| Ripple already reached its limit. Stand is way more powerful. Aganst time stopping, time reseting or time erasing, Ripple can't do much. Ripple need training to be use so not anyone can use it like Stand so its very limiting to what kind of character can use them. With Stand, even a baby can use it. |

| Ripple was a detriment to the series. Stands are far more diverse and really one of the the reasons for the series popularity. |

| Ripple has too many limitations. Maybe Araki got lazy making training arcs in ripple and adding more unique traits. Stands have no limitations and can be used by anyone be it a baby, a plankton, a thing, or whatever. It can also has bs abilities and it is also easier to write stands than hamon. Notice that part 1 and part 2 combined cant get more episodes than other parts with stands. |

| Moved from Anime Discussion Stardust Crusaders introduced stands, which have a more identifiable theme about them, have greater variety in how they can be used, and are able to be used by both villains and heroes, so it kind of levels the field for them. At least, that's what it seems like. |
| Stands have more diversity doesn't mean Ripple should be forgotten. So, I'd say bad writtings is real reason. |

| Well, the Ripple worked really well against vampires and pillar men, I don't see the point in using it against anything else. It's not like it wouldn't do anything, but Stands are really awesome, you never know what kind of power they have. |
