Best girl Fubuki's here!

I'm surprised. When people told me that the remake manga had a filler arc before the Garou arc, I was worried that season 2 would get sluggish, but we've been moviing at a pretty brisk pace so far. I like it.

I only hope ONE picks the series back up again, so there'll actually be enough material for a season 3.

I love the new art style of this season, the thicker lines make it feel like a comic book. Saitama's first meeting with Miss Blizzard was so funny, she keeps trying to intimidate him and he just doesn't give a fuck.

No thanks, it's comfy up here. If you want to lewd Fubuki or whoever then fine, that's entirely your choice, but if the only reason you like a character is because she has a nice figure or something then you can't pretend that's not superficial.

I could understand the "it's superficial" argument if we were talking about a real person. But we're not. We're talking about a 2D fictional character here. Why are you taking this so seriously?

Scenes with King simply rock. They present very good comedy quality. I didn't read manga, so I was worried that King will be another cliché clumsy guy who acts so bold and powerful, but doesn't have any special abilities compared to other heroes. More or less I thought he will be someone like Mister Satan from Dragon Ball. While I like Mister Satan, I didn't want to see his OPM's version. I'm glad that King happened to be different and is so much positive as a character. :)

Same, i really like King, and i feel like he will add a lot to this anime.
What saves OPM is the plot and the comedy, because the visual part will manage to get even worse.

The conversation was so rushed, not typical action oriented show. Saitama voice a bit flat than in season 1. Aside from that it was good episode.

The episode was not that bad, but the animation was quite static for most of the episode and the voice acting of saitama was off in some lines. Overall quality is quite mediocre but still fun to watch.

Feels so cheap, quality in general is so low, mediocre animation for an action show, they abuse close ups to cover lack of quality animation, no hyped fight scenes, humor seems absent, voice acting is mediocre, lazy episode direction.

Some funny parts here and there but in general this episode is average for a show that raised the bar with first season.

I'm here to say, read the manga. Murata's fantastic art > shaking camera on still images in the fights, jarring and bad cuts and lousy directing any day.

That's very shallow (and downright perverted at worst) if that's the only reason you like a character.

A lot of people are quite superficial, but there is also a decently large crowd of the Fubuki fans who are genuinely interested in her character, and her development.
Fubuki could be top 5 or at least top 10 of a class, she doesn't move up because of her sister.

No problem with that, if they're actually in it for her character as well.

I was trying to recall what 'development' you're referring to, but then I remembered some of her later interactions with Tatsumaki (I've read the manga and webcomic).

The story was still good though. It's just that I wasn't feeling the scenes compared the way I felt while reading them on the Manga.

Even if I didn't compare the animation from Season 1, I think it's still worse than any average anime I've watched so far (when it only comes to animation; but storywise, they nailed it).

Regardless of the disappointments, (after so many years, lol) I will still continue to watch the show.

I would say I’m much more tolerant of bad animation than the average anime fan, but this is just so bad. I can’t even finish the episodes. To take such an amazingly fantastic animated series like this and hand it over to such incompetent animators makes me so sad. Where’s the effort, the stories feel weird, comedy is not well adapted and the sound directions is so weird. Wtf happens here dude.

Well that was fucking terrible and I'm in pain. They ruined so much otherwise amazing shit this episode. Not just the action, but even the comedy and dialogue are feeling weak now. The direction is awful. Show more close up zooms of everyone and everything, and keep cutting to after the movement and impact for everything, that's great... And how many 1-color backgrounds was that for the character close ups? Just about every character and scene contained multiple... Also who needs detail when you can just cloud everything with shitty fucking effects and make the scene last just one second? And the design choice for Genos' arms was questionable, but what the hell is wrong with Sonic's armor? WHO thought that looked good?? And who thought cutting Garou's backstory would be a good idea? The one bit that MAKES the comedy/parody here and saves it and him from being seemingly just badly written.

OPM just feels like a trashy generic shonen right now, they've even made the delivering of Saitama's lines feel cringey and lifeless. Fuck, fuck, FUCK the production committee for being greedy and impatient and handing it off to this (largely) too inexperienced and incompetent staff. Am triggered.

