| Like yesterday I stopped what I was doing becuase I was looking at a cartoon girls face of a good girl drawing artist. The face was so emotional, like she told me to stop without even moving. And I listened to her, while she was just a picture! I can't believe a non moving drawing has got me on a leash rather than a real women. Of who I don't feel any emotions toward. I think on one hand this is a good thing tough. |

| Because normal people are boring and dull, while like anime or cartoon character have far more interesting personality. A person in real life will mostly yell first in this thread BTW firstgod damn it my joke. while an anime character will give you actual advice. Or maybe their appearance, actions, and hopes are similar to who you are or what you wished for, so you accept them as a "family" subconsciously. |

| Because you are too distant from life. I don't know how old are you, but find a friend on online who lives near you, doesn't matter if male or female. Meet up, talk with your friend, celebrate events together, your friend will probably know other people, get to know them as well. After a year, might take even longer! you are used with seeing humans more. Of course anime can be there for you too, but you are just too distant from human beings at the moment. Once you get used with the visuals of normal human beings, you start to see some similarities in them that anime characters might also have, either it's their beautiful eyes, or the shape of their body. In anime it's all brought out, but in humans, you must find it too. |

| Because by opposition to most real people you met, you get to follow those characters in their life, share their joys and pains, etc. Of course, regular people can't compete with that just like they can't compete with your children. To make it simple: because they'rz your babies/pets. |

| > Why am I more emotionaly attracted to girls in anime or/ cartoons etc, than real people? It's because real people suck. They're bullies, gold diggers, politicians, abusive parents and annoying younger siblings. They can't slay a dragon or solve a crime even if their life depended on it. By contrast, there is a lot of anime characters you'd want to be friends with (or marry, if they're of the right sex). They're caring, principled, inspiring, and even younger sisters or brothers are pure adorable. Also, anime characters look better on the average. |

Humans are boring , compared to fictional characters. I have found my peace in them. Thank you. |

| I've seen some pathetic threads in my 18 years of anime fandom, and this one's near the very top of the trash heap. Good God. |
This glorious signature image was created by @Mayumi! I am the Arbiter of Absolute Truth, and here is my wisdom: "Anime was always influenced by the West. This is not news. Shoujo is the superior genre primarily aimed at young people. Harem/isekai are lazy genres that refuse any meaningful innovation. There is no 'Golden Age.' There will always be top-shelf anime. You should be watching Carole & Tuesday." |

| I'm all for anti-escapism, but to a degree, real people can and do act fake (at least fake in terms of disconnecting themselves with "ugly" sides of humans like mortality, aging, eating, emotions) very often (to appear distinguished and of "high" value, basically for money) and people have to resort to fiction to remember what true emotional catharsis is like. It stops being about escapism, and more about figuring out what an emotion is in the first place. Until we stop building barriers between us in modern society, with status, wealth, clothes, material possessions, people will always need art or fiction to remind them of humanity. |

As for your question, anime characters are made to be appealing and supposedly better than real life, so you're just falling into their creator's trap. Jokes aside, try to be mindful if your love for 2d is getting in the way of your 3d life. Having waifus, husbandos, sons and daughters are nice and all, but in the end, you aren't a character yourself. Live a bit in this dimension, once in a while. |
