| Maybe the authors can't even imagine a 2D girl ever wanting to have sex with them. Or maybe it's a very complicated and multifaceted fetish that I'm too tired to analyse at length. But just let me say that a large majority of rape doujins and hentai I've seen is the 'fluffly' kind of rape, where the main point is that the girl wants it after all and he's basically doing her a favor by 'making' her honest and the girl feeling pleasure from the rape is what's central. So basically it's just an extension of what I wrote in the ahegao thread: Men like fantasizing about being able to bring pleasure to women, even against their will. But it isn't really about hurting them or seeing them suffer, just drown in pleasure, being able to have control over them. The 'real rape' doujins, where the emphasis is on the girl not wanting it, suffering from it, and that in itself being the turn-on, are much rarer I believe. They often pay meticulous attention to details and making the scenarios as realistic/believable as possible, while the other kind is often very removed from reality (like most doujins and hentai). Of course the transitions between those two poles of the rape fetish are fluent, but I think it's important to differentiate them because both their appeal and execution generally vary. Oh and don't forget about Gangbangs, I feel like half the 'rape' tags out there are just because there's a gangbang and those are almost always rapey. But it feels like the rape is more of a means to an end in those kind of doujins and they don't often explore the psychological aspect of the rapist-rapee relationship gets barely even touched hence not making it appeal to the readers via the rape tag, but via the gangbang tag which just happens to have the rape tag attached to it a lot of the time. And don't get me started about gangbanging, that's one of the more popular tags that I'll never enjoy myself. |