I AGREE WITH THAT 100%, absolutely right. When i saw this episode i was also triggered. They are doing SHIT with this anime now.

another average episode. some good keys here and there, but i find it really strange how they are using interpolation for action scenes which causes frames to blur in and out of eachother. it makes it look like the framerate is wrong. i can't even tell if they're doing it on purpose.

not optimistic for the future of the season, but i'm still enjoying the story.

The only reason why Index's story was "bad" is because the anime skipped a lot of narrative and details that actually make senses or at least make the story understandable, not to mention some of the arcs was also rushed as hell due to "marketing" reason (I'm talking about you, Battle Royale Arc, that arc seriously needs at least 5 episodes instead of just 3). And you do realizes Index's original source is LN and it's 22 volumes far ahead than the anime as of now right? (31 volumes ahead before Index III was starts airing) The latter part wasn't wrong however, as Nishikiori loves the fan-services scenes (And HQ background) at lot more than the actual story itself.

So, it's the same old story: Misdirection from the story to sell the goods and keep the audience in a sedated, but interested state. Yet the difference between Index and OP Man is that audiences can see flaws more easily in Index, but donÄt care, while OPM 2 is not that bad, but people want to hate it, because the Twinkies (as a metaphor) aren't made by the old company. So, it doesn't matter if the recipe (the source) is the same, as long as the packaging changes...

You can't even follow a single fight, the camera always act like she has alzheimer.
No explanations on particular things (Garou story, King & Saitama probable frienship...)

In a few areas the Animation looks fine but it looks like they are having trouble keeping constant . I wonder if it would have been better if they had more time to work on it .

No clue how the anime industry works as it when this season was announced it looked like they only started working on it near the end of last year or January . So what happened between annoucment and making the season ?

Rather than the animation, I miss the soundtrack from s1. Back then, some songs were perfect during the fight scenes, and even in more serious moments the audio made some impact. so far, s2's title song is still the best track to me.
With that being said, Fubuki finally got to meet Saitama, Genos and King. Things will get interesting from here.

Garou actually did rip that hero's arm off in the manga and that's indeed weird considering that Garou got a lot more softer later on.

I guess the author wanted to make Garou brutal in the beginning and as time passed on he changed his mind and made Garou softer so we could sympathize more with him.

I'm not defending season 2 of One Punch Man because the action scene of this season is indeed trash compared to season 1 but... that video of JoJo you showcased has a lot of still-shots as well so that video was a pretty bad example in getting your point across.

Honestly, I think the animation so far is ok. If it wasn't for S1 totally spoiling us with its super high quality, we wouldn't feel so upset. Of course though, when you build high standards the fall from the top hurts, and it definitely applies here.

Still, I don't think this is the main problem. I don't know if it's because I've already read this part in the manga and essentially "re-watching" it makes it kinda odd, but I feel like something is up with the pacing.
Is it just me or everything moves so fast? I feel like there is no dramatic pause between scenes, I'm not "feeling" what's happening. It kinda hops from one thing to the other, each one of them executed decently on their own, but... meh. Maybe I just watched it too late at night, but wanted to check if anyone else feels the same way.

Overall, still hyped for what's to come after waiting for so long.

While is true that season 2 is not even close to season 1 quality I also believe that season 2 isn't that bad either, it just feels bland and generic, I'm not "feeling it" either while I was feeling every bit of season 1. I believe the director is the one responsible to make us "feel" the moment and he's probably not doing it correctly. What I've seen so far is just a copy/paste of the manga into this with nothing extravagant in-between, the director is the one that needs to work out those in-between moments somehow to make us feel the moment with awesome cinematographic or something.

I liked it. Some of the animation was really bad (The metal parts of Genos and Sonic were ugly) but overall I enjoyed the episode. Obviously it's a downgrade from season 1, but I'm just excited to see the Garou arc animated. I can't wait for next episode.

My only worry at this point is that the quality gets even worse.
