Please don't ever skip school just for anime.
Watching anime should be saved for the weekend or whenever you're actually free to do whatever and aren't doing anything otherwise. Skipping school in general is also just gonna screw you and your grades over, especially in college.
At this point, it's pretty much a dangerous obsession for you.

I admit that I've skipped a... few times during HS, but it was never for anime. It was mainly cuz I hated the specific class that I kept skipping.

that's actually retarded dude, at that point just drop out of school
like even if you're smart missing more than 3 days of school fucks with your records. so you're basically dooming yourself to be a neet if you keep on this track.

Fairy tail aint even good.

ah yes, I will ignore calls to watch anime. People will die or be at risk but hey anime is more important than helping people or stopping criminals am i right? seriously, it is a very bad idea to skip your school or work for something like anime. You can watch it when you have free time. Is anime going to feed you or pay your bills?

No, I've never skipped class or work for anime. That's too crazy in my opinion.

I always thought since College is on your dime, you should never be wasting your precious college time for a hobby.

Same with work. I'd never risk a job just to watch another episode LOL.

I've never had it good in highschool, got bullied by some of my class mates in the 1st year, then later on in the year (2 months before summer break) i became friends with them. They admitted that hey were doing stupid things and they changed, but after the final results i had to drop my Latin class and go to a lower class. Then again i didn't impress my class mates in the 2nd year and fucked up a few times. 3rd year i skipped a lot cause of some of my class mates were racists and started bullying me and ended up redoing my 3rd year. I skipped like 1 month in total in my second "3rd" year then dropped a class lower. Same stuff for my 4th year but without dropping class, 5th year was kinda oke but the school fatigue was starting to build up and i didn't want to go to school anymore and stayed home watching anime. And with that i kinda screwed my 5th year and ended getting a C, and a C means i had to repeat my year but i said fuck it and dropped school. Now im looking for a job. But i would never skip work for anime, even if i had found a great one to watch, i would tell myself that i need the money for "my stuff" and to survive + i would have something to look for while i'm at work, like something to motivate me xd.

Sorry for the long ass novel, i know i could have done things better but i'm happy and have no regrets.

I've done it once out of impulse but I wouldn't do it again, or suggest that anyone else does.

I only really got away with it on the grounds that I was attending university at the time, the class I skipped did not have mandatory attendance, it was an easy class, and all of the lesson notes would be posted online anyway.

If you're still in high school or lower, or if you're taking college classes that aren't so easy that you can shut your brain off and still succeed, don't do it. Just use it as something to look forward to at the end of the day.

Even with my excuse of the class being easy and attendance not being mandatory, it's still kind of a guilty feeling when you skip class to watch anime. Almost like you didn't really "earn" it.

And DEFINITELY do not skip work for it. TL;DR keep your priorities in check.

When I was in high school I skipped a day to finish the last few episodes of Clannad After Story. That was worth it.

I never skipped a college class to watch anime. But that's just because I didn't watch anime that much in college. I occasionally skipped classes for other reasons, though, like if the professor was terrible or the lectures were pointless.

I definitely wouldn't skip work to watch anime.

That has to be stupid thing to do unless you are smart enough and doesn't need to go to school to study and can still catch up, then I guess it's fine. There's more to life than anime.

THIS!! THANK YOU!!
I’m in college and I cannot afford to fail my classes, ESPECIALLY when you’re paying out of pocket. Anyone who purposely skips school or work just to catch up on their latest series, needs to get a reality check. I will always judge people with these kinds of tendencies. Like you said, there is more things that are more important in life to focus on or be concerned about than not watching the newest episode of an anime. That will always be there, so you won’t be missing much. Do that when you actually have the time!

Anyone who skips out on school or work to watch anime (or engage in any other hobby) needs to reexamine their priorities and the long-term consequences of their actions. Those who brag about how much they skip school to watch anime are probably fishing for validation for a habit they probably realize on some level isn't the wisest choice.

Im watching fairy tail right now so sorry if i don't reply but i decided to skip school for 1 week to watch anime.

I watched around 29 complete anime in 2 years and my love for anime has sparked again after i got wrist tendonitus thus couldn't game and ended up watching Anime. After roughly a week my love has come back and will try to binge the ENTIRETY of the new fairy tail season before monday.

