To put into perspective: I know 20 gay/lesbian people IRL. Almost all my friends are. lol. I know 1 Aromantic person. One Asexual person. 5 Bisexual/Pansexual people I know 6 trans people. <--- Strangely all my trans friends were childhood friends. hahahaha (as well as my Aromantic friend- who is only attracted to cartoons/anime these days) And only met 2 people who get mistaken for the wrong gender consistently despite not being trans. ONE is Gender-Fluid non-binary. The other is a lesbian who just looks like a boy and honestly she doesn't care about being mistaken and thinks it is hilarious. and I SEEK THESE PEOPLE OUT. I SEEK THEM. (My husband says I am more of a fruit fly than a fag hag because people seem to come to me regardless if I am looking lol) They aren't that damn common folks. Searching for bisexual/pansexual male is hard enough!!!! Add weird genderbender shit on top of your demands and you are just asking for like... NEVER GETTING ANY LOVE IN RETURN!!! lol I mean... as much as I have had randos "tell me" they are gender fluid (3 people other than my husband, all under 18, randomly at con, within 30 minutes of meeting them), I tend to seek behaviors rather than telling me a thing. There is a certain psychology they have. A manner of being. And yeah that makes me fucking judgmental and an asshole but without being nutters about the details of their gender presentation: I will just assume they are saying it for political reasons and I will do my best to respect it but it is literally not the same as my husband who lives or dies on his legs being presentable. lol. These people are slightly vain but in quirky ways. And in ways that are VERY unfashionable. Beat of their own drummer marching head first into a mob who might kill them or give them money for being weird. Their is a charisma about it. Makes em sparkle. And as much as I have seen some people randomly I thought might be (like people I kept saying their name over and over and over not knowing what gender they were- jesus christ Ryan, who wore sparkly red dresses I don't even know what he wanted me to call him to this day!- and no, I don't know what the plumbing is on that person they literally very confusing and Ryan is used as a girls name up here sometimes!) If you find yourself thinking they are a real rebel against gender norms or whatever and they just look fucking weird and you can't shake everything from behavior being so flippy floppy you so confused!!! :D EXCITE. Real diamonds. The only way it is a REAL one though is if they are not intentionally doing it. Just walk around being themselves. Normal and such. You just notice because you notice. I donno... not really pro-political dismantling of gender itself really. The sexes are different but if we are talking about presentation and how we want to be spoken to and respect: yeah this is good to establish communication. |

I'd refer to them as "they/them", since a lot of non-binary people are okay with that. Me addressing them as "they" doesn't prove to be any sort of detriment to my daily life, it doesn't harm me like it apparently does some people in this thread. Honestly, adhering to their preferred pronouns might be difficult for some people for whatever reason, but it's just a sign of respect. It also dismisses any altercations concerning their preferred pronouns, so you don't really have to deal with anything stupid if you just called them "they" in the first place. |

I looked it up and apparently it's because humans have Lygaean reproduction as opposed to the Protenor reproduction. Oh right XO is Turner syndrome, I've heard of that. Had to look it up what people with it look like though. I didn't realize it was a different chromosome involved |

In what context would you ever use "he" or "she" when talking to someone directly? That's talking in third person, isn't it? There would have to be a third person there (Person C), and then you could use "he" or "she" when referring to the non-binary person (Person B). ..Anyway, to answer your question: I don't know. |

Most of them actually belong to "coming out of high school/college/university phase" with feeling of entitlement around them and tumblr is their safe haven.(There are exceptions ofc) The teenage rebellious phase can be very tricky and if not dealt with caution and care can harm an individual more than anything. Do you actually think people in military or in any emergency units gives a shit about such individual's self-made existential crisis? They are nothing more than an extra body count to further progress their respective objectives. If such people do get offended so easily they might as well label themselves as "special snowflakes" because frankly most people have bigger fishes to catch and all that jazz. Hiding behind the anonymity of social media within the comforts of well crafted rooms with all the luxuries,an idle brain with too much time can find a lot of ways to waste time. |

These "non-binary" people have mental issues like transgender people/gender dysphoria - they need medical help. By calling them by what they ask us to call them will not do any good. Quite the opposite, it will only make them believe they're in the right and they will not seek help |

I really don't care about what someone's make-belief version of themselves is. If he's a male, then he's a male. If she's a woman, then she's a woman. You can ''identify'' as whatever you want, it doesn't mean others should go along with you in your false belief of what you are. |

You won't switch chromosomes just because you believe it. There are 6 possible chromosome combinations in humans. XX XY XO XXY XXX XYY So I guess there are six genders right? Nope. Only X chromosomes is female, if a Y chromosome is included in the combinaton, then male. |

When I heard that NY was going to legislate something like that, I noped the fuck out I live in a state that's more on the southern baptist lunatic side so I don't think we'll have any "pronoun" laws pass… but what the hell is the US thinking? smh if I ""misgendered"" a fakeboi Canadian ""model"" (that anorexic Sarah Karda girl who pretends to be a nonbinary transboi) nothing would happen to me anyway under US law welp. I hope the US never gets to that point. |

I consider myself a fairly accepting person but the moment someone starts shoving gender and pronouns down my throat forcefully is the moment I'm basically done with said person. The funny thing is that insofar as "discrimination" goes there's much worse kinds of discrimination that nobody gets offended over at all and some people even laugh at. Mentally ill people hurting in a workplace setting and having difficulty suppressing their mental health issues get treated like shit by the higher ups, but the moment some nonbinary whoiswhatit shows up, is the moment they have to pretend to like the idiot. Because nobody takes actual discriminatory behavior against mentally ill workers by bosses supervisors etc seriously. My last supervisor before I quit my job bullied me because I had old self harm scars on my arms, among other things, customers and other coworkers were accepting of me and I was a good worker, but my boss was primarily discriminatory because he found out I was bipolar and judged me for it mockingly till the end. "Pronouns" are nothing compared to the shit ppl with mental issues in the workplace get, I'm so tired of fixation on all these first world problems. If these pronoun kids can't suck it up and take being called a "she", fuck them all, I have more meddlesome shit to deal with. |

It's a very "first world problem" superficial aspects to fixate on. Actual trans people will correct you if you misgender them and move on. Special snowflake tumblrinas will call you discriminatory and closed minded till the ends of the earth. These kids don't even know proper discrimination, they wouldn't know it if it slapped them in the face. People undergo so much worse than just being called by the wrong "pronouns", goes to show how shallow their mindset as to what gender and sexuality are to them- pity points and props. |

spuukiebuugi said: I completely agree but for these people, identity is the most important. They dismiss peoples' opinions if they're white, male or cis because those people have "privilege". They are unfair because all of their arguments are about feelings and not logic. There's no way to change the way they think because they are the popular opinion now while we are in the 1% who can see beyond a sexuality/gender/race.It's a very "first world problem" superficial aspects to fixate on. I've been into arguments with people before and they dismissed anything I've said because I am a cisfemale. Therefore, I'm not allowed to argue with them. No point fighting for your thoughts anymore when they're dismissed. |
