It would be ridiculous to say, "we can't execute them, it would look bad" then do something like ripp off their limbs or skin them alive. BTW, no one could survive being skinned alive and it's doubtful anyone would survive having all their limbs ripped off. I think she was just exaggerating to make Naofumi feel foolish for choosing actual torture. |

| Best episode my ass! How could the queen be willing to sacrifice his daughter and husband for someone she hardly knew, all for what? The nation. I get it those two were despicable, but isn't blood thicker than water and didn't she love them before this? She's lying when she said she was going to beg the shield hero with her life, that didn't look that way to me as she was already in execution mode. If it was, then the animators did a bad job to depict that. Also Naofumi didn't seem to stop the execution because of her, but because he felt pity after Bitch there begged her to spare her and, saw that she wasn't lying at it. The man is being given too much credit. |

| Finally! The punishment got served! Very satisfying <3 Oh come on! How could they cut Myne's confession?? That's the most important part! I would love to see Myne spit out all her lies and what she did to poor Naofumi, but instead she got her mouth shut the entire episode not feeling any guilt. Such a shame :( OMG, Motoyasu still believed in her lies!! How pathetic can he be?? He is so blind it hurts to watch X( At least Bow and Sword Heroes had a hint in Myne's actions. Well, at least she got saved by the Shield Hero along with her father, the King aka Trash. Hope she's happy she got saved, but her new nickname is so glorious it's funny! That was a good one XD |

| Not really a fan of the last few episodes. There wasn't a huge ass monologue where Shield chastised and admonished the actions of the other heroes, Naofumi actually tried to use Iron Maiden first to kill the Pope instead of going "Oooh a shiny new toy, lets try it out, I'm sure there will be no negative consequences to doing so!" And when he finally did use Blood Sacrifice, it was out of desperation and a last resort act because his ultimate skill did not work and the Pope had actually been healed from the wounds he received. And then the queen never even got to the battlefield to freeze the Pope in place. So that was added for no reason at all. Then we get this episode where we have an idiotic trial that only served as fan service to see close up shots of Myne's tits and her screaming in pain as she continuously lies, and therefore gets shocked by the slave seal. There's no public execution scene at all, it's all one continuous thing that plays out where the Trash and Bitch have their sins laid out to bear, and when it came time to think of a punishment, Naofumi just says to strip them of their titles/names. Oh and Naofumi and co. take part of the banquet afterward to celebrate taking down the Pope as that was meant to serve as a purpose of getting all 4 heroes' parties acquainted with each other, since you know, supposed to work together to clear the waves. |

Really satisfying to see Myne - sorry, 'bitch' - being so desperated that she begged the one she hated & bullied during 20 episodes. I'm curious to know how she will live with such title, after she lost almost everything but her life. |

The man is being given too much credit. She was about to pull the dagger just a moment before Naofumi stopped the execution you can go back and watch the scene again. The anime changed some things, in the manga/LN it was Naofumi who actually suggested killing them and the queen refused, then she played him into suggesting something less extreme, hence the name "Bitch" and "Trash". She's ruthless, but she wasn't about to let her daughter and husband die just like that. The anime shows Naofumi in a MUCH better light than other media tbh. |

| Damn, this episode, what a masterpiece! I just LOVED IT! First of all, Queen is an great women, she acted really well! I really didn't expect that trial, king and Malty without doubt got what they deserved, and that slave contract to detect her lie was so perfect, was so SATISFYING see Malty screaming everytime she lied, but that bitch had no shame, she keep lying and lying! I got crazy when Naofumi's dream was really being true, for me they really deserved die, and seeing malty calling for Naofumi's help, was just disgusting, but yeah naofumi got compassion and saved them, and Naofumi naming them was so priceless, Bitch/Slut and Trash really suit them so perfectly! Queen was thinking of offer her life for the life of that Trash and Bitch, i am glad Naofumi stopped that, unintensionaly, i think! The farewel was real heartwarming, specially from Melty, and was nice to see everyone who helped Naofumi! Looking forward to see what will happen in next 4 episodes! |

| Damn this is the most satisfying episode ever that Malty and Aultcray are punished. they are even named Malty: Bitch her adventurer Name is Slut Aultcray Name: Trash. Wow, every country is pissed off at Melromac for summoning the Four Cardinal heroes that the queen went to those countries to dispell any tension. Malty is such a pathological liar that she can't escape the Slave mark to force her, to tell the truth, this is kind of like a liar detector test and she failed all of those questions that have been asked of her. |

| I think I would've liked this episode more and even the anime more if I had not read the Web Novel before hand. Naofumi is definitely portrayed as a more heroic and a more general perhaps Shounen 'protagonist' kind of person. Naofumi in the WN is a vengeful prick who is repulsed by the very thought of Myne. I think someone else actually pointed it out already but Naofumi is the one who orders the execution of Myne and the King. Naofumi himself, very much like the King is blinded by his own hate towards Myne that the moment he realizes the Queen owes him, tries to take advantage of her to get these two executed. It's in fact the Queen who manipulates Naofumi into giving them a different punishment and he later realizes she just played him exactly the way she wanted. I did not dislike this episode though, had a very triumphant feel to it especially at the very end when Naofumi walks away from the castle and I do like this sort of thing and it's nice to see anime Naofumi finally being cleared of his name and getting some appreciation from everyone. Probably a great episode from an anime only viewpoint but as a WN reader, I think they changed far too much of the source material to the point it doesn't really feel like the same story anymore. |

| After that clusterfuck of a batshit story arc with the pope that was awkward as hell and deus ex machina solution, this episode made it worth it. This exceeded my expectations. I didn't expect it to go down this way at all, i was worried Myne was gonna get off easy, but at the same time it didn't look like they had any intention of killing her off... If anything this is the best way it could have gone down without just filthy vengeance or hand wave dumbshit... It was a little soft though, they should have been put to more humiliation, labour, non-physical torture and so on, so that their sentence is more agonizing than easy unfulfilling release via death. I'm sure a lot of the persistent humiliation is meant to be implied or perhaps shown more later, i dunno. It was cute that they gave some fanservice with the "bitch" thing, as i'm sure 2chan was also incessantly calling her that as well haha. Tate no Yuusha no Nariagari, The Rising of the Shield Hero, is a redemption story, not a descention story. He's supposed to rise from nothing, not fall from grace. Too many went into this show expecting masturbatory revenge plot... If you want that, go watch Jigoku Shoujo, it's literally that in droves. Tate no Yuusha is not MGTOW fanservice or echo chamber either, so those types can also get out. The story would have been exactly the same even if Naofumi was a girl. People might quote certain source materials on the subject, and show that some was notable darker and more self-centred than the anime, but i also found that those factors are pretty variable between the WN, LN, and manga. They are each independent tellings, and as far as the anime goes, there's no better way to execute a redemption that would fit within the series runtime. |
