| So far it looks like the same thing as Death Parade but you should watch them anyway, its not like they are very long, it doesnt even take 1h30 to watch both of them. (The first one being 26 min. and the other almost 1h) |

| Does anyone know for sure if the anime is a remake of the movie or not? I'm sure the movie is good but I don't want to watch it and then be bored with the anime because I know all that's going to happen. I'd rather check out the anime first and then watch the movie some other time. But if it's a sequel then I need to watch the movie first so I'm not confused about what's going on. |

From what I could see from the PV, this show isn't a sequel of the first movie. The original movie starts when Atsuko is already part of the Academia and already has a rivalry/friendship with other characters. In the PV, you see her arriving at the school so, chronologically speaking, it happens before the events of the movie. I do think that the TV show will go through the same events since they're important to explain the main character's motivation behind wanting to become a witch. In short, I think the TV show will be both, a prequel and a retelling of the original movie. I don't think you will need to watch any of them before watching this. Movie is great, but it will likely spoil you in regards to the anime. (Disclaimer: This is my opinion based on what little information I have now. I haven't watch the first episode yet but can post an update here when I have.) |

| It'll probably be a mix of everything; prequel, re-hash, continuation. It's going to be 2 cour, so there's wayyyyyy more time episode wise, than content from the 2 movies put together. |
| Skimming through all the posts I could see that asking for whether it is a sequel, prequel, or whatever is in between is pointless; so my question at this point is this: Everything that might make it a good move to watch aside, do I have to watch this movie before watching the anime? |

So if you're a minimum curious about the medium, and feel inclined to watch a short movie (two movies strictly speaking btw) that lead to the series you want to watch, allowing you to witness the evolution of the various elements of production (art, voice acting, animation, bg, etc), then go ahead and watch it. If you don't care about any of this, then don't watch it, but then don't complain later if you're missing out on things.Everything that might make it a good move to watch aside, do I have to watch this movie before watching the anime? |
