memories. I imagined her as that chill sister that would crash at his house when he married one of the other girls... Literally rolling on the floor in distress rn. My mind cant handle this. Like where does he base his love for her from, they did almost nothing together. Imma go sleep |

Negi sensei really need to make a convicing chapter about their romance since it doesn’t really click to be honest. It’s a bit ridiculous since she’s the first of everything for Fuu. If it’s a support, Yotsuba and Itsuki are on the same level. Man, chapter 33,34 39, and 40 really are a big bait. This manga is just for the sake of twist, but for convicing part is not so much. At least make Yotsuba relationship as cute as the other. Well either way it’s Yotsuba for the final girl now, he will be an asshole if he chase her and reject her in the end. I think the bell kisser could be a bait too now. Maybe it was Itsuki, and she became the love martyr? Just for the sense of realism and NTR. Lol |

just find it interesting > Q. What's the main point of manga 5toubun no hanayome in 2019? A. We already passed the turning point. I decided how many volumes are left when I draw vol.7 Ichika cover. I depicted quints' feeling to Fuutarou until now, but since they will marry in the end, so I should their mutual feeling from now on. Focusing on Fuutarou's feeling, I'll draw an ending which is as many readers as possible can accept. I think it's impossible to drag interestingly. My first reaction to this was "Yotsuba!?! That's like Kyōsuke Kasuga picking Hikaru Hiyama in KOR!" I never really found myself ever rooting for Yotsuba but I also never found myself disliking her either. Aside from maybe Itsuki you see the other quints gradually fall in love with Fuutarou (even Itsuki I found had an "in" with Fuuataro's family, which gave her a bit of an edge) So it feels like a bit of a let down that one girl who was picked to was the one I was the least invested in. I'm hoping the next few chapters we'll see a flash back from Yotsuba's point of view to explain why she does love Fuuataro so much and then you can say. "Yeah that totally works, she should be with him." |

Heya everyone! While I don't wanna get into any waifu wars, I have a small question that's been bothering me since the release of this chapter. Ok so, here's the thing: - There was a chapter in the manga where they move to the future wedding part and claim that the wife & Futaro kissed near a temple/shrine. This was the chapter where they go on a vacation and meet the quintuplets' grandparents. On that day for some reason, everyone was disguised as Itsuki and so futaro/we couldn't find out who kissed him. (I can't remember the exact chapter number) - Now in chapter 108 when Yotsuba kisses Futaro, she later gasps to herself that she had done something very bold. So now, I don't think it Yotsuba who kissed him the past near the shrine. Please tell me if I'm missing something here! :') |

So embarrased with Tensura fans and the fandom, how have we degraded |

Funny how in the beginning Uesugi was barely able to keep up with Miku, even when she said she was the worst runner, now he expected to keep up with full athletic Yotsuba? Also, I can't wait to hear Sakura saying those words. Also, what's up with the Tite Kubo reference by the translators? |

Well, the manga is getting a bit boring, this chapter added some emotion, but Negi should have done it several chapters ago. Also, it was obvious that he will pick Yotsuba; it is a neutral fan's decision and the fast ending way from an editor's perspective. I don't know if there is enough time in the next chapters to reverse that decision, but I am glad this manga will end soon because Negi lacked fresh ideas. Sadly, I am not going to be friendly if I write a review because after giving a HUGE panel time to all the other sisters, he picked the one that was almost a ghost, and for some persons, she was just a secondary character. Furthermore, the other sisters evolved during all the panels while Yotsuba was stuck for almost the entire story until chapter108 when Negi realized that. There isn't enough time for Negi to show us enough reasons of why Yotsuba. But then he will say that she was the one that kissed him in the bell, etc etc. Don't take me wrong, I like Yotsuba, but as a character, she needed evolution and dynamic (thing that the other sisters had), the decision feels rushed and incoherent because, as a character, she did not change as the others did. Honestly, I was awaiting that Yotsuba reacts and that she joined the fight but never happened, that's why it feels rushed and misplaced. |

She was literally the 3rd wheel helping her sisters while setting aside her own feelings and she was Fuutarous support during chapter 1. No one in the sisters accepted Fuutarou at first other than Yotsuba. Oh, please! She knew Fuutarou as the Fuutarou from the past. Ofc she would accept him and support him. I dunno if you are just simple minded or plain ignorant. Your statement is an insult to Miku and Ichika as the author insulted his own work. This is why no harem manga will ever top KamiNomi. A reminder why the scanlator used one of the most beautiful pages from KamiNomi in the credit page in the previous chapter (ch. 113). He did not insult his own work (maybe a bit lol), he just let that an editor influenced his rationality and clouded his judgment. The result is a misplaced story and all points that Youtsuba was picked because it was the shortest way to end the story. With any other sister, Negi would need more chapters to explain the reasons; with Yotsuba, it will be easy to say that is Fuutarou's first love, and from my perspective, the magazine did not want any more chapters or Negi got tired and needs a new project. |

I am not sure if you are going to read through this all but I have my points. I know why many manga fails to deliver after an arduous serialization. I have already said that Negi was suffering from burnt out syndrome in the forums. It was around a couple of months back in an interview where he specifically said that he is envious of long running shounen and really admires the mangaka who have maintained long serialization. It was then some people in /a and /r speculated that the manga will be ending abruptly and that's what has happened. It was also evident in the later part of the manga where some panels became sloppy compared to the previous ones. He also took what is apparently the safest route. Miku fans wanted it to be Miku, and the worst case scenario, Yotsuba. It was the same for the Nino fans. Miku and Nino fans were always at the odds with one another. The debates are everywhere on the internet. Even in 5ch. I was one of the first ones who said "Yotsuba Confession >It was a lie >A bad liar" means the confession was real and it will play a big role later. It was also the reason she was my second fave from the early chapters and I myself said I would be okay if it was Yotsuba even during the sisters war arc although by that time the manga had already started to lose all the good things it had worked on and I was readying myself for disappointment. But I was not expecting this retcon of retcons. Yotsuba should have won because of Yotsuba of the present. Not because of the Yotsuba of the past. Him telling Yotsuba being there from the start left a sore aftertaste because Miku and Ichika both accepted him and were cooperating almost from the start, especially Miku, not even having the knowledge of Fuutarou being Fuutarou - a boy from the past, an advantage Yotsuba had over the others. This is where I am super major astronomically pissed. And yes, I agree that it was the shortest possible route. But it just somehow connects to the tweet Negi made 5 years back when he had only few K followers that childhood friends never win. It makes me think that there is a possibility that he actually wanted it to be Yotsuba (OR whoever it would be revealed as Kyoto Girl later, which eventually turned out to be Yotsuba and hence Yotsuba) all along but was just not sure how to get there or ran out of steam. And IF the editor clouded his judgement than I pity him as an author. No one could change Wakaki's decision of the end girl. He stuck with very low popularity but managed to put a single panel that changed a large number of fans' opinion, maybe he could not change their favourite girl into the end girl but left them with the reason to be able to accept the end girl. Because he managed to show what was Keima going through. Negi did something fro Fuutarou? Nope. He turned him into an a$$hole. I cannot believe he decided on Yotsuba yet had that conversation with her on the bus. Are you being serious? Fuutarou turned out to be worse than Raku. And I mean it when I said it. I will bring Bokuben here again. And I can assure you, if Uruka wins (and I am 90% positive that it will be her), I will be able to defend her being the end girl. Yotsuba fans cannot defend her. They are being massacred by Miku and Nino fans left and right all over the internet be it a/ r/ or 5ch. Anyways, tl;dr I am just so, so very disappointed. :( |
