How do you read manga most often?

I don't read manga often, but I find it a lot less enjoyable to read it online where I'm not actually holding the book and flipping the pages. It seems like a lot of people on MAL watch anime and read manga almost equally which leads me to believe that most people read manga online on Crunchyroll or Kissmanga.

How do you like to read manga?

What country do you live in and how much are they? Manga is usually $13 here in the US.

Completely agree with OP here since physical manga is the best for sure.. It just that we need to read the online manga if we want to up to the latest chapter of our favorite series..

With my eyes.

Physical. Except like one or two ongoing series (That I still get physicaly when they are released XD) and am too impatient to wait for. It just feels wrong reading manga on a computer or a phone (especialy a phone) or stuff like that.

The only advantage reading online has (outside being free <_< ) is that you're not drowning in mangas. (Literaly) JESUS I NEED BOOKSHELVES T.T

if i could i would love to read manga in physical form, nothing beats the feeling of reading a book/comic/manga when you hold it in your hands and flip the pages...... mmmmmm
but alas
in India manga is not so popular and even if you find find one they are expansive , i have brought some of my favorite titles..... but reading online us more feasible for me

When I was younger I always bought the series I wanted to read.
Nowadays I'm too... well,stingy.
In Germany the volumes are quiet expensive and I prefer to buy things which are much more valuable to me than manga. *vídeogames cough*

When I was little, I used to buy manga all the time. Mostly because I didn't really know of many websites that I can read manga from, but also because I genuinely liked supporting the mangaka.

But that was a long time ago. It's been years since I've last bought manga. If I bought every manga I've ever read, that would all add up. Crazy.

I just took a look at amazon.de
Germany seems to be in a similar situation than France, except maybe you seem a little cheaper by 0.50€ at average.

Meaning that manga are the least expensive type of comics and are more cheaper than in the US. (if I trust CrashD a little above, who is saying that they have them for 13$, thus ~11€)

Obviously they're more expensive than in Japan, but that's normal because our publishers must buy the right to publish them, and pay translators and editors, and manga don't sell that much.
I won't call that "expensive".

Since I don't have the money to buy each thing that I read (nor is it available here), I read them online, but I do intend to buy the ones that I liked when I'll be able to.

I have to share a room, but the guy occupied every square centimeter. I don't even have place to store my college books, let alone keep manga. So yeah, online, normally. Though I really wanna buy physical copies. :/

From my experience with reading books, I'd most likely enjoy reading a physical copy of a manga a lot more than reading from an online source, but I doubt I will ever buy one, so online it is now, and most likely it will stay so as long as I read manga.

Strictly online - and this for several reasons.

1. Most of the manga I read are not available in English let alone other languages so I have to rely on scanlations.
2. It is way more convenient to read them online than having them as a physical copy - you don't have to buy and store them.
3. They cost literally nothing (except the costs for your internet).

These advantages outweight any concerns about "lacking support for the industry".

Physical 100%. The manga I read online is Haikyuu, since the manga hasn't caught up here yet and I'm trying to avoid spoilers. Occasionally I'll read something that hasn't been licensed/collected here yet (especially one shots), but other than that it's all physical.

...It helps that I work in/basically run a bookstore with a huge manga section. Employees are allowed to "check out" books so we can be informed for our customers. I can read a different volume every day if I want, as long as it's in stock. I also get a 30% discount, so that takes a huge sting out of buying them. And I'm in charge of processing new releases, so I get to see every new book that comes in. So that's kind of spoiled me for slogging through ad-laden scanlation sites.

As a bookstore employee, you really shouldn't be. I guarantee the cashier either A) has already rung up something weirder that day, and is completely desensitized to anything at this point or B) not even paying attention to what you're buying.

There's also always ordering online.

I hate reading manga on my computer, my laptop screen isn't tall enough to fit a page. But I love reading it on my tablet (a kindle fire) because it's the perfect size. I do like physical copies a lot, too. If a manga has an official translation though I try to read that by getting the physical volumes, mostly through my local library, which has a pretty extensive collection, so I can get them free and legally!

I keep physical copies of anything I'm reading that HAS a physical copy to be found in the US. For instances of let's say... Billy Bat, one of my favorite manga, not been released here... I download cbr files and open them via the Simple Comic app on mac. It's fine, but it does irk me, not having these volumes in my collection.

Manga is a weird exception for me.
Unlike Anime, which I typically stream in less-then-legal fashion before buying physical copies of good anime, music, which I rip a lot of low-quality copies off the internet, and Video games, which I buy second and third hand...
Manga is something that I only buy physical books of, at retail price. Granted, this means it costs a lot of money to even have the small collection I do have, but the knowledge that I'm directly sponosoring an oft-overlook industry from the West is great.

And nothing is better looking then having a full series lined up in a bookshelf.

Well, I've tried to use apps, but I don't really like reading manga on my phone. Atm, it's split pretty evenly between physical manga and kissmanga. I bought all the Asano Inio and Ito Junji shit licensed in the states.

For me, ofc the physical copy is the best IMO, but due to the limited source (like in my home country the latest volume of naruto out almost 2 years after it's finished) so to keep up with the latest chapter, i've to read it online..

I usually read online but I would love to buy more physical manga. The feel of the paper is just too good to trade in even for ease of use.

Word. There's nothing quite like holding a physical book in your hands and poring over the details.

I'll buy physical manga if I could but the variety for English-translated manga in Singapore is still quite limited compared to the Mandarin Chinese ones (which I'm unable to read fluently). Online is the way to go for now.

Hahaha.. Yeah, even here in Malaysia, I always see the variety of Mandarin Chinese light novels and manga. The covers look so pretty. Then, I kind of wish I took Chinese in primary school.
