| I have zero issues with fanservice, especially in today's world where anime appeals to our generation who like "cute/sexy things" but for some reason the fanservice doesn't feel right? Soul Eater had alot of fanservice but it was really good, funny, and never truly forced. Same as FT which has probably more as it's one of the calling cards, but FT never came off like this either. Idk why, but shit is kinda cringe more than funny/eye appealing. Episode 4 had Shirna look up Hibana's skirt, big tit bumblebee looking women, everything feels forced |
| Yeah, it's really random and becomes annoying at times. The scene you mentioned just felt so out of place. Forget fanservice cliches, this type of fanservice is just feels really awful in comparison |

| Well, FT fanservice is the same shit as this. The only difference is that Fire Force fanservice has forgettable characters and generic designs while Mashima is better drawing ass and tits. Same shit, different skins and maps. |

| I usually hate fanservice because I feel like most of it is forced. The only fanservice that I like is that which would happen in real life. Like if a girl in short style skirt is walking and the wind blows it up or the girls fighting in skirts tropes. I also think that because I am older, I can tell a lot of fanservice borders on the sexual assault/rape kind. I don't dig that. All of the fanservice so far in Fire Force has seemed soooo bad and blatant. It's even in the ending with her dumping water over her in a white shirt. Or the girl who can't be bothered to wear a shirt like everyone else. I did fire training in the Navy and fought a simulated fire to pass boot camp. Fires are freaking hot. You definitely would want on flash gear, fire retardant clothes and other things. You wouldn't fight a fire in a bikini top. I really think that the out of place fanservice detracts from the show. Its a basic shounen anyway. I mostly like the kitschy art the story is typical so having the fanservice detract from it just makes it worse. |

| In general, I have always said that ecchi and action is a terrible genre combo. If you have a hype fight scene then it makes no sense simultaneously having the girls be half-naked and have tits flying everywhere. Logic aside, it just makes it impossible to know if you're supposed to take it seriously or not because while the action indicates that you should, the ecchi indicates that you shouldn't. It's paradoxical Now Fire Force is hardly the worst offender of this particular issue that I've seen but nevertheless it certainly does have some questionable logic behind it. For example, having a girl going around unbuttoned and in nothing but a bikini underneath when firefighting makes no damn sense from a practical perspective. Regardless of whether she looks good or not doing, it's immersion-breaking in the process I have no problem with ecchi conceptually speaking but I think if you're going to write it well, you need to 1) be able to read the mood, and 2) have some common sense. If it feels illogical or contextually inappropriate then it'll only come across as forced and/or unnecessary instead of being good eye candy. Ecchi tends to shine a lot more in down-to-Earth romcoms and more light-hearted series in general in my experience. It's definitely possible to do it right and there are many anime out there that do, but most of the time they don't |

| The series is garbage but the fanservice isn't the main problem with it. Imma say, it's on you and your cultural upbringing if you can't take something seriously because a character has less clothes than you like. I definitely do not think there's anything wrong with Tamaki's design (which people seem to hate with a passion, or even mistake their dislike for it with bad writing), I think it's pretty awesome in fact. I think the fanservicey scenes are meh like that because the way they are presented is neither particularly hot nor funny, but I have no problem with them trying to have a fanservice scene to begin with. Just make them better. Sexier, or bring some actual humor, not the retard ass MC and his stupid teeth. Anyway, why do people only focus on this when criticizng the series? The directing is shit, the main character is horrible, the action scenes are poor and boring, the dialogue is the worst. The whole thing, despite a crazy and interesting premise + good artstyle and animation, manages to feel slow and boring all the time. It's honestly so bad, but people blame everything on the tits, when everything around is a cesspool. |

I was referring to some scenes in ep 3 mostly, like that boobgrab one. It felt so out of place imo. If you're gonna add fanservice scenes anyway, at least I think you can do it in better ways.