I went to school for 2 classes yesterday but outside of that i skipped all this week and gonna skip today as well just to binge Fairy Tail.
Enough about myself.

What do you think about skipping school/work for the medium you love the most? Did you ever do it if you did do you regret it?
nope my mom gets a notifaction if i end up being late to class or if im absent, having 4 absents in her notification without sayin anything to her will probably be a immediate giveaway, so yeah cant ever do it lol.

Ah, yes, you skipped around 1/8 of school time for anime depending on your location. I'd be shocked if you passed your exams. Git gud.

Anime are there to have some fun and kill some time. SOME, so don't it.

School might be boring but it's a place to socialize and gain knowledge. Work is there to sustain yourself and your family later (if you want one).

We have a digital planner where we can exactly see what they went over.
and what chapters are gonna be in the exam.

so for example: I missed chapter 9 friday at business and im gonna go over it in a bit.

I used to stay up until 4 am to watch anime, but never did I skipped school for it (I end up sleeping in every class tho). Imo it's a pretty dumb thing to do, since it can also effect your health if you stare at the screen for too long. Doing something you like is bad when it's too much.

A guy I associated with used to do that. His health declined because anime was "too important". We used to see each other in a roll playing circle of mine. His diet got worse and he got bigger. Also his attitude changed to like an incel. His mother came to me with concerns since i was his "friend". Im not sure what happened to him. Anime was the only thing he cared about.

I didn't because the few anime that were aired at the time on TV (to which i didn't know they were anime by the way) were being aired around 7 PM. Even if they were aired at the morning i still wouldn't skip school. It even was a challenge to watch e'm since there were others who wanted to watch TV as well especially my Grandfather. We had only one TV sadly. Oh you mean high school? Nope i never did that either.

In high school one day, I left school early on a Friday to go to an anime convention. I left at lunch and only had one more class after lunch, so my mom was like, "Just make up what you missed in that one class later". Honestly, not much was lost and I had a great time, so I didn't really mind.

Ah, I guess I also decided to take a week off from class in college to go to San Francisco for a convention. I mean, the convention was only on the weekend when I didn't have class, but we wanted to explore the city before the convention. So the actual missed days were not because of anime... but then again, we wouldn't have been there in the first place if it wasn't for the con, so I guess I did miss that week of classes for the sake of anime. My professor was really chill about it though. He was just like, "Going away, eh? Well, have fun. Just know how to catch up". I did kinda say I was going for a media convention something something sounded educational though 100% an accurate descpription, but it was just Yaoi-con. I did learn things at Yaoi-con though! They had some nice educational panels.

Enjoy your anime! | Witch Cafe Wisteria

No, I don't shirk my responsibilities just for some hobby.

I'll read light novels and manga on my phone at work when I'm not supposed to but only when it's slow or I've done all the work that needs doing for a while and have some down time.

To a degree...I think this is comparable to people using vacation days at work for game releases. For example, I took a day off during the WoW Classic release week to play, and I might take a day off for the WarCraft 3 Reforged release. Those days, however, unlike your school days, are days I'm allocated by my employer to use for vacation as I see fit. We're nearing the end of the calendar year, and even counting my upcoming trip to Japan, I'll have nine days left over (five of which I'll rollover to next year), so taking days off for whatever it may be - anime or games - isn't a problem. Taking days off from school, though, seems stupid. Speaking as someone who dropped out of college back in 2012 after around two years of it, I'm now finishing my degree because I've realized I'm barred from my future goals without a degree. Just be mature and go to school; Fairy Tail will still exist when you're done with school, but your future might not if you choose to throw it away for anime.

Well unless you're sick and can't go outside, don't do it? If it's school, you can most likely make it up, but that'll be a pain to do and may even affect your grades. If it's work, there's probably more severe consequences, especially if you got bills to pay.

Overall, skipping school/work has consequences so don't do it unless you have an actual good excuse.

Thats a stupid thing to do seeing how you can watch it anytime. I could maybe understand if it was before the invention of VHS/DVD/bluray, torrents, filesharing services and streaming and that anime only came on tv while you were at school. You don't want to grow up to be some loser panhandling or working at a low wage job because you decided to skip school to watch cartoons that you can watch anytime of the day at your own leisure.
