China's anime about Marx had me seriously consider if I have seen Leftist thought in anime. Personally I am pretty far on the Left myself, but the most I have come across in anime that can be described as left has been anti-pollution, with stuff like Princess Mononoke. While you could argue Princess Mononoke is a criticism of Capitalism Iron Town seems be more aptly described as Feudal.
So, are there any shows that really struck you with Marxist or even anti-capitalist themes?

Scrapped Princess is arguably Camusian. Though don't make the mistake of thinking that left = anti-capitalist. There is such a thing as an empirical left.

Politics itself isn't a very recurrent theme in anime. Nausicaa is also anti-pollution of sorts. Actually, several Miyazaki movies seem to share that theme. He also identified with the left in the past, so some of his older work might have more political stuff.

Paranoia Agent is not really affiliated to any side, but it criticises escapism generated by Japanese consumerist culture (as well as Paprika by Satoshi Kon as well).

Revolutionary Girl Utena is said to be a feminist anime. Never watched it, though.

Also fuck communism.

Anime can be Political.
It's just that the shows have such politics anx just not point the out as the vocal point.

But other Anime kinda are vocal about it such as your Examples and:

Devilman Crybaby: This show openly criticizes the idea of Demonization through media and shows hiw destructive that can be.

Food wars: yh a show with Foodgasms has a Fascist Antagonist of an Fascist food empire.

Gundam: Gundan is all about War and Waf is ALWAYS political.

@Bourmegar please note that I said "Politics itself isn't a very recurrent theme (...)"

I never said anime can never be political. Just that politics is rarely tackled in anime.

Kaiji is not communist but it is extremely critical of capitalism and the class based society it creates

I guess there's no need to use smart storytelling to tal about politics. It's just a distorted idea of us that a funny, ecchi, gourmet battle show can't have more messages than what it looks at first, Everything comes with ideology, no matter how hidden it is.

But i doubt it's the best example, I agree o that.

PS: I know this had nothing to do with the topic, but meh.

Naruto actually has an underlying metaphor on how capitalism is slowly destroying society as we know it.

Akira definitely has a Marxist slant to it, as does Kaiba.

Princess Principal has an episode about workers owning a laundry and its main narrative drive is about class struggle and anti-monarchy.

Scrapped Princess has no philosophy other than the philosophy of blue-balling the audience.

This glorious signature image was created by @Mayumi!

I am the Arbiter of Absolute Truth, and here is my wisdom:

"Anime was always influenced by the West. This is not news.
Shoujo is the superior genre primarily aimed at young people.
Harem/isekai are lazy genres that refuse any meaningful innovation.
There is no 'Golden Age.' There will always be top-shelf anime.
You should be watching Carole & Tuesday."

I tried to avoid spoilers with these, but discussing themes is kind of spoilery for some of these anime.

AKB0048 is about fighting an industrialist corporatist empire and creating a materially equal, green society without hierarchy. The protagonists are basically ancoms.

Gatchaman Crowds doesn't really discuss economics, but has a very anti-authoritarian and communitarian take on heroism that wouldn't be out of place amongst social anarchists.

Little Witch Academia has an episode where the protagonists organize workers and hold a strike.

Mawaru Penguindrum has a somewhat sympathetic anti-capitalist terrorist organization.

Outbreak Company is basically an anti-colonialist allegory.

I'll also second Kaiba, Akira, and Nausicaa.
"The race is not to the swift or the battle to the strong, nor does food come to the wise or wealth to the brilliant or favor to the learned; but time and chance happen to them all."

I am unsure what you are referring to when you say empirical left, do you just mean progressive politics or something different?

It's not a great anime and the second half of it is just weird. But watching it I could only think of the Rebel.

What I mean is, the reason I have infinitely more respect for the old-school Marxists than for the current mainstream intersectional left is that they at least still hold to some kind of materialistic epistemology. Now all they have to do is to abandon their failed theories and embrace naturalism. Come to the dark side. :)
