Ok, so the crew of the space station got down back to earth to help civilization/create a new one, some of those had a certain IQ to do what Senku is trying to do, but in thousands of years they couldn't? I'm interested to see the next episode to see what went wrong.

Humans aren’t designed to be happy – so stop trying
Humans are not designed to be happy, or even content. Instead, we are designed primarily to survive and reproduce, like every other creature in the natural world. A state of contentment is discouraged by nature because it would lower our guard against possible threats to our survival. http://theconversation.com/humans-arent-designed-to-be-happy-so-stop-trying-119262

I'm going to make a guess and say Ruri can sing. But its cliché across most forms of entertainment that that the least expected one, in this case Kohaku, the fighter, who can sing. Either that, or I expect their father to have a beautiful singing voice lol

I don't know if you agree with the article, so I'm not really targeting this specifically at you. But I will share my thoughts. I do get what they're saying but I do disagree with it. Obviously I don't believe in some high fairytale version of happiness and grass is greener. Due to personal reasons I won't go into it was that long ago I wasn't happy at all. At that point in my life, my health, wellbeing and survival really didn't bother nor matter to me. I found something that gave me a bit of happiness and now I want nothing more than to survive and live. I believe all life is designed for happiness. Just because life requires you to survive doesn't mean happiness is pointless. Happiness wouldn't exist if it wasn't needed, it helps to drive individual lives (such as mine). So yes my happiness has driven me to care about myself enough to want to live. If happiness wasn't a part of life, then how come so many kill themselves (or attempt to) when they're basically...miserable?

Another good episode, we're starting to find out the lore of the world.

Senku is probably gonna abuse his position lmao

We don't know what kind of people we truly are until the moment before our deaths.
As death comes to embrace you, you will realise what you are.
That's what death is, don't you think?

well the thing is mental illness like depression should be against evolution if that is the case but it still persist or evolution did not get rid of mental illness like depression and anxiety altogether because as the article states negative thinking like worrying/anxiety helps with not letting our guard down and let us be more careful for the sake of survival

EDIT:

also about happiness there is a battle in our brain between short term rewards vs long term rewards and we know short term rewards usually wins thats why long term happiness is rare and addiction is not that rare and we know addiction is suffering

and evolutionary changes happen at least 10,000 to 100,000 years but modern life/society is only hundreds of years old so far

It's Keiji Fujiwara

the foreigner is Lynn and the other girl is Hisako Kanemoto

AND WHAT DO YOU MEAN BY BAD, Keiji Fujiwara fits a dad role well and he voiced some too

So, the story is now on Senku Byakuya's point of view. That's how Senku got his love for science. Like father, like son.

> So, Kohaku and Ruri are of foreign blood? From that girl Lillian? I see.
> Byakuya's antics is really the same on Senku as well.
> So, the stone petrification doesn't affect space. Only on Earth.

Damn, what a cliffhanger. Cannot wait!

Tbh all humans on earth are relatives in some way or another ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

It's just on a much bigger scale

In this episode we learn the past.
It has been so many years since the green light that turned humans into stones. This episode felt like 10 minutes long, why?
Six Humans, including Senku's Father, what a great mission you astronauts have been given.
I wonder where that green light came from though but it has been shown that the green light emitted from the North Pole. Was it Santa?

Definitely a different episode than what we're used to seeing from Dr. Stone so far. If I think about it I realise it's pretty sad. That was a bit hard to swallow, but I am glad everything is connected in a way. Makes sense why the village is named after Senku, cause his dad was the one who started it. Also we now know where Ruri & Kohaku got their looks from.

Only 6 survivors and they were in space... yikes.

Also, that voice actor of Senku's dad, I feel like I have heard this guy before, but not in a good way. Not the greatest of voices.

plot is expanding!
so this mean these 6 humans are the founding generations of humans that was has not been unpetrified....i guess all those six human survivors are gone since more than 3000 years has passed and other humans are probably the offspring of those six humans...but all of these are my wild guesses!

Yeah, I agree about negative emotions helping to keep us aware, careful and even focused. Mental health is definitely something that should be against evolution because it's not at all helpful. It only appears helpful afterwards when you've got an understanding of it (which takes time we wouldn't have if humans were just wild animals).

People do have their own vision of what happiness is and like you said long term vs short term, most end up focusing on short term or end up following a addiction. I suppose focusing on long term is what ends up causing some of us misery. Guess it depends on how a person can handle the positives/negatives. I guess if a certain idea of happiness is what drives someone with determination, then I suppose it's not a bad thing in that regard. Happiness is a personal thing, and like the article criticises "happiness gurus", I agree because they're more harmful in trying to create a general universal sense of happiness.

10/10 But what a great and revealing episode! Now everything makes sense about Ishigami village. There was some spoiler in the ending, but it was a great surprise to know that Senku's father was an astronaut, and one of the 6 founders of the village.
If the ending seemed sad to me, after this episode, it is even more so, I think I felt like crying, after all, Senku's father is no longer alive. Something tells me that in the next episode I will not be able to endure the tears, at least some will have to leave. I can't wait for the second part of this great and exciting story.

Ps: Ruri and Kohaku are the living image of their ancestor, the singer, Lili ❤ ... and Shamil is clearly the ancestor of Ginro and Kinro 😂.
It is very likely, even sure, that Senku had brothers and sisters.

Okay, I have a problem with this. 3700 years is way too long for there to just be this little, primitive village. It just doesn't add up. This is too huge of a timeframe. It feels more like maybe s hundred years.

Finally someone understood the scale that this story has. It would be very funny if a village had 3 million years. With 40 people.

You're forgetting that they've already said they've banned numerous people. There's more than just the 40 people here.
